Description

Since its introduction in 1957, the original Wilson A2000 Series has set the standard for premium quality ball gloves. Developed together with engineers, craftsmen and Major League players, the A2000 Series is the ultimate defensive tool. Used on MLB fields since 1998, the A2000 SuperSkin models were developed to be as lightweight as possible, without sacrificing performance or durability. SuperSkin repels moisture and reduces the overall weight of the glove while still being 2x stronger than conventional leather. The SuperSkin models strategically place American Pro Stock leather at certain points such as the palm and web to give it even more rugged durability. Pro Stock American Steerhide is prized by players for strength and unmatched feel. It has even been called "the perfect ball glove leather". Its durability is enhanced even further with Dual-Welting pre-curved finger design that helps the pocket keep its shape and stay stable. Think it's impossible to improve perfection? Think again. Put millions of hours of passion for excellence in the palm of your hand with a Wilson A2000 SuperSkin glove! Wilson: More Win! Free Shipping!

Pros: Light weight

Cons: Cannot feel the ball in the pocket. The 1796, 1786, ASO, and Brian Wilson all have a nice feel of the ball and it sticks in the mitt better than the super skin.

Pros: First Wilson I have ever had. Got this glove about a week ago between games at a double header and caught some with it and decided to play the second game with it. It isn't hard to break in at all, easier than a gold glove even. This glove continues to prove itself over and over. Some say you can't feel the ball in the pocket- don't listen to them, that is only when it is brand new, after it is broken in, you are capable of stopping all ground balls with the LIGHTEST glove on the market.

My first question is... What is the difference between this a2000 model and the 1786 Super Skin model? My second question is... When you order a glove and "add glove oil" does the oil come with the 2 applicator sponges that are included with the clove care kit? Thanks, holman35 holman35
The onyl difference is going to be the color of the leather and the webbing in each glove.
Brett
Can I get this same glove in the standard brown? Charlie
This is going to be the closes glove that we have that is going to be in the color brown that you are looking for; Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS
Todd
when you add glove oil for $4.99, does it come with an applicator sponge? theusual
When you add glove oil, the applicator will not come with the oil. The applicator comes in the glove care kit.
Todd
does this glove have any palm padding and is it okay to put glove oil on it bjl
Yes, it does have some palm padding. I always preferred more of a conditioner than an oil. Oil tends to soak into the leather, making the glove get heavy which defeats the purpose of a lightweight glove.

will the superskin glove be less stiff as the regular model? also, will it break down faster from use and become floppy quicker? asdfa
The Wilson A2000 Superskin gloves will be stiff, but a little easier to break-in compared to a regular A2000 glove. They will not become floppy very quickly and hold their shape very well.
Tyler
I have a relatively small 10 yr old (62 lbs) that plays full time travel. I'd like a glove that he can play with into high school. Should I go with this glove (11.5") or a youth model? Jim
Since he is on the smaller size we would recommend the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series: SCDW5SS Youth model.
Kara
Does this glove have Dri-lex Technology? K-Dawg
The Wilson A2000 Superskin Series: G4BSS will feature Wilson's Dri-Lex Technology. The Superskin on this glove model will provide you with a light weight feel and 2x the strength of conventional leather.

I have a Nokona Walnut Series Glove, a pretty legitimate glove. The pocket felt awkward and it was so stiff that after months and months of playing it still wouldnt feel right. SO...would this glove live up to they hype to a very active pitcher and player? Should i trade that one in for this? JMO34
The A2000 Series is a high-end line from Wilson and are commonly used at the Collegiate and Professional levels. They definitely live up to the hype.
Tyler
What are the differences/benefits of an I-Web pocket(BB1786SS) versus a Single Post Web(G4SS). Curious
The I-Webb and the single post webs are both preferred by infielders. The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: G4BSS pocket will hold up a little better than the BB1786SS because of extra post.
Kara
Is this glove a good fit for a person who plays second base and sometimes outfield Max
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: G4BSS would be a great glove for second base and could work in the outfield. The pocket is shallow enough to allow for a quick draw but flexible enough to hold onto a fly ball in the outfield.
Kevin

The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series has a shallow pocket for a quick transfer from glove to hand. It is more for a middle infielder to have a quick draw on turning the double play.
Chad M.

The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: G4BSS would be a great fit for your son. It can be used in the outfield or at third base.
Chad M.
I play 3rd base and outfield sometimes and I am 5'4" going into high school. Will this glove fit me? Keegan
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: G4BSS is an adult glove and is the preferred size for middle infielders. At 11.50", it is not recommended for outfield use.
John H
I play shortstop and second base. I have the Wilson super skin 1977 I web glove. Will this G4BSS be a good glove for these positions? I want to make sure that this glove has a shallow enough pocket. Question
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: G4BSS is a great choice for your positions. Keep in mind we have a 100 day warranty on our gloves. If you are not completely satisfied with your glove you may return it for a full refund or exchange.
Kara
How does this webbing compare to an I-web? Kobeast
The single post webbing on the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (G4BSS) will be similar in functionality to an I web design. They both will feature a shallow pocket to help ease transition from the glove to the throwing hand.
Patrick
Which glove will be closest in terms of size to the A1K DP15, the A2000 G4 or the A2000 1788? I heard that the A1K DP15 seems closer to an 11.25". Is this true? allstar
Yes, the A1K DP15 has a slightly smaller feel than other 11.50" patterns. If you're looking for an A2000 that lines up exactly to that model, I would recommend the 1788. Any glove ordered from us is backed by a 100 Day Guarantee. If you didn't like the fit or the feel, you could absolutely send it back for refund or exchange: https://www.justballgloves.com/returns/.
