Description

Since its introduction in 1957, the original Wilson A2000 Series has set the standard for premium quality ball gloves. Developed together with engineers, craftsmen and Major League players, the A2000 Series is the ultimate defensive tool. Used on MLB fields since 1998, the A2000 SuperSkin models were developed to be as lightweight as possible, without sacrificing performance or durability. SuperSkin repels moisture and reduces the overall weight of the glove while still being 2x stronger than conventional leather. The SuperSkin models strategically place American Pro Stock leather at certain points to give it even more rugged durability. This durability is enhanced even further with Dual-Welting pre-curved finger design that helps the pocket keep its shape and stay stable. This 11.50 Inch model features an I-Web and is ideal for infielders looking for a glove with the lightest possible play weight. Put millions of hours of passion for excellence in the palm of your hand with a Wilson A2000 SuperSkin glove! Wilson: The Official Glove of Major League Baseball. Free Shipping!

Pros: Amazing glove had ot for about 3 weeks now (got it from a wilson rep) super light. lighter then any meshback I have ever used. the Dual Welting really helps this glove keep it shape. The superskin is very tough and does not cause any loss in performance also does not get nearly as dirty as meshbacks. Great pro Stock leather broke it in; in just alittle over a week no oil or conditioner needed just played alot of catch. Was alittle tight on the wirst and fingers but after wearing two batting gloves while breaking it in it molded nicely. Love this glove if your serious about your game you can't go wrong with Wilson!

Pros: The A2000 1786 is simply the best 11.5" on the market and I've tried them all. Nothing feels and fits my hand better than the 1786 and I was a Rawlings die-hard prior to getting the A2000. Soft leather and easy break-in but stiff enough in the fingers to retain shape and not become floppy.

Cons: none at all

Brett
what type of leather is this? will it come real stiff or kinda soft? yop
The leather used in the palm and webbing is steerhide leather. The back of the glove (black part) is Wilson's Superskin material. It is lighter in weight than regular leather and just as durable. It also does a great job at repeling moisture. This glove will be moderately stiff out of the box and will require a full week or two to break-in.
Mark
What is superskin? does it come in a 11.75? How much does it weigh? What other gloves are closely related to this glove? Jake
SuperSkin repels moisture and and reduces the overall weight of the glove while still being 2x stronger than conventional leather. The SuperSkin models strategically place American Pro Stock leather at certain points to give it even more rugged durability. The 1787SS Model is a 11.75 inch model.
lkh
How does this glove compare to a Akadema Torino? Which glove has the best leather and which one is more durable? I heard that the a2000's leather feels like plastic, is it true? gonz13baseball
The SuperSkin is going to be light weight. It doesn't feel like plastic. I would give the Akadema series a slight edge over durablity because of the Kip leather.
K.B.
what is the difference between this glove and the A2000 superskin series 1787SS besides size and color? jbird
The BB1786SS is the newest model released by Wilson and teh 1787SS is last year's model. Besides that, the color and size, there really isn't any difference.
Ryan
Is the palm in this glove thicker than the 1788-BG Model a2000??? zman1234
We don't have the 1788-BG glove and I was unable to locate that specific model on Wilson's website. The Super Skin series has good padding and is very lightweight and durable.
K.B.
will this glove have more overall padding in the glove than the wilson a2000 1788-BG? Does it have good padding in the heel? cuz i owned the 1788-BG and it had virtually NO padding at all! flimzy12345
Yes. This glove will have excellent padding and be a very high quality mitt. The A2000 series is a very durable glove.
KG
will this glove have a small hand opening? i had the 1786 the old one and the hand opening was pretty big for a 12 year old. is there any way to tighten it? i pulled the wrist laces out as far as they would go and tied it and it was still the same. kinzy41
This is a very high quality glove with a smaller opening. You can make this glove have a tighter feel by adjusting the wrist strap.
KG
Do you guys embroider gloves to if we buy one from u. we have bought a bat from justbats and have had great service form them. brett
Sorry, we do not do any of that service.
KG
does this glove have a lot of palm padding? baseballboy
It has a nice amount of padding. Not too much and definitely not too little.
Linda
Which glove would be better for third base, this glove or the Rawling Pro Preferred series? Cameron
Both gloves are designed for infielders. Both are high quality, durable gloves. You can't go wrong with either one.
Kara
When will I get the glove wilson
If you place your order before 8pm central time, the order will still ship that day. Depending what part of the country you are, you will get the bat within 5 business days.
Linda
How long does it take to break in Hitoshi
Depends on how much you work with the glove. If you oil the glove and work with daily it shouldn't take very long.
John
Do you ship to Australia? Lukey
We do not ship to Australia
Sean

The 11.75 inch model in the SuperSkin Series is the BBEL3SS.
TJ
What is the difference between the A1000 and A2000? Have a 13yr serious ballplayer and need a glove that he'll be able to use for more than 1 season. I know price is different but what else? baseball mom
The A2000 is going to use higher quality leather and will be more durable than the A1000 models.
K.B.
will the fingers of this glove hold its shape and not become floppy? I know all gloves get floppy over time but are the fingers rigid? jpark
Yes, the fingers are going to be rigid on this glove
John
Hi. You answered a question previously regarding my left handed 11-year old son with his small hand and suggested the a2000 scb2, which seems very appropriate, but now my question is this. He wants the rawlings pro preferred. I am wondering which one would be more appropriate. He needs an outfielder and can't take it any bigger than 11.5 -11.75 and plays club ball and little league. Please help, Wilson a2000 scb2 or Rawlings pro preferred?? Thanks. Sarah
This is going to be more of a personal preference. Both of those gloves will be very durable and made of high quality leathers. These gloves will last him many seasons and hold their shape throughout the year.
KG
I have a 12 year old son that wants a glove. Which glove should I get him? The A2000 or the A2K? bssballpa
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series will be a little lighter weight than the Wilson A2K series. However, the A2K series is Wilson's top of the line glove. The leather will be a little stiffer, making it harder to break in, but will be very durable.
Kara
Is there a different feeling of this glove with the SupeSkin than a glove with all leather? EggoCoop
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS will have a very similar feel to a normal Wilson A2000. The SuperSkin is designed to repel moisture and reduce the overall weight of the glove. Here is a link to compare two different Wilson models. http://www.justballgloves.com/compare/
Tom
Would you say the SuperSkin material feels better than regular leather or is it a personal preference? Thanks wilsona39
The SuperSkin leather is only on the outer shell of the glove so it never actually comes in contact with your hand or the ball. The main benefit to the SuperSkin is that is makes the glove very light while the inside of the glove is still the high quality Wilson leather.
Tom
I am 16 and I am not an infielder but i need a glove. What glove can I use for everything? Is this glove good for this? money boy 495321
For a 16 year old utility player, the best and most common size glove is a 12" model.
Tyler
I've seen the 1786 listed as "youth", but it was also listed as 11.5" like the 1787. What is the difference between the 1786 and 1787? Marc
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is an adult model. There are two 1787 models. One is a youth model SC1787SS and one is an adult model A2000BB1787SS.
Kara
Which is lighter? This one or the Wilson DP15? beastmodeneversleeps
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS and the Wilson DP15 are very similar in weight.
Zach
Do you guys carry this glove without the SuperSkin? THE
The Wilson A2000 Series does come in a full leather model. The model number is A2000BB1786ST. We are currently out of stock, but we will be getting more in 2-3 weeks.
Nick
I am 12 years old playing on a tournament baseball team. I play pitcher and short stop. Is this a good glove for me? Do you have any other suggestions of gloves that I should consider? Thanks! baseballstud
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS would be a great choice for a 12 year old Pitcher/Short stop. This 11.50" model will have an Open Back and I-Web, preferred by Infielders. The Pro Stock Leather is strategically placed for durability. The SuperSkin is 2X stronger than leather. SuperSkin is lightweight and repels moisture. The Dual Welting will also help this glove keep its shape. Brandon
Would you recommend the SuperSkin 1786 or the normal one? What bonuses does the SuperSkin give? jaxon
SuperSkin is two times stronger than leather, repels moisture, and is lightweight. Those are the benefits of the SuperSkin on the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS.
Aubrey
Is this the best glove for a 15 year old short stop? general
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series is a great option for a 15 year old short stop. It is a very high quality glove that is very durable and it will hold its shape well.
Nick
High school sophmore pitcher second third base would this be an asset to my game? Nutt
At 11.5", the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is a good choice for your age and positions.
Tyler
Is this an ideal glove and size to play 3rd base in a mens league? If not what size and glove do you recommend? I was thinking maybe 11.75 to guard the line. 6ft tall 190 pds. Thank you!! Junior
For players at the High School level and above, 11.5" and 11.75" are the most common sizes for 3rd basemen. It really comes down to personal preference, but if it's been awhile since you played, or if you aren't overly confident in the field, I would go with an 11.75" model.
Tyler
What is the break in time? tex 24
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS will require a decent break-in time. SuperSkin is two times as strong as leather. I would suggest two to four weeks.
Frank
What is the best way to break this glove in? 2ndbase
http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-resource-guide/breaking-in-a-glove/
Tyler
I am a player who loves a really, really small pocket. Does this glove have a very small pocket? If not, what would you recommend. double play dan
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is an 11.5" glove with a shallow pocket great for infielders.
Tyler
Between the A2000 and Rawlings Pro Preferred, which glove will be stiffer and provide the best durability? I also like to bend the thumb part of my glove backwards and pinky part forwards. Will the A2000 Superskin be able to bend and mold to that position? glpve
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS would feel more stiff compared to the Rawlings Pro Preferred. The Pro Preferred will be made from a softer Kip leather. Both gloves may be hard to bend and shape the thumb and pinky stalls. Louisville Slugger has a series called the TPX Pro Flare Series that will come from the factory with the thumb and pinky already flared.
Brandon
What is the difference between this glove and 1787? Moragamaverick
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: BB1786SS is a 11.50" model, and the Wislon A2000 SuperSkin: BB1787SS is a 11.75" model. The gloves also have different color schemes.
Noah
Would this be good glove for a high school freshman playing 3rd? How do these compare to the Heart of the Hide gloves? Will the glove last longer due to SuperSkin? Also, could I play 3rd and shortstop with this glove? I have a big dingo
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Baseball Glove: BB1786SS features Pro Stock leather that is very similar in quality to the Heart of the Hide models. The SuperSkin is two times stronger than leather, so it would add to the durability. The 11.50" pattern is the recommended size for a shortstop and would be a great option for a third baseman.
Mac
Is the welting on this glove roll welting? nickname
The welting on the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Baseball Glove (BB1786SS) is not roll welting.
Sean
I know this glove is discontinued. My question is..Does super skin last as long as leather when it comes to moisture such as sweat in the palm? My son's hands sweat like there is no tomorrow and it wears out the inside of the palm of every glove he has ever worn. Does the super skin stand up to moisture? Bill
The SuperSkin on the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Baseball Glove (BB1786SS) gives the glove a lightweight feel without sacrificing durability. SuperSkin repels moisture and reduces the overall weight of the glove while still being 2x stronger than conventional leather. The SuperSkin models strategically place American Pro Stock leather at certain points to give it even more rugged durability.
