To break in the glove, I would recommend extensive use (catch, practice use, etc...). You only need to use oil and conditioner when you start to notice dryness in the leather of the this glove. Any oil or conditioner can be used on this glove when it becomes dry, just as long as it is used sparingly (to avoid weighing down the glove).

There is really not a glove that would be ideal for both a 2B and OF. Most middle infielders will use an 11.25 to 11.50 inch pattern while outfielders will use 12.00 and above. The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: A20RB151787SS would be the best option for both as it has an 11.75 inch pattern which is slightly larger than a usual middle infield glove and slightly smaller for OF use.
