Description

Since its introduction in 1957, the original Wilson A2000 Series has set the standard for premium quality ball gloves. Developed together with engineers, craftsmen and Major League players, the A2000 Series is the ultimate defensive tool. Used on MLB fields since 1998, the A2000 SuperSkin models were developed to be as lightweight as possible, without sacrificing performance or durability. SuperSkin repels moisture and reduces the overall weight of the glove while still being 2x stronger than conventional leather. The SuperSkin models strategically place American Pro Stock leather at certain points to give it even more rugged durability. This durability is enhanced even further with Dual-Welting pre-curved finger design that helps the pocket keep its shape and stay stable. This 11.50 Inch model features an I-Web and is ideal for infielders looking for a glove with the lightest possible play weight. Put millions of hours of passion for excellence in the palm of your hand with a Wilson A2000 SuperSkin glove! Wilson: The Official Glove of Major League Baseball. Free Shipping!

Pros: Great glove. I bought this for my 10 year old for his upcoming 11U season. When you take it out of the box, you first notice it is a good looking glove. You next notice that the leather is high quality. He has been playing with it for about several practices and it is almost broken in. The leather is firm enough that you know it will keep its shape for the long haul. But soft enough that it is molding to his hand very nicely. I think my son is now a Wilson fan for life.

Cons: Nothing yet. And I don't expect any issues. Great looking glove and it is breaking in nicely.

Yes. The Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove (A2000BBDP15GM) is the Dustin Pedroia model and will have a smaller hand opening and finger stalls. It also does not have the SuperSkin so will not be as light as the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786).

I am a 14 year old high school 3rd basemen. Would this be a good glove? How long does this "superskin" last? Ty
The SuperSkin material on the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786) is very durable and should last quite a while if taken care of. The 11.50 inch pattern would be serviceable at third base but perhaps a slightly longer glove would be beneficial.

It says I can buy a used version of this glove. I wanted to find out how used the glove would be. So, how used will the glove be? franklin37
All of our used gloves are priced according to their condition. With the used Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786) option being priced at $188.59, this means that this glove will likely have some wear on it. We really can't estimate how long it would take you to break-in the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786). But with this being a SuperSkin model, it should take less time to break-in than the standard A2000 models.
Mac
Is the A2000 SuperSkin series similar to the Rawlings HOH Pro Mesh Series? shortstop14
Both series are very similar in the sense they have been extremely popular, and will be high performing. The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series: (A2000BBSS1786) incorporates a slightly different material, including Pro Stock Leather and SuperSkin. The SuperSkin material is designed to repel moisture, and is extremely light weight. The Rawlings Heart of the Hide Pro Mesh Series: (PRO204DM) features Heart of the Hide Premium Soft Leather and a Pro Mesh Back. Overall, both models are designed to ensure player comfort, and will be long lasting with the types of materials that are used.

Would this glove be alright for outfield as well as infield because I play both, but like the I-web and the glove size. adam
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786) is an infield pattern designed for infield use. If you are around the age of 10-12, this may a suitable option for outfield use as well as infield. The 11.50" size is typically an infield size and the larger 12.00"+ would be used for outfield.
Kelby
Is this glove for normal sized hands? I am not interested in the DP model for smaller hands. Steve
Yes, the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786) features a standard Adult fit. It will not feature the more-snug Pedroia Fit like the DP15.
Mac
Which is better, SuperSkin or leather? Which one lasts longer? HazeMazeFaze
SuperSkin material like what is on the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786) is a lightweight, durable, and breathable material. It is lighter than traditional leather which makes it a preference of many players. However, some players prefer a more traditional feel of standard cow or steerhide leather.
Patrick
I was looking at this model and the DP 15 as well. I know the differences but how do I know if the DP 15 will fit. I am 13 years old and 5'1". Anthony
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786) features an 11.50 inch pattern in an adult size. The Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove (A20RB15DP15GM) will also feature an 11.50 inch pattern, however the finger stalls and wrist opening are much tighter than on the SuperSkin. For a player of your size, our glove coach would recommend the DP15.
Joe
I am looking at this glove for my 8 year old. He is an everyday player at shortstop and 3rd base. He also pitches when called upon. Is this a glove I should look at or stick with youth sizes? I want something that will last and have heard all good things about the A2000. JC
While the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786) is a great model and a well crafted design. In general, it is made for an adult player and would be too large and too tough to break-in for most players of his age.
Patrick
I'm a high school freshman and am looking for a glove that will last me through high school. Would you recommend this glove? I play middle infield. Nick G
The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A2000BBSS1786) would be a great and durable option for that position and level of play. If taken care of, you should have no trouble using that through high school.
