Wilson offers an unbeatable performance by spending time at softball diamonds with hundreds of players. Taking what they learn, Wilson creates a glove line that meets the needs of players. For example, the inside of the A2000 glove fits your hand and the pocket fits the ball you use. Made from Pro Stock Leather, American Steer hide, the A2000 Series features rugged durability and unmatched feel. It's truly the perfect ball glove leather. And on top of that, Wilson combines its Pro Stock Leather with their proprietary SuperSkin leather. This leather is 2x stronger and lighter than leather, giving the A2000 an overall lighter feel. These gloves also feature dual welting along the exposed edges of the leather, providing a long lasting, durable pocket. There's no doubt the A2000 Fastpitch line will outperform and outlast all others! Wilson: Win More! Free Shipping!

Why has this glove been discontinued? What similar glove would you recommend for a freshman first baseman/outfielder?
creed
The Wilson A2000 Series (FP1275SS) has been discontinued because Wilson will be releasing their new line on July 1st.
Kara
Can this glove be used for male soft pitch softball or should I go with a baseball glove? I am trying to find an A2000 for soft pitch outfield.
Rolando
The Wilson A2000 Series (FP1275SS) is a fastpitch glove, which means that it will have narrower finger stalls and smaller wrist openings, with a female hand in mind. There is a chance that it may be too small for your hand. Following along that line of thought, going with a baseball glove may be a better fit for you.

About the Brand
A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. At one point, the enterprise became known as the Thomas E. Wilson Co., taking the name of an early chief executive. In 1931, the name was changed to Wilson Sporting Goods Co.
Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.

Need Help Finding a Glove?
We know that buying a glove might not be easy, but we are here to help!
Yes, JustGloves.com will price match a competitor's listed price!
To do so, we verify some information. If you see an item listed at a lower price elsewhere, this is all we require:
We must verify that the website you want to price match is legitimate and an authorized dealer of the products they sell.
We must confirm that the competitor has the same size and product in stock and ready to ship. If the same size and product is out of stock on the competitor's website, we are unable to match their price.
We must confirm if the competitor charges sales tax and/or shipping fees since these are added to the final price of the product.
Lastly, our Glove Experts must check on the cost we pay to stock the item from the manufacturer. The price match must cover that manufacturer cost for the item.
We have the final decision for matching an online price.
Did you purchase a product from us, but noticed that it is now at a lower price? Please let us know, and we will honor our lowest price within the past 30 days by issuing a refund for the price difference or adjusting the price for you over the phone.

This not only allows for a better grip on the bat, but it also makes the gloves more durable as it eliminates much of the stress on the leather that can cause tears. The mesh is also vented to allow moisture and heat to be directed away from the fingers, never compromising your grip on the bat. The palm of the batting glove is constructed of premium grade sheepskin leather. This leather gives a great grip while maintaining it's flexibility.
