Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove: A2403BB1791ST Catcher's Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

is this mitt better than the A2403 1791BLD or the A2403 1791-BG, and whats the difference between this glove and the two i just mentioned? austen
The A2403BB1791ST is going to be the best glove out of all of these. It is going to have the best durability and the best padding. The A2403BB1791ST is going to be a newer glove. It uses a newer technology for durability.
Brett
why cant i find this glove on the wilson website? and what are the main differences between this and the A2403 1791BLD austen
These gloves are the same glove. The difference is in the color of the glove. It's just a matter of which color you like.
Kris
I use a 34" HOH; will I get used to this pattern or should I choose a 33.5 (is there a big difference between a 33.5 and a 34?) catcher1313
This will be a personal preference, we do allow you to return a glove within 100 days if you do not like the fit. The 34.00 will be a little bigger, but again it will be up to the player.
KG
Is this glove better than the new Heart of the Hide Rawlings catchers mitt please be honest #1 Catcher
This glove will be very similar to the Rawlings Heart of the Hide. They are very durable gloves and will be a light weight glove. This glove has very good padding just like the Heart of the Hide has.
KG
Which glove would you rather have this one or the rawlings heart of the hide. Also I dont care that it takes 5 months to break in thanks please be honest #1 Catcher
Man, tough call, both are excellent gloves. But if I were to be honest, I'd choose this one the Wilson.
Linda
I will be playing College ball next year and I wanted to know if you would recommend this mitt? Should I go with a bigger mitt? What about a 33.50 or 34? College bound
The A2403BB1791ST is a very durable mitt and will be a great mitt for College play. This glove is very durable and has thick padding. Choosing a size depends on what feels best for you.
Kris
I owned a A2000 about 4 years ago but decided to change to a Rawlings because I didnt feel it had enough padding. Have you improved on this at all? If so how does it compare to the Rawlings Heart of the Hide which seemed to have significantly more. dave
We get the gloves directly from the manufacturer so we have no control over the amount of padding in each glove. The amount of padding in the current Wilson A2000's will be very comparable to the amount of padding they had 4 years ago, but they do have larger pockets so you have more room to catch the ball without causing discomfort to your hand.
Tom
Is it okay for a 15 year old to used a 34" catchers mitt? Idonthaveanickname
Yes, a 15 yr old player would be able to use a 34" catcher's mitt just fine, although a slightly smaller mitt will allow him to get rid of the ball quicker.
Tom
Which would be a better glove, the Wilson A2000 series catchers mitt, or the Wilson Pudge catchers mitt? G
Both the Wilson A2000 and the A2K are great choices. The A2K features higher quality leather and craftsmanship.
Justin R.
Is this glove good for a 12 year old catcher? How long will it take to break in? jordy
The Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove: A2403BB1791ST Catcher's Mitt is an adult mitt intended for players 12 and up. Unless the player is particularly small, it is a great choice. Due to the high quality of the Pro Stock American Steerhide used to craft this glove, it will take quite some time to break in, but you should see great durability out of it.
Katie
can i buy two gloves, break them both in and send back the one i don't like for a full refund on that one glove? Chris
Yes. We understand how hard it can be buying gloves online, therefore, we have a 100 day glove guarantee policy to help make buying online a little easier. This means that you have 100 days to use the glove, break them in, and decide if you would like to keep them. If not, we can still go ahead and refund you, or exchange it out for a different glove.
