Pros: Great for personal breaking in. Hard to find the I pocket on a larger glove(11 3/4") but I was very lucky to find this glove. Great Third Base and Shortstop glove because of its size.

Cons: Narrow fingers, but after a week or so of solid throwing with the glove, your fingers fit perfectly in the glove.

Pros: It has a great pocket and keeps it's form well. It is light and tight on the hand which I love. It comes pretty stiff so you are able to break it in how you want to. I absolutely love it.

Pros: Soft feel, holds its shape well whether you flare it or roll it.

Cons: I wish it were a little tighter, sounds weird I know, but I like gloves to be extra tight.

Pros: This glove is great, I actually prefer it over any of the A2000's or A2K's. I've had this glove for a whole season now, I use it to pitch. I threw my first no-hitter with this glove!

Cons: NONE

hello

Pros: This glove is very stylish, breaks in really quick, and has the tight fit that I was looking for.

Cons: The glove does not have very good quality leather, i could tell immediately right out of the box. It also has a small pocket so you need time to actually form it before you use it in games. Also, the palm has no padding because of the thin heel pad, and creased very easily. Overall its an average glove at its price.

Pros: Looks great, feels alright, utilizes a2k technologies, holds shape pretty well

Cons: Not a very good quality leather, the palm creases very easily, the lacing feels like plastic more than actual leather.

Cons: Measures closer to 11.5" than the stamped 11.75"

Damon
Is the actual glove slightly smaller than the A2000 and A2K gloves, or are the hand openings and finger slots just smaller? ripitallday
The Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB41787 has smaller hand openings and finger slots. The glove is the same size.
Kara
Is there a difference in quality when comparing the A1K and the A2000 DP15? Stew
The Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB41787 and the A2000 DP15 are similar in quality. They will both be durable. The main difference is the Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB41787 has narrower finger stalls.
Kara
Does the A1K use the same leather as the A2000 or A2K? Jt
The Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB41787 features the same exact patterns used on Wilson's legendary A2K and A2000 models.
Brandon
What is better the Wilson A1K or the Wilson A2K? rodger
Both are really great glove lines. A major difference in the Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB41787 will be the more snug fit compared to the A2K series.
Brandon
Will this be an effective glove for a fastpitch player? There aren't a lot of options for the ladies with an I-web. Looking for something for a middle infielder. FPDad
The Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB41787 is technically a baseball pattern, but with a little shaping, you could likelys stretch out the pocket to accommodate the larger softball diameter. It has a tighter fit than other Adult baseball models, so it the fit will be closer to a fastpitch model. There aren't many options, but we do have three good options for Fastpitch middle infield gloves with the I-Web: http://goo.gl/m7rG8a
Mac
I'm replacing a Wilson A1000 Showcase for my 10 year old son. I see that Wilson no longer offers the Showcase Series. Does the A1K replace the Showcase Series and is it intended for this age bracket? Nick
The Wilson A1K Series did replace the Showcase Series and is intended to fit smaller hands.
Tori
What would be the closest comparison for the leather quality on this glove? MattDavid23
The Wilson A1K series features very high quality leather. The selection process for the leather is not as meticulous as the process to select the leather found in the A2000s and the A2Ks. With the A1Ks you will be getting a very durable glove that can last several years, but the leather quality will be more comparable to what you would find in Rawlings REVO 950 series or the Mizuno Global Elite Series.
Justin R.
Why doesn't Wilson make a Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) for a left hander? The only option seems to be to order custom? What gives? Mo
Unfortunately, that seems like a question best answered by Wilson directly. They can be reached at: (800) 874-5930. But I am assuming that the 11.75" model, especially with that web style, is more of an infielder's model. And at many levels of baseball, the only left handed players that play a non-pitching infield position tend to be first basemen.
Mac
Both of my sons love their SC1787SS. What would be the closest glove to that model? Also, do they make the A1K with SuperSkin? cb5
This Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) would be a pretty similar glove to the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Showcase Series (SC1787SS) in Wilson's current product line. Unfortunately, the A1K Series is not produced with SuperSkin. But this (A1KBB41787) would offer the same I-Web, similar snug fit on the players' hands, but a larger 11.75" pattern size when compared to the (SC1787SS). Typically 1787 models are all 11.75", but the (SC1787SS) was actually an 11.50" glove. Because of this, the (A1KBB4DP15) would be the most similar glove you can get. Mac
Is this glove good for outfield? StickMan
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) is designed mostly for infielders. However, it would be a good choice for youth outfielder.
Bobby
hi i play third small hands like to feel the ball this or the wilsona2000 dp15 amsterdam pirates #68
Both gloves have will fit your hand about the same way. For a third baseman I would recommend the Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) as its 11.75" pattern is better suited for that position. The DP15 will be better for a middle infielder.
Bobby
I am 16 years old, i have small hands so i need a tighter fitting glove. I play mostly second base, but also a decent amount of outfield. Would you recommend this glove or something else. Jackie Baseball
Yes. The Wilson A1K Series: A1KBB41787 would be perfect for that position and it has narrower finger stalls and a smaller hand opening if you need a tighter fit.
Damon
I have big hands. Will the A1K work for me? Kyle
In general, Wilson tends to run a little bit smaller for glove sizing. Therefore, it is relatively hard to determine. However, the Wilson A1K Series: (A1KBB41787) is an excellent model, and will be high performing.
Merritt
Does this glove have long laces for clicking? asfas
The Wilson A1K Series: (A1KBB41787) will feature longer laces into its design.
Merritt
I'm 11 and the A2000 series gloves are a little to big for me, will the A1K be good for me? I'm looking for a nice glove. Case
Yes, the Wilson A1K (A1KBB41787) will be a very good glove for an 11 year old baseball player. The A1K gloves feature finger stalls that are more narrow than the A2000 gloves to give the glove a tighter feel.
Sean
Would this glove be ideal for a 18 year old high school shortstop? BJ Baseball
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) would be the a good option. It will have a smaller hand opening and finger stalls for a more snug fit. If you like a tight fitting glove, this would be good option.
Kelby
I'm looking for a glove for my 10 year old. Small hands; plays SS and 2B. What model and size would be good for him? Is the A1K the right glove for him? arnel
The A1K Series would be a high quality option that is designed to fit more snug on the player's hand. At 10 years old, this should provide a good fit. I would recommend either the 11.25" or 11.50" pattern sizes for his age and positions. In the A1K Series, the 11.25" model is the (A1KBB41788) while the 11.50" options are the (A1KBB4OTIF) and (A1KBB4DP15).
Mac
I play Center Field, Right Field, Second Base, Shortstop, and Third Base and will be 13 when the next season starts. Will this be a great choice for me. Will
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) is a great transition glove for players between youth and adult models. For your age and positions we would recommend a 11.75" model, so this should be a good fit!
Damon
What is the break-in time for this glove? kmags
Typically, the Wilson A1K (A1KBB41787) will break-in within 3-4 weeks, but, it really depends on how often the glove is used and if glove oil is used in the break in process.
Sean
Does this have a shock absorbing pad in the palm? Will
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) will have some padding, but the glove features of this model do not mention any specific shock absorbing padding.
Brandon
I already have a Dustin P A2000 but it feels too short for 3rd base and I'm looking for a new one and i was wondering which is better the a1k, a2k, or the a2000? Francis
The Wilson A2K Series uses Wilson's highest quality leather followed by the Wilson A2000 Series and the A1K Series. The Wilson A1K Series is more of a transitional series meant for players transitioning from youth to adult gloves.
Damon
I cannot decide between this and the All Star 11.75" infielders model. Does this have anything like the Pro Guard Padding in the palm like the All Star gloves? Can you help me decide? Will
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) would not offer the same kind of palm padding technology that is provided by the All Star System Seven Series. The big difference between these two glove lines will be the fit. The A1K Series offers the more-snug Pedroia Fit, so it has a smaller hand opening and narrow finger stalls. The All Star models would provide a standard adult fit.
Mac
Does this glove have anything in the palm to reduce stinging from the ball? Will
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) doesn't feature any additional padding technology in the palm like some other Series (A2K, for example with the Double Palm Construction). But we really haven't received any negative reviews indicating that the glove is lacking in padding.
Mac
How well would this glove fit a 13 year old with smaller hands and wrist? Is the difference in this and the A2000 just the leather? Tyler
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) will be created to fit a smaller hand and wrist. The A2000's are created to fit regular wrist and hand sizes. Also, the A2000 Pro Stock leather will be high performing.
Brandon
Do all A1K gloves feature the Pedrioa Fit of the A2000 DP15? hitter
That's correct. Each model in the A1K Series features the Pedroia Fit which offers a snug fit.
Mac
Does this glove have dual welting like the A2000 DP15? Tyler
Yes, the Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) does feature dual welting similar to the A2000 DP15 model.
Kelby
Can you go 2 in the pinky with this glove? What is the difference between this and the Wilson A2000 DP15? Swagfactor
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) is fine to use with that style of finger placement. The main difference between the A1K and the Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove (A20RB15DP15GM) is that it is an 11.75 inch size rather than the 11.5 inch size of the DP15. There is also a slightly higher quality leather featured on the A2000.
Patrick
Would this glove be good for high school baseball? Will it be durable enough to perform well at that level? John
The Jet Black Top Shelf Leather in the Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) will offer great durability. And this Series could be used by a high school player who likes a tighter fit on their hand.
Mac
My son is an 12 year old outfielder. Do you think the 12.25" would be a good match for him? fostman
Yes, we would recommend a 12.25"-12.5" model for a player his age. The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) is ideal for a player his age because of the snug fit for the finger stalls.
John
What's the difference between this glove and the A2K? Jayson
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) will differ from the A2K Series most notably in the quality of leather used to construct the glove. All A2K gloves are made from the top 5% of Wilson's Pro Stock Select leather. The A2K leather produces a stiffer feel than the leather that is used for A1Ks. Therefore, A1Ks have quicker break-in periods and are used as transition models for players moving from junior high into high school (due to the A1Ks' narrower finger stalls).
Ben
Would this be a good glove for college? YardRaker87
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) would be a great quality and design for use in college play.
Patrick
Would this glove or the Akedema Precision Series (ASB104) be better for a 13 year old elite travel player? Ball player
Both the Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) or the Akedema Precision Series (ASB104) would both be nice options. The I web on the A1K would probably be a bit better for an infielder while the Precision Series' modified T web would be slightly better for outfield. Both gloves could be used for either position but they would be a bit better suited for those positions.
Patrick
If i have average-larger size hand will this glove still be good for me? Would it be to short on the fingers or would it just have a tighter fit? jwdewulf
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) will have shorter finger stalls, as well as having an all around tighter fit to it. I would not recommend this glove for a player with larger hands.
Liz
Doe the finger slots have a soft feel to them? Mike
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) has a nice feel and is soft compared to other steerhide gloves.
Patrick
Is the leather in this type of glove stiff or is it soft ace
Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) will have softer leather with a quick break in period.
Damon
I looking for a glove for next season. I will be 12. I play 3rd base and shortstop. It needs to last 2 or 3 seasons that are each about 50 games. Should I get this or the A2000 1787? Baseballbeast19
If you have smaller hands and do not feel like they will be growing significantly within the time that you need the glove to last, the Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) could be a nice option. However, the more adult style of the Wilson A2000 Series (A2000BB1787) would probably work for a more long term option.
Patrick
How big is the difference in the leather quality in this glove compared to an A2000? ryan
The Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) will have fairly similar quality leather to the A2000 line but would be a bit more game ready out of the box which can take away slightly from the durability of the glove.
Patrick
Can this glove be customized? Could it be laced with blue instead of black? alex T
Unfortunately we do not offer any type of customization. We sell all of our gloves exactly how we receive them from the manufacturer.
John
Which A1K do you think is best for a 15 year old that plays high school baseball and likes 2 in the pinky? robert
Which model of the A1K line like the Wilson A1K Series (A1KBB41787) that we would recommend would be based on the position or positions the player plays. The inside fit of the glove should be the same for most models. If he likes that style of use of the glove, he would need to have smaller hands for it to work in the A1K line because they are made for smaller hands.
