Description

Vinci Pro gloves are the finest handcrafted gloves on the market and are designed with quality in mind. You can have the same quality the professionals wear with a Vinci. Individually handcrafted by Master Craftsman with years of experience and training, The Custom Pro Junior Series utilizes pro patterned gloves with pro-grade leather palms. On the back of the glove we utilized lightweight, softer leather for a lighter weight for a child and "ease of squeeze" for the youth player. Our Custom Pro Junior Series leather is pre-treated at the factory allowing for a much shorter break in time. Our high-quality leather allows our gloves to be durable, yet playable and retain their shape longer. Vinci's exclusive deep pocket design allows for better control and less spin. They also come with a heavy-duty thumb. More than just a glove, every model number, and signature has a meaning. Each Vinci Pro model is dedicated to Benjamin Vinci, a father, grandfather and WWII Veteran who left a great impact on so many people. You can find Benjamin Vinci's signature on each glove we make. He is the reason behind this company, so when you use a Vinci Pro glove, know that the story behind your glove is the story of an American hero. Put on a Vinci Pro glove and "Make the Play!" Pros: A real leather youth glove that looks and feels like a pro glove. Very little break in time. Glove was fairly easy to squeeze by a 7year old right out of the wrapper. This is a must have for your kid playing baseball! No other youth glove can compare.

Cons: None.

Pros: This glove is exactly what I was looking for. I purchased it for my 7 year old and am so impressed with it that I am ordering one for my 6 year old as well. Don't waste your money on multiple gloves like I did and just buy this one.

Cons: Not really a con, but you will have to break this glove in properly, which took us about 2-3 days.

Pros: I bought the 10.5" for my 9 yr old and like it so much I bought the 11" for my 11yr old. This is an adult quality glove in youth sizes, more so than others we have owned (6 manufacturers). The palm leather and lacing are sturdy and take a little more breaking in time than other models, but look to last much longer. On sizing I note--and this is preference--my 9 yr old plays SS and the 10.5" should last him a few more years before he moves up in size. Both kids love the look and feel of the gloves.

Pros: The best 10-11 inch youth glove for the money. I think Nokona might make a higher quality 10-11 inch, but it is A LOT more expensive. This one is leaps and bounds above the Rawlings,Wilson pleather gloves you find at your local sporting goods store.

Cons: Don't think your getting the same quality as an adult Vinci. The glove is thin and I was reluctant to give it 5 stars. The reason I ended up giving it the max number is because I understand the glove is so thin for break-in purposes for a 5-7 year old. In the end, probably the best option for the price, for that size range. Lastly, more of a cosmetic thing, but the webbing bugs me, a Vinci rep told me it reduces spin, I just don't care for the look.

Pros: The glove is easy to Break in and has a very soft leather. The pocket forms nicely and it fits a small hand well. I bought this for my 7 year old who is playing travel ball and it appears that it will be a good glove for him this season. May look to go up to a 11 inch glove next season however.

Cons: My only concern is that the leather is so soft that the fingers give a little bit and I am concerned that a hard line drive will bend them back rather than stop it. But we will see.

Pros: This is a great youth glove. I would recommend it to any child from age 6 to 8. My son is 6 and just starting to get serious about baseball. It fits well and a good break in will form a great pocket. My son loves it and it looks great.

Cons: I'd say "game ready" is a stretch on this glove. You need a least a week of playing catch for a good break in.

Pros: Bought this glove after trying many different options for my 7 (now 8) year old. Takes a little more break-in effort than some of the fake leather gloves you find for kids, but still quick to break in, and well worth the effort. On our second season, and the glove is fantastic. Durable and performs incredibly well. Perfect size, and it is really easy to quickly get the ball out of the glove after it is caught for a fast throw to a base. The only pro-style glove that is designed for kids that I have found. So much better than buying oversized gloves that really hinder performance.

Pros: Great size for 6-7 year old, glove is well made compared to other youth gloves. Would recommend over a throw away game ready glove.

Pros: My 5-year old loves it. He actually catches the ball now. His brothers worked on it with a mallet and got it really flexible. Great glove for small kids.

Cons: Palm is pretty thin. Binding is stiff (plastic), makes the hinge a little funky. Beat on it for a while.

Pros: I bought this glove for my son's 7th birthday. I'm no expert, but the glove seems extremely well-made and the leather is soft and supple. To me, it looks and feels like a glove that could cost four times the price. It took about a week break-in and make it game ready.

Cons: None.

Very well made glove Jeremiah N parent

Pros: Looks and feels like a well made professional glove. I bought this for my six year old who has started playing competitive baseball and wore his first glove out last year. I am giving it to him for Christmas so he will be the one giving the final review, but I love it so far.

Cons: The glove is pretty stiff and will need some breaking in especially for a six year old's small hands. I would expect a well made glove to need some breaking in though.

Pros: --Sizing, including finger stalls, is perfect for 6-7 year old --soft leather, easy break in --quality construction without any of the plastic or mesh you find on most cheap youth gloves

Cons: --break-in on the bottom half of the I-web took some time --after 2 spring seasons and one fall, the pinky has become very soft, almost floppy; concerned it's become a liability on hard throws and lines drives --due to soft leather, shape has been lost somewhat; this is also due to my son still learning break-in and care, but the pocket did not stay open as much as desired for a youth glove

Pros: Based on the numerous positive reviews, I bought this glove for my 7yo (average sized kid; about a month away from 8th bday). I was on the fence between this glove and the larger 11" Vinci BRV1953 but since several folks here said they'd bought it for their 8 and 9yos, I figured it would be something he could grow into. Long story short, it was too small for him. That said, it felt like a nice, lightweight leather glove and of a much higher quality than what you could buy at local big box/sporting goods stores. Lacing seemed to be of a lesser quality leather compared to the rest of the glove (though I don't know if that truly matters for this age range). Wish I'd bought this for his first glove a couple of years ago... I returned it for the BRV1953 (justballgloves.com return service is great!) and couldn't be happier with it for the price.

Cons: None.

great transitionsl glove DStubbs parent

Pros: My 8 year old son loves this glove so far. Im somewhat of an expensive glove hoarder so naturally he wants an A2K or Heart of the hide but his hands are to small and those gloves are to stiff and heavy. He absolutey hates 99% of gloves designed for his age but this Vinci gives him the look and feel he wants but also has a small hand opening and light weight outer leather.

Cons: the laces are thin snd dont feel like lesther. i doubt they will last long but ill just relace it for him if that hsppens.

Pros: I bought this glove for my son a couple years ago and it immediately became his favorite glove. He used it for 3 seasons of coach pitch. I would recommend this glove for any kid age 6-8. Especially if your child is playing mostly infield, as it makes a great middle infielder's glove. This year my son is moving up to kid pitch, so we went with the Rawlings GG Gamer G1100MO. I can only hope it provides him with as many seasons as this Vinci glove did.

Cons: None! This is truly a great glove!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1957 Youth? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I am undecided on the Vinci Pro 10.5" or the 11" for my 7 yo son. He is on the smallish side and plays middle infield. I would like for him to use the glove for a few years. kyop
This is a great link that we have that helps decide what glove would be best for someone: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Brett
I my son is tall for a 7 year old (4'7") he turns 8 in December. My question is will he quickly outgrow this glove? mhilgtx
Yes, a kid growing that fast probably won't be able to stay in a 10.5inch glove for all that long. Maybe a year or two.
Mark
What size would you suggest for an 8 1/2 year old boy? Sarah
We would suggest 10inch to 11inch.
Ryan
My son is going to be 7 but is little for his age. Would this be a good size glove for him or something else? isaac
I recommend giving our Glove Coach a try. It's a great tool: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Tyler
My son is 8 plays ss on 9u travel team and he is going to play about 70 games this season. Is this a good choice for him? Matt
This glove should last at least through his whole season, as long as he takes care of the glove. Just take the proper steps to oiling, and breaking in the glove, and it should last almost two seasons.
Noah
Would this be a good glove for a 6 year old? Rich
We recommend a 10.00" glove like the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1961 Youth.
Kara
I purchased a Rawlings 11" Gold Glove Pro Taper for my 7-1/2 year old. He will be playing 8U select this year. We are having a hard time breaking it in and I feel it it too big. Do you think this Vinci in a 10.5" would be a good choice to get through this year? If so what is the best way to break in quickly? ron mexico
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1957 Youth would be an excellent choice for his age. It will be game ready.
Kara
Do you think this glove would be too small for a average sized 10 year old infielder? bbdad
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957) may be a little small. Based on his age, we would recommend using an 11'' glove. For more information on sizing please visit our Glove Coach at http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/.
Tori
Is this glove good for a 10 year old who plays shortstop in travel ball 10.5? If not, what would you recommend? He has small hands. bases are loaded
This would be a good model for a player of that age and position. The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957) has narrow finger stalls and is intended for youth infielders.
Gary T.
What size glove do you recommend for a seven year old (will be 7 next week but he's a little above average in size)? He will probably play infield but he's left handed so he could play outfield too. JR
Generally, for that age of a player, we would suggest a youth model glove between 10.5 and 11 inches in size. If you wanted added length for the outfield, you could go up to an 11.25 inch or 11.5 inch glove as well. The 10.5 inch Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957) Youth model would be a good size for an infielder at that age.
Patrick
I'm 12 almost 13. What size do you recommend and do you have any other gloves you recommend? bmxking
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957) is a youth glove and not recommended for your age. The size of the glove is best determined by the position of the player. Check out our glove coach for correct sizing for your age and position; http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
Kara
Do you suggest paying for glove steaming to help break this glove in? Is the added expense unnecessary? Thezenbat
Generally, glove steaming is not a procedure I would recommend for the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: (BRV1957). Leather should be treated like skin, therefore excessive heat has the potential to harm the glove and cause damage. If you are looking to break the glove in, a safer way to would be to use traditional glove oil.
Merritt
Debating between Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1957 and Vinci Brv1953 11 Inch Junior/youth Baseball Glove. Is the only difference the size and web? dag
Yes. The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957) is a 10.5 inch I-web design and the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) is an 11 inch basket web design.
Patrick
Would this glove be too small for a 7 1/2 yr old? My son is 4 ft. tall and weighs about 48 lbs. mj
For your son's age, a 10"-10.5" glove would be the recommended size. The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957) Youth glove is 10.5". Any glove between 10"-11" should work fine.
Chinyere
My 7 year old son is average size. Would you recommend the BRV1957 or BRV1953 model for him? Just want to know if the 11" would be too large or if he would outgrow the 10.50" quickly. parny1
I would suggest going with the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957 Youth). The 10.50" form factor on the BRV1957 would best suit him and probably give him a good two seasons of use before it's time to step up to a bigger glove.
Jake
My 5 year old son is already playing with a 10.5" glove. I would like to know if the Vinci Pro would be good for his age? dtank
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957 Youth) is a good youth model for his age in 10.5 inches.
Allison
I'm interested in comparing this glove to the slightly larger, Rawlings GG Gamer XLE Pro Mesh Series: G107PTLE. My son was using an 11 inch Mizuno which he, at times, had trouble keeping the ball in his glove when it was thrown to him. I was concerned that maybe the glove was too large. My son is turning 7 in a couple months and is 4 foot 3 and weighs 85 pounds. He plays mostly first, with some outfield and some third and short. Would he benefit from a glove with a deeper pocket or just a slightly smaller glove to control? Which of these two gloves would be the better fit for him? Which would be more durable? Tony
Durability between the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1957) and the Rawlings GG Gamer XLE Pro Mesh Series (G107PTLE) should be very similar. If he is having trouble securely catching the ball but not getting the glove to where it needs to be, I would say maybe a larger glove with a deeper pocket could help. Both of the models that you mentioned were smaller with a more shallow pocket which may make it easier to maneuver but harder to secure the catch. Based on the problem you described, I am not sure a smaller glove is the answer.
Patrick
Other than size, how does this glove compare to the Shoeless Joe? I have a small 6 year old that plays middle infield. colby
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1957 Youth will be similar to the Shoeless Joe models of similar length (10.50"). Each of these types of gloves will feature a 90% factory break-in, if not more. The main difference between the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1957 Youth and any Shoeless Joe model is going to be the game worn look and feel as well as the hand rubbed Old Time ingredients to soften the leather with the Shoeless Joe gloves.
Cameron
What is the return policy? johnny baseball
The return policy for the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1957 Youth will have the same 100 day money back guarantee that all of our glove carry. You can break it in and use the glove and if you still do not love it, you can return it for a refund or put it towards an exchange.
Tyler
BRV1957 or BRV1953 for my 8 yr who plays infield as well as outfield? jeff
Both of the gloves would be solid options. The only major difference is that the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1957 Youth will have an I-Web while the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1953 Youth utilizes a weaved web.
