Description

Vinci Pro gloves are the finest handcrafted gloves on the market and are designed with quality in mind. You can have the same quality the professionals wear with a Vinci. Individually handcrafted by Master Craftsman with years of experience and training, The Custom Pro Junior Series utilizes pro patterned gloves with pro-grade leather palms. On the back of the glove we utilized lightweight, softer leather for a lighter weight for a child and "ease of squeeze" for the youth player. Our Custom Pro Junior Series leather is pre-treated at the factory allowing for a much shorter break in time. Our high-quality leather allows our gloves to be durable, yet playable and retain their shape longer. Vinci's exclusive deep pocket design allows for better control and less spin. They also come with a heavy-duty thumb. More than just a glove, every model number, and signature has a meaning. Each Vinci Pro model is dedicated to Benjamin Vinci, a father, grandfather and WWII Veteran who left a great impact on so many people. You can find Benjamin Vinci's signature on each glove we make. He is the reason behind this company, so when you use a Vinci Pro glove, know that the story behind your glove is the story of an American hero. Put on a Vinci Pro glove and "Make the Play!" Pros: My son plays travel ball as a 7yr old and its been hard finding a good leather glove because his hand is small. he had a nike glove and the web broke after one season. The vinci glove is more then i expected great glove very soft leather he was able to catch well with it out of the box. I have since put leather condtioner and tied the glove and man this glove is good perfect for a competitive youth baseball player

Cons: none great glove

Pros: I coach a 9U travel team and bought this glove for my son. The glove is light and playable right out of the box. There is just enough palm padding without making the glove stiff. We have owned Akadema, Rawlings, Wilson and Glovesmith baseball gloves, and this is the best youth baseball glove for the money with Glovesmith being second.

Pros: Soft leather on back, makes glove very light and easy to break in. Probably best for 8-10 y.o. pocket is deep, works for multi-position player, esp 1st and outfield.

Cons: None right now. My son loves it.

Pros: Great glove out of the box - very little break in time. We've tried mizunos and rawlings and would buy this glove every time

Pros: Bought a 10.5" for my 9 year old and liked it so much I bought this 11" for my 11 year old. Both love the look and feel of the gloves. Adult quality construction in a youth glove; the palm and lace construction is much sturdier than most other brands. Highly recommend.

Julian's Dad

Pros: My son will be 8 in March and he is had a Wilson last year. He played centerfield and 3rd base, everytime he would catch a screamimg line drive he would take his hand out of the glove and shake his hand because of the sting. We switched to the Vinci Pro glove and he look like Jim Edmonds or Torry Hunter out there!!! He loves this glove!!! GREAT PRICE! EASY BREAK-IN

Cons: I WISH I WOULD'VE KNOWN ABOUT "VINCI PRO" BEFORE BUYING AN EXPENSIVE WILSON...

Pros: Best glove I've bought either of my sons, worth every $. Very soft leather, almost game ready out of the box. After a little prep with glove kit, my 8yr old was able to easily control glove and mentioned the balls didnt sting with this glove.

Cons: none. Best glove I've bought to date.

Pros: I ordered this glove for my 7 year old on a Sunday night and had it on Wednesday. Vinci makes a great glove at a great price. Fit and finish are second to none. It was playable out of the box and only took me a couple of days to break it in the way I wanted it.

Scoop

Pros: As everyone has said the glove is lightweight and playable out of the box with a decent pocket. My 7 year old was able to use it the next day with literally no break in period.

Cons: The same things that make this playable out of the box I think contribute to these cons. It seems as though the glove is almost too lightweight. The fingers tend to give or bend when catching hard throws and line drives. There is also very little padding in the palm and he already has a broken blood vessel to show for it. The last issue I had was that the lacing was very loose in the fingers and the knots were not pulled tight. Within two days the thumb lacing retracted in the glove and I had to re-lace it.

Pros: Nice glove, ready to play out of the box. My 10 y.o. loves it..

Cons: None so far, but being so soft to begin with, I wonder how long it will last..

Pros: Good right out of the box.

Cons: After two seasons, it's almost too soft. Looks like they use thinner leather on the outside than on the palm of the glove. I think if they use the same for the entire glove it would be more "pro" style.

Pros: I chose this glove for my 8 year old. After one season of hard use, we are still happy with it. The extra soft (thin) leather on the back keeps the weight down, and really helped with the break in. The fingers a little stiffer than the Louisville Slugger Genesis, and this sturdy feel gives him more conficence with catching hard line drives and high flies. This size was perfect for him, and should still fit him for a several more seasons if it holds up, which it is so far. Great glove.

Cons: The soft leather on the back is showing some wear, but it is still holding up well after the first season.

Pros: I bought this glove for my 6 yr old. The quality of this glove is right up there with the more expensive models from top brands. No break in required. My son loves it.

Cons: the basket web is a little rigid, but we are applying glove oil to soften it up.

Pros: Turns out this glove is a great. Its feel is similar to much more expensive gloves. I don't believe that most would consider the Vinci Pro to be a game ready glove as it still needs break-in, but I would not consider this to be a con. Although this is an eleven inch glove I would consider this to be versatile enough to be used infield or outfield.

Cons: None - so far it's really great. Its nice and flexable - soft, but just don't plan on it being game ready right from the box.

Paul

Pros: Flexible for quick break-in period. Probably best suited for the casual player, or for a back-up glove.

Cons: Durability is questionable. The glove is not form fitting to my son's hand. The quality and craftsmanship is on par with gloves in the $30 range. The strings/laces appears to be a low grade leather material and needed to be tightened just about everywhere. If you are looking for a high-end glove, please do not mistake this glove to be in that category--it is certainly not.

Jimmy

Pros: This was purchased for my 9U son. Great glove - requires very little breaking in, which is what you want in a youth glove. The gloves that are 100% broken in out of the box usually don't last more than one season. This is a real baseball glove so it requires a little breaking in.

Cons: Wish there was an adjustable model available.

Pros: I coach a competitive 8u team and bought this glove for my 7 year old a year ago. This glove is perfect! Far and away the best glove on the field every time we play. It is light, easy to control for young players and great quality leather.

Cons: He'll eventually outgrow it!

Pros: Perfect for coach pitch thru machine pitch. Very nice padding, and easy break in perioud. My son is 4Ft 4 Inches and 70 lbs. The glove lasted him 1 year, and now I am ready to upgrade to a high end glove. This glove puts the cheam Rawlings and Wilsons from Wal-Mart to shame. Perfect entry level glove for the parent that cares about there kid having quality equipment

Cons: Very soft leather great for break-in and feel, but will no last more than a few seasons once your kid starts catching "Adult" Speed throws. Still better than any Wal-Mart specials, but obviously more expensive.

travel ball coach

Pros: I coach 9U travel ball in San Diego and see lots of gloves come through the dugout. This one breaks in very quickly and seems to be pretty good quality. My son has small hands and he's able to close the glove pretty easily. Also a big fan of JustBallGloves and JustBats as they have great prices and service.

Cons: There is a thin insert in the glove between your hand and the thicker leather. Every time my son removes his hand from the glove the thin insert pulls out and bunches up in the finger holes. He can't get the glove back on without my help opening up the finger holes. This is a pain in the butt when he needs this done before every inning. If I had known about this issue I would have purchased a different glove.

No, we currently only carry this glove in black.
Kris
I have a son who will be 8 yars old next month and was wondering which glove would be best 10.5 or 11. He has been on the smallerside, but has been having a big growth spurt. rcguevara
It sounds like you may want to think about purchasing a glove that your son feels comfortable with as well as having a little room to grow. From our inventory I would suggest the Brett Bros. Professional Series PS11OH.
Shelbe
My son is 4 and this glove was too big for him. I got the 10" and it was small. Do you have any recommendations for him? He is a lefty... Flipmad
I would suggest looking at 10.50 or 10.75. Those will be bigger than the 10" and may fit his hand better
KG
I was thinking about getting this for my 8 year old son (pretty good size for his age) who plays "select" ball... What do you think? Devin's DAD
Yes, this is a high quality glove with a good pocket and will break in quickly
Sean
Can I order the Vinci 11 inch and get it before Christmas? Also, my son will be 9 and is small for his age. I would like to get him a glove he can grow into. Do you recommend the 11 inch? Matt
Yes. You have until Wednesday 12/21/2011.
KG
Do you think this is the right size for a 11 year old boy ? b
The average size glove for an 11 year old is between 11 and 11.5 inches. You can go up a little in size if you want a glove with more room to grow into.
Tyler
I want to get this glove for my 10yr old son who plays third base. Do you think it would be to small? If I do get it and he doesnt like how it fits do you take returns? buddy
I don't think this glove will be too small, it should be a perfect fit. If you purchase it and it is too small, our gloves come with a 100 day money back guarantee. You can return the glove for any reason within this 100 day period. It will also come with a free return label, so if you do need to send it back it will be free for you as well.
Jennifer
is this glove for kids who throw left handed?. my 8 year old son throws left handed. and should it fit a 8 year olds hand? walt
The Vinci Pro Junior Series would be a good choice for your 8 year old. The finger stalls on the youth model would be shorter to make sure the glove fits better. You would just have to choose the left-handed throw model for your son. Here is the link to look up more information on the Vinci Pro. http://www.ballglovewarehouse.com/product/vinci-pro-custom-pro-junior-series--brv1953-youth/9288/
Derek
How does this glove compare to the Akadema AZR95-12? RP
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1953 Youth glove and the Akadema Prodigy Series: AZR95-12 Youth glove will be very comparable. Both gloves will be very light weight. Both gloves will be very easy to close and feel nearly game ready. Both models will be 11" in size. The Akadema will be made from US Steerhide Leather in the Palm and Web. It will have a narrower wrist opening and finger stalls. The Vinci will come with a closed Basket Web, while the Akadema will come with a Single Post Cross Web.
Brandon
Does this glove come in a 12.50/12.75 size? My grandson son is 12 years old and needs an infielder glove. Pat
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series BRV1953 Youth only comes in an 11" model.
Damon
Is this glove best for infield or outfield? I have an 8 year old lefty who pitches and plays outfield? sandy
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1953 Youth is best for infield. However, we recommend a 10.50" to 10.75" glove for his age and positions.
Kara
Hello, I was looking for your opinion between this Vinci 1953 and the Wilson A500 Game Soft Series - both 11". My son is 8 and plays year-round and a bit on the smaller side for his age. Thanks in advance! RD
Both the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1953 Youth glove and the Wilson A500 Game Soft Series: A0500BB11 Youth glove are game ready models. Either one would be great options for an 8 year old that is on the smaller side. We offer an 100 day guarantee on all our gloves. You may send it back for either a refund or exchange, for any reason, within that 100 day period.
Aubrey
My son (9 yo) has been using a Vinci 10.5 glove for the last two years. Fantastic glove, especially for the price. I want to move him up to a new Vinci that he can use for a couple of years. Would this size be appropriate? He pitches and plays a lot of infield so I like to keep the glove on the small side. Coach P
Yes, the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series would be a great all-around glove. Your son would be able to use this 11" glove in the infield and pitching.
Justin R.
We ordered the 10" and it is too small for my average-sized 9 year old boy. He plays infield. Should we get the 10.5" or the 11"? Lori
If the 10" glove is too small for your boy, I would bump it up to the 11" Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1953 Youth. It may be slightly large, but will allow him to grow into it.
Brandon
Just purchased this glove from you guys for my 6 year old, turning 7 in a few weeks. Appears to be a fantastic product but he says it's difficult to squeeze. I know it will loosen up with use but I'm wondering if we should have gone with the 10.5" model. Does the web type make a difference with this one being basket vs. the I-web found in the smaller version? Jeremy
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) should be game ready and shouldn't require a lot of break-in. The web design would not affect the way the gloves closes. For his age, we recommend a 10.00" to a 10.50" glove. The glove is most likely too large, which can make the glove more difficult to close. The Vinci is available in both sizes.
Kara
What size is this glove? Chord
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) is an 11" glove.
John H
I searched for pitchers gloves and found this glove. I am 15 years old and play high school ball. Would this be an acceptable glove for me to use while pitching? Gregg
At 15 years old, the tighter fit provided by this Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) Youth glove is probably not the best option. Also, the 11.00" pattern size of this glove will be quite small for your age and position. I would recommend an Adult fit and a glove that is around 11.75" to 12.00" if you only pitch. I would avoid anything listed as "Youth" on our site, but check out some of the options in this link for 12.00" models: http://goo.gl/n3edsU.
Mac
My son is 8 1/2 years old and he is 4 feet 6 inches tall. He pitches, plays 2nd base and outfield. I am trying to purchase a new glove but cannot decide on a size. Would this be good for him? dman
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) would be a great size and style for a utility player of his age.
Patrick
My son is 8 years old. He is using a Wilson A450 Renegade 11.50". Is the Vinci BRV1953 the same size? Marco
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) Youth will be an 11" size.
Brandon
My son is just turned 9 and plays mostly outfield. Is this a good glove for the outfield? If not do you recommend one for the outfield? clint
The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) is an 11" pattern, which would be a great option for the outfield position.
Tessa
My son is 10 1/2 and plays primarily infield. He's 53" inches tall and 73 pounds. Would this glove be too small for him? smc1984
The Vinci Pro Customer Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) would be a great fit for a player his age playing infield. If he is also playing some outfield, you may also consider the model (BRV1951). The 11.50" size may be a slightly better choice if your son also spends time in the outfield.
Kelby
I'm trying to decide between this glove and the BRV1951 model. My son is about to turn 9, and this glove would be used for outfield play exclusively. Which one would you go with? Matt
If it is going to be used for outfield play, I would probably lean toward the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1951). However, both that model as well as the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series (BRV1953) could work for a player that age.
Patrick
My son will be turning 8 soon and plays infield as well as outfield, would you recommend the 1953 or 1951? jd
Both are great options and ideal for 8-9 year olds. The Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1953 Youth does lean more towards infield/outfield combination play.
Daveron
My son is 8 years old and we are trying to decide between this glove or the Mizuno GPP1150Y1. He plays infield as well as outfield. jd
Both the Vinci Pro Custom Pro Junior Series: BRV1953 Youth and the Mizuno GPP1150Y1 would be a good choice. The Vince would be best suited for infield where as the larger Mizuno 11.5'' glove would be best suited for the outfield. Since he plays both you may want to look at 11.25'' gloves.
