absolutely a ball players glove. I have the 11.75 model but this glove is a pro perferred glove with a gold glove price. Break in time is great and the style of glove and how you use it does matter. This is the best glove a high schooler player could want.

Some of the finest leather I've seen. Very affordable for a high quality glove. Holds shape well. Comfortable My two boy's both have a 9SC112CF, I was so impressed with the quality that I bought the 6SC33CM catcher's mitt for my self.
Pretty stiff at first, but oil it up and it will get better. A couple hours of catch and both my boys had them game ready.
