Description

The Rawlings Primo Series combines quality and innovation to produce a new standard in the world of baseball gloves. This finely crafted Primo glove is the ultimate choice for baseball's elite and soon-to-be elite. Primo is truly a masterpiece of design. Born in the Tuscany region of Italy, European full-grain leather is marked by a tight grain structure allowing for a flawless appearance. These gloves consist of two layers of the richest in Italian leather work together to create a pocket built for maximum performance and to provide durability and comfort. Strategically placed break points allow the glove to close according to your position`s demands. Additionally, hand sewn welting is placed along the outside of the glove eliminating the conjoining leather piece that would normally rub against your thumb. The third layer of Italian calf lining creates a luxuriously smooth feel unlike any other while the 100% wool padding adds an extra layer of cushion. Comfort without losing function. Primo leather and lacing undergoes an intensive hot-stuffed injection treatment that repels water and ensures durability. Additionally, the laces are tested to 100# tensile strength, creating a shape that endures all conditions. Finally, the Primo gloves provide superior comfort. The inner palm and lining adjust to the shape of the outer palm in order to absorb the impact of the ball. Free Shipping!

Pros: BEST GLOVE EVER! I couldn't believe I spent $400 on a glove. But once I got it I knew it was worth every dollar. It offers the best comfort than any other glove I've had, the cushion in the palm works like a wonder. Easy break in. I love how all the laces are 3 inches in length after being tied

Pros: this glove is an extention of your hand. the great thing about it is that the leather in the palm and the leather on the outer hand is incredibly soft, while the layer that is hidden on the inside is rock hard which makes it incredibly durable and gives the glove a great feal. i just recieved my glove today and it has already formed to my hand and i can effortlessly catch a ball already and it is not broken in at all. also what seemed to make a difference was putting one spray of rawlings glovolium in the palm. thats it. is makes it slightly firmer so it shapes eeasier unlike the glove buter which makes it very soft. the color and overall look of the glove in amazing and the long laces just makes it better. it has an oldschool look and feel which turns heads. well worth the 400$. get it

Cons: everyone will want to try it on

My Nokona Bloodline got chewed up by a dog, It was a really really nice glove. However, this is the best I've ever had. Superior leather, feel, and fit. I've had it for barley three weeks and I've already used it in a game, it worked out just fine. If you are really in to baseball and you have the money, buy this glove, you wont regret it.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Rawlings Primo Series: PRM1150T? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

we bought the glove and it is terrible been trying to break it in for 2 years palm area so thin ball consistently pops out of glove used your oil and it did not helpouto joe
Rawlings Primo gloves are going to be made from the highest quality leather around, and they will take some time to break in. 2 years sounds a little too long though. Feel free to check out our glove care video in under our glove resource guide on our website. You can also give us a call at 1-866-321-4568 with any questions.
Jon
My son is 10 and plays center field I did not see any comments on outfield use. would you recommend this glove? rodney
Based on the type of leather and design Rawlings probably had more of the adult infielder in mind. That being said, it is still an 11.50 Inch model and that is the average suggested size for an outfielder at that age group. In my opinion, this is such a high-quality glove that it could be used in either situation.
Jeff

At this time, we do not offer any discount codes or other promotional codes.

Is this glove an okay glove for an outfielder? I normally like a smaller glove anyways. Tyler
Thank you for your question. Typically, an outfielders glove runs from 12 inches to 12.75 inches. I would recommend moving up a half of an inch to the 12 inch model.
Nick

We would suggest getting the 12inch Rawlings Primo to give you a bigger web to help assist you in the outfield.

You are definitely choosing between two quality gloves. Both the Rawlings Primo Series: PRM1150T and the Wilson A2K gloves are among the best gloves available. I would recommend that you stay with the brand you are most familiar with. Remember, we offer a 100 day guarantee so you have zero risk when you make your decision because you can always send it back to us if it isn't perfect for you.

Does this glove maintain its shape well? Willie
Yes. The Primo Series is made from high quality leather that will maintain its shape very well.
Tyler
How many times a week or how often should the Primo butter be applied and do you used a very thin layer of it? Leftylife10
Glove oil (butter) should only be applied 2-3 times over the course of the entire season. A small amount goes along way and no more than a quarters sized drop should be applied. Here is a helpful link: http://www.ballglovewarehouse.com/glove-resource-guide/breaking-in-a-glove/
Tyler
Are the Primo and A2K 1/4 smaller than its size? Willie
The Rawlings Primo Series: PRM1150T and the A2K should run true to size. However, we have received some feedback some Wilson models run small.
Kara
Is the Primo Series supposed to be the highest end Rawlings glove? How does this glove in particular compare to the other infield/pitching gloves of the Heart of the Hide and Pro Preferred Series? JM
Price is the best indicator of glove quality as you truly get what you pay for. So yes, the Primo Series is the highest quality Series from Rawlings. The Rawlings Primo Series: PRM1150T will have stiffer and more durable leather compared to the Pro Preferred or Heart of the Hide Series.

Will this glove fit my 10 year old son, and be with him for the next 3-5 years with care? He keeps earning better gear with effort, and he needs a new quality glove for pitching, infield, and outfield. coachgreen
While the Rawlings Primo Series: PRM1150T would certainly last 3 to 5 years with care, it is an adult glove that would be difficult for your son currently to open and trap.
Kevin
Would you recommend the 11.5", 11.25", or the 11.75" for a high school player who plays pitcher, shortstop, and third base? mike the player
We recommend an 11.50" glove for your positions. The Rawlings Primo Series: PRM1150T would be a great option.
Kara
What size would you recommend for a utility high school player (excluding catcher and first base gloves)? tommy
The Rawlings Primo Series: PRM1150T is slightly small for a utility player at 11.50". We recommend a 12.50" model for a high school utility player, such as the Wilson A2K Series: A2K0BB3KP92.

Sean

I cant seem to find the date code on my Rawlings Primo glove. Where can i find it? Eitan
The Rawlings Primo Series (PRM1150T) features an I.D. number on the thumb but would not feature a "date code" anywhere on the glove.

I recently purchased the PRM1125 in the summer and now we are starting to practice for baseball. I need to break the glove in. When I purchased I wanted to break it in naturally, simply by playing catch. But that process is taking too long and my Wilson A2000 is beat. I need my Primo broken in. I looked up reviews on the Primo glove butter and it says it brings the glove back to life after aging. But nothing about it says anything about helping break-in the Primo. I saw a review on Firstbasecoach.com and they said they don't recommend I use it on a new glove. I need my Primo broken in and I don't want to break down the leather and ruin it, since it's a $400 glove. I need help. joshtheslugger
To break-in the Rawlings Primo Series (PRM1150T) try using our glove care kit, found here: http://www.justballgloves.com/product/justballgloves-com-glove-care-kit/9906/

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
