Pros: This glove is amazing. It feels just like my pro preferred and I can definitely see this as my next gamer. It breaks in like a dream and holds its shape very well. With good care, this glove could easily last as long as a pro preferred. The glove looks amazing in person and the pictures on the website do it no justice. If your thinking about getting a Heart Of The Hide, this is the one to get. I've had plenty of Heart of Hides and this one is by FAR the best.

Cons: Not A Thing.

Questions and Answers

Will this glove still be durable? k917jm
Price is the best indicator of the quality of leather used in a glove, and higher quality leather offers better durability (with good care). This Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series: PRO200-2BP is made from high quality leather and should offer similar durability to other Heart of the Hide models. It's a great pick for a long-lasting glove.
Mac
Will this glove be good for a 14 year old shortstop? Cswag
Yes, the Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PRO200-2BP) is designed for high school and college middle infielders. It will be perfect for a 14 year old shortstop.
John H
Which glove would be better the Wilson A2000 Superskin series or this one (the HOH Game Day Series)? Cswag
Both are great lines of gloves. The Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series will be lighter and stiffer. The Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series will be more game ready.
Damon
Is this a 11.25" or 11.50"? Vargas
The Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PRO200-2BP) is a 11.5" pattern.
John
What is the best size glove for a third base and middle infielder? Zach
The Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PRO200-2BP) would be a good option for you, depending on your preferences. Most 3rd baseman prefer a 11.5-11.75" model. Most middle infielders prefer an 11.25-11.5" model. The most ideal size would probably be an 11.5", but an 11.25" may work if you prefer a slightly smaller glove.

What is the difference between this glove and the PRO115IC which has been discontinued? How stiff is this glove when you get it? Ross
The big difference between these gloves is the Limited Edition color scheme that the (PRO115IC) was produced in.This Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PRO200-2BP) and (PRO115IC) are both made from Heart of the Hide Leather, features the I-Web design, and an 11.50" pattern size. The break-in time will be comparable between both models, as well, and both will be a bit softer out of the box than other Heart of the Hide models. Both would be very high quality options for a middle infielder.
Mac
Which glove do you think is better for a high school shortstop: this one or a A2000 Dustin Pedroia? cswag
Both gloves would be great choices for a high school shortstop. If you prefer a tighter fit I would recommend the A2000 DP15. For a player that prefers a more traditional fit the Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PRO200-2BP) would be the way to go.

What are the general differences between Rawlings and Wilson and how do they affect play? I know the biggest thing is Dual Welting, but how does having or not having that make the glove play differently? casey
Rawlings and Wilson are two of the largest glove manufacturers in the business. The dual welting will help the glove hold its shape for a longer period of time. The Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PRO200-2BP) will have a game ready feel and added padding for extra cushion. It will be very comfortable.
Brandon
This glove, or the Wilson A2000 1786? Also, do any pros use this glove? beastinitup
Ultimately, choosing between these two gloves comes down to brand preference. The Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PRO200-2BP) is the same pattern worn by Alexei Ramirez, and many others use the Heart of the Hide Series. Both lines are very similar in leather quality.
Mac
What's the difference between the Game Day Series, traditional HOH and Dual Core (I know Dual Core is easier to break-in than the traditional HOH) but I've never heard of the Game Day Series. Rob
The Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PRO200-2BP) is a glove worn by MLB players on game day. This glove is a specific game day model for White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez. The regular Heart of the Hide models have a stiffer feel. They will take longer to break-in.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
