Pros: It works great and it has a good pocket and my son uses it in the outfield.

Cons: It takes a while to be broken in. It took a good 3 months to be broken in. My son drops a lot of balls in the outfield in little league games because it isn't broken in.

What glove can I buy left or right? flor02
If you throw with your right hand, buy the Right Hand Thrower. If you throw with your Left Hand, go with the Left Hand Thrower.
Justin R.
Can I use this glove for outfield? msilv1104
You could use Rawlings Gamer Series: G12MTB for outfield, but the size is most ideal for pitching and 3rd base. Most people prefer a 12.5" or 12.75" glove for outfield.
Justin R.
Could I use this glove for 2nd base and shortstop? JTD
The Rawlings Gamer Series: G12MTB is typically used for a utility player. However, for best sizing we recommend using our glove coach: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/.
Kara
Would this be good for a 15 year old utility player? Bdbbbs16
The Rawlings Gamer Series (G12MTB) is a 12" model and is perfect for a high school utility player. It will work for both infield and outfield and will be game ready out of the box.
John H
Would this glove be good for center field and the infield? I am 14 years old playing Babe Ruth. gabe
The Rawlings Gamer Series: G12MTB is a 12" model. In my opinion, this size is too large to play infield and too small to play outfield. If you had to choose, I would suggest going with an 11.5" model. This would also be too small for outfield, but it would be a good match for playing the infield.
Justin R.
Is this a good glove for a high school pitcher and infielder ? William
We typically suggest 11.50" models to middle infielders and 12" to pitchers. You may find the Rawlings Gamer Series (G12MTB) to be slightly big in the field, but preference plays a large part in the decision and this glove could work for both positions.
Gary T.
Is this a good glove for a 10 year old that pitches and plays center field? matt
The Rawlings Gamer Series (G12MTB) would be a nice option for the player if they do not need a youth model glove with smaller finger stalls and wrist opening. At that age it is hard to determine whether the player would need a youth model or an adult size. If the player has a larger hand, an adult glove with an adjustable wrist strap may work for them.
Patrick
I play Pony and its my first year. I will be playing next year. I am wondering if this glove is good for me? I play left field, right field, and some 2nd and 3rd base. baseball4life
The Rawlings Gamer Series (G12MTB) features a 12" pattern and is ideal for a utility player your age.
Jason
I am wondering if this glove is the "high-quality" leather that it states. I am a middle infielder but I am using this for outfield. Is this a good choice? bryce
The 12 inch design of the Rawlings Gamer Series (G12MTB) would be a bit short for outfield but could work. The leather quality on the glove is very high but surprisingly game ready.
Patrick
I am a sophomore playing high school ball. I am a utility player playing all outfield positions, second and third base. Would this fit all my needs with its universal length of 12"? Joey
The Rawlings Gamer Series (G12MTB) 12" size and Trapeze web would be better suited for outfield use. The glove would work for infield as well, but be more comfortable in the outfield.
Brandon
I am planning on using my glove a lot. Will the trapeze web last long without coming undone? I am not sure whether or not the web will come undone after a while of use. joey
The trapeze web in the Rawlings Gamer Series: (G12MTB) should be able to hold up for you. The leather used will be fairly soft, but the webbing should not deteriorate easily.
Merritt
Is a 12 glove a good size for a 14 year old outfielder? Ty
Yes. The Rawlings Gamer Series (G12MTB) would be a good size for an outfielder. Some players would prefer a slightly longer glove but that size would still work well.
Patrick
Is this a good glove for an infielder? Rob
Yes, the Rawlings GG Gamer Series: (G12MTB) is an ideal glove for pitching, and infield positions.
Merritt
Will this glove hold up as I progress through high school? Josh
It is tough to determine the durability of any glove, including the Rawlings GG Gamer Series (G12MTB). Factors such as how often it is used and if proper glove care techniques are followed will help to elongate or shorten the lifespan of the glove depending on how well you treat the glove. With proper glove care though, this glove should last a few seasons, if not longer.
Tessa
Is this glove black or dark brown? Jimmy
The Rawlings GG Gamer Series (G12MTB) is black in color.
Jason
I play men's slow pitch softball. I play second base would this glove work for me? Keys
Yes the Rawlings GG Gamer Series (G12MTB) will work for you. We typically recommend 12.00-12.50" for slow pitch second basemen.
Tom
Is this glove good for 11u boys travel ball? My son plays shortstop second and pitches. Probably will be in outfield too. Snydz
The Rawlings GG Gamer Series (G12MTB) is an ideal choice for a pitcher and infield player. It has a longer break in time but it is very durable.
Allison
Would this work for a high school outfielder? Is it too small? Sunday
The Rawlings GG Gamer Series (G12MTB) has a 12" pattern and is great for a utility player, but it might be a little small for a high school outfielder. Typically, a high school outfielder uses a 12.50" or a 12.75" glove.
Jason
It is taking me a long time to break in this glove, am I able to steam this glove to help break it in? Payton
We do not recommend steaming the glove due to its result in decrease in glove durability. I would suggest taking a look at our Glove Resource Guide, which will show you how to properly break and care for your glove: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-resource-guide/.
Tom
Do you think this would be a good glove for a third baseman, short stop, and a pitcher? Kev
The Rawlings GG Gamer Series (G12MTB) would be a good option for a player playing all of those positions.
Patrick
Would a size 12 be good for a 12 year old third baseman, pitcher, and occasional outfielder? Owen

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
