Pros: This glove is absolutely amazing. The look and feel exceeded my expectations which were already high. My daughter plays shortstop for travel team and she loves it. Not quite game ready but pretty darn close. Not to mention Just Gloves return policy is legit. I returned another glove and no questions asked. They will get my business from now on.

Cons: Paranoid about being lost or stolen.

Best qaulity Yeske797 parent

Pros: Highest qaulity product i have seen in years. My daughter thought it was too big until she put it on and played catch. She instantly said she loved it. Minimal break in time.

Cons: Hard to say that it has cons but the glove may be a bigger than some other brands but qaulity makes up for it.

Pros: Good glove for infield. Comes game ready. Too loose & heavy for the outfield...in my opinion.

Cons: Heavy & loose around the wrist. Not good for smaller hands.

Pros: Love it! Still breaking it in but don't expect it to take long. It fits great and exceeded my expectations.

Cons: Have to be super careful not to lose it or have it get stolen. It costs too much to lose!

Nokona built to last Mama G parent

Pros: Nokona is the only glove my daughter will use - tried on others but the fit and comfort were not comparable to the Nokona, she is an outfielder with smaller hands. Glove is light weight. I know this glove will be around for a long time and will get plenty of use during her Sr year of travel ball and then the next 4 years at college ball.

Cons: None

Best Fastpitch Glove Ever! Brian Gabbert Parent

Pros: Daughter will not use anything else. She has played many years and tried other gloves, but can't find a fault or beat the fit, quality and durability of a Nokona glove. Reminds me of the old adage, "You get what you pay for" and it's made in Texas, USA - since 1934!

Cons: None at all.

When do you expect this in the 1250 model? None
The Nokona X2 Elite Fastpitch Series (X2F-1250) should be in at the beginning of next month.

What is being measured when a glove is 12" or 12.5" and how do I know which one is right for a 13 year old pitcher? The bat coach says 12 but in the comments I've seen 12.5 recommended for a 10 year old pitcher. webcrawler
A glove is measured from the tip of the pointer finger down to the lowest point on the palm of the glove before the leather has been formed. For a 13 year old fastpitch pitcher, I would recommend going with a 12" model or just slightly larger. The majority of high school, college, and MLB pitchers use a 12" glove for baseball.
Austin
Is this a softball glove? Because I thought it looked like a baseball/hardball glove and that is what I am looking for. Glove buying was not that difficult when I was buying mine and that was only 50-60 years ago. Dan
The 2016 Nokona X2 Elite Fastpitch Series (X2-V1200) is a fastpitch softball glove.

My daughter is 12.5 yrs old plays on travel team, positions pitch, ss, 2nd and out field she is slim, small for her age with long fingers would you recommend this glove in 12 or 12.50 or another? she is currently using a wilson 12" Vic
The 2016 Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1200 would be a great choice for your player in the positions she plays. A 12.5" model may be a bit bulky and make transferring the ball from glove to hand while playing the infield more difficult since that size is more for strictly outfielders.
Logan
Does the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove X2-1200 include the Nolera Composite Padding System? Frances
Yes, the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1200 will have the Nolera Composite Padding System which will give the player Added Protection.

Are the finger stalls designed to fit youth or adult? bo00knows
This Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove (X2-V1200) will feature snugger fitting for a fastpitch player. I think that a female fastpitch player could wear this anywhere from 10 years old through college. For a 10 year old, it might come a little loose at the beginning, but they should grow into the fitting with time.
Ben
My granddaughter is 9 and plays on a team. She plays infield. Will the Nokona X2-V1200 be too big for her hand? Do you make a smaller softball glove? Sabra Coons
For a nine year old player, we would recommend a smaller glove at 11.00-11.50 inches in size. With the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1200 being a 12.00 inch size it would be too big in our opinion.
Cameron
Do you have just an outfielder version? A review says too loose for outfield play and that is the problem we are having right now with the one we have. joe
There is a 12.5" model in the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250. However, the overall fit of the glove will be the nearly the same as this model. The wrist opening/finger stall sizes will not change much when increasing the glove size.

About the Brand

Joe Phillips writes about his visit to Nokona. It was like sitting in at the plantation party in Gone with the Wind or maybe gazing from the grandstand at the “Field of Dreams” while the Black Sox players tried to work out their idled muscle kinks. And, I was gently reminded by the lines in that movie while I dug into a delicious plate of North Texas barbecue: “threshing crews eating at outdoor tables. It continually reminds us of what once was, like an Indian-head penny in a handful of new coins. . . You talk a good dream.” And here I was. . . graciously invited into this magical and charming “Field of Glove-Making Dreams” in former Comanche Indian land at Nocona, Texas. It was a warm August evening, basked in a golden harvest moon, while friends and the Nokona family paid its kindly southern regards to two of their own and two of America’s finest but relatively obscure glove makers, Bobby Storey and Elvin Ray “Ab” Lemons. You see, the pair had just completed fifty years of time-honored employment with Nocona Athletic Goods, the last of the all-American made ball glove company's. The occasion brought echoes of past successes and human contentment, but in Nocona today you still experience much the same American texture of yesterday and perhaps a glimpse into tomorrow as well.

The two stately gentlemen were being honored in a way that could have taken place in the same manner when they first reported for full-time work at Nokona, in 1952, or back even earlier, in 1933 when the company started making sports equipment. During a brief and informal presentation at the celebration, Nokona’s new sales manager called the two glove makers “Legends - because that’s what their ball gloves stood for, American know-how and pride taken in a best-made product.”

A man of few words but a marveled craftsman who could literally conjure a sows ear into a playable baseball mitt, Mr. Lemons got up and fondly recalled the several men he worked with through his half-century and of the training that had been passed along to him from his old bosses.

His counter part and just as talented, Bobby Storey, had filled in at just about every job at Nokona. Bobby, the son of the sporting goods founder, R.E. “Bob” Storey had most recently served as president and now chairman of the board of Nokona. Though past retirement age like Mr. Lemons, he’s now serving at one of his favorite roles, that of ball glove designer.

At a time for employment in this country when five years is considered a long tenure with the same company, Ab and Bobby are not even the first to complete a half-century journey with Nocona Athletics. The now deceased Jewell Brickey, hit that milestone in 1993, after joining the company during World War II. That’s the kind of devotion that employees forge into this glove-making outfit. A devoted and sustained tenure here is not rare. Last year the company advertising, displayed along with Storey and Lemons, three other employees who had garnered 40 years with Nokona, Warren Clary, Bud Meekins, and Melvin Weedin.“

I don’t have to tell you that the one constant through all the years has been baseball”, wrote W.P. Kinsella. And the most constant of ball glove makers has been Nokona, and the men and women there who keep alive the tradition of American craftsmanship of ball glove making. The spirit of glove-making is still alive and well in Nocona, Texas.
