Blowout..

Pros: Just ordered and what a glove. It is playable right out box.. The glove is very light compared to the banana tan or buffalo combo. This was a huge reason to buy. There is no padding or cloth liner like the buffalo combo, which is a big reason the x2 is lighter. Its so usable right out of box I am worried about durability.. We will see

Cons: Its VERY pricey...

Pros: Almost went with the Buckaroo because this was out of stock for so long. Glad we waited. Very soft yet durable feel to the leather. It is almost game ready on arrival . You can really tell the difference in a mediocre glove and a high quality one. We will not be using anything other than Nokona in the future, you get what you pay for with them .

Cons: None, only thing that would make it better is if it came with a glove wrap of some sort to keep it in while not being used...

Pros: As promised it was ready out of the box, but would recommend at least a few hours of practice before using it in a game. Was hesitant about the price, but needed a glove ASAP after my bag was stolen in a burglary. Took a chance, but felt comfortable with the Nokona reputation. By far my favorite glove ever!! The glove worked great in a tournament 3 days after getting it, played both middle infield spots, center, and two innings at first base in 5 games, no drops, and was confident throughout the weekend! Awesome glove!!!

Cons: none yet, a little pricey, but like my dad says, you get what you pay for...

Pros: Tough yet very light for its size. Very comfortable to wear. The cadillac of gloves. I would rate this glove above all others, and it is a plus that it is made in the U.S.A.. You can call the factory direct should you have any issue with this glove. Try that with any other manufacturer. Expensive but worth wearing the best of the best! You always get what you pay for.

Cons: None.

Pros: Nice glove. top of the line. break in is a couple of weeks using at practice and conditioning with Nokona conditioner. I was concerned glove was going to be hard to break in. This was not the case for this glove. My daughter is 13 playing travel ball and is very pleased with glove.

Cons: a little stiff in palm area. Any glove you buy needs to be broken in.

Pros: High quality leather, designed perfectly, this model comes mostly broken in. This is my third Nakona X2 Elite, first one was for my daughter another was a girl and the most current was a 12.5 inch for my daughter again as she is growing and I thought she might need it in the future. Just a great glove

Cons: The price is on the high end of the market. This glove is for a serious player.

Pros: I bought this glove for my 11 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. The glove fits nicely on her hand and is very light. The leather is soft and already came conditioned. An older girl / adult will be able to play with this glove within a few days. A younger kid (like my 11 year old) will require about two weeks of break-in before she is comfortable using it in a game.

Cons: It is a pricey glove but if it lasts her into high school, it will have been worth it.

Pros: My daughter has been needing a new glove for a few years now but just couldn't part with it. We have been searching for the perfect glove to take its place and we have found it with this glove! She is a 17 yr old pitcher and 3rd baseman and has fallen in love with this glove. It came game ready and she hasn't missed a beat! Thanks for making such a high quality glove.

Cons: ties on the pocket loosen up and untie because of ball being caught in it. had it less than a year and already need new one. my first Nokona lasted two years. called to use warranty snd was told it eould tske 4-6 weeks to get replacement. completely unacceptable we ste in ghe middle of travel season

Pros: Comes ready out of the box.

Cons: Comes ready out of the box. There is a flaw in the design. It ties at the bottom of the pocket after the ball being caught enough times it comes undone. Daughter was in middle of game and had to stop the ball from falling out. The leather loosen easily so doesn't keep tight fit on the hands. Wanted to send it in but they said it would be six weeks before I'd get it back, couldn't really do that until we got a break in the season, which wasn't till now. I sent it back to the factory with most of the laces undone and the stuffing on the strap showing because glove is so loose it slips off hand. Hate I don't love it. I've loved my previous 2 Nokona gloves. Fingers crossed its back in January and ready for the field.

Pros: The Nokona X2 lived up to our expectations. It was the high end glove but got tired of buying the less expensive and replacing frequently because of school and travel ball. It does need break-in. The ball bounces in the pocket slightly but you can tell the break-in will be quick...one or two weeks of use.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Looks like a nice glove, but do you know if they are going to be coming out with a 13 inch? Maverick
This 12.50" Nokona X2 Elite Series: X2F-1250 Fastpitch is the only X2 Elite Fastpitch model currently in production. The X2 Elite Fastpitch line may expand to include other sizes like 13", but we do not know for certain or have a set release date available.
Mac
Any chance of getting this model in a 12.0 inch model? Bud
Currently the 12.50" Nokona X2 Elite Series: X2F-1250 Fastpitch is the only X2 Elite Fastpitch model in production. The X2 Elite Fastpitch line could potentially expand to different sizes, but as of right now we cannot anticipate any changes.
Gary T.
Will you be carrying the right hand thrower model? Geanna
We will be carrying the Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250 Fastpitch) in a right handed thrower. We should have more in stock in 2-4 weeks time.
Brandon
Interested in a right hand thrower when will these be in stock? Mcummings
We are scheduled to receive more Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250) sometime in the next 2-4 weeks.
Bobby
Is this glove made mostly for a girls hand like the Buckaroo or is more for men with large hands? james
The Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250) Fastpitch is a female fastpitch model, so it is made with a narrower wrist opening and narrower finger stalls for female fastpitch hands.
Damon
Would this glove be good for a 14 year old pitcher/1st baseman? Kinz
The Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250 Fastpitch) would be a very good choice for a girl at your age and positions.
Brandon
Is this for baseball or softball? jim
The Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250) Fastpitch is designed for female fastpitch softball.
John H
I'm looking for a glove for my son who plays 3rd,1st,and pitches. Is this glove too large for a 9 year old infielder? Storm
Yes. The Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250) is a female fastpitch glove. At that age you want to look for a youth baseball model. If you wanted to stick with Nokona, I would take look at the Nokona Alpha Select Series. Here is the link: http://www.justballgloves.com/products/?s=nokona+alpha+select
Damon
Why is it that offer this glove considerably cheaper than the manufacturer offers on their website? Are your products refurbished or defective? charlow
The Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250 Fastpitch) glove we have available was shipped to us from Nokona. Our Product Managers and Nokona have certain prices they agree on for us to get the glove and for us to sell the glove. I am not sure why their site is higher than us. Sorry for the lack of info on this topic. All of our products are brand new unless you see a DEMO distinction.
Brandon
My daughter plays 3rd base, pitches, and plays 1st base. She is 9. Would you recommend this glove? softball mom
The 12.5 inch pattern of the Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250) would be good for all those positions and the adjustable velcro wrist strap should make it easier to secure the glove to her smaller hand at that age.
Patrick
Do I need to condition this glove right away or play catch with my daughter for a few weeks first? It seems well conditioned from the factory. Chuck
The Nokona X2 Elite Series (X2F-1250 Fastpitch) will require a little break-in period so a few weeks of catch with your daughter should be plenty to fully break-in this glove.
Tom
My daughter is 15 years old and plays only second base for high school team. Would this be a good glove for her? tim
When using our glove coach it recommends a 12.00 inch for her and this glove is a 12.50 inch model. I do have a very similar model in a 12.00 inch. Nokona X2 Elite Fastpitch Series (X2F-1200)
Frankie
I play varsity ball and on a travel team as a utility player, but mostly third. Would this be a good choice for me? O
The Nokona X2 Elite Fastpitch Series (X2F-1250) would be a good choice for that level of play and those positions.
Patrick
My daughter is a left handed pitcher on her high school team. She is also a pitcher/outfielder on her traveling team. Would this be a good glove for that environment? Donut
Yes, the Nokona X2 Elite Fastpitch Series (X2F-1250) would be a great option! It will have a lighter play weight and break-in very easy. This is one of the highest quality fastpitch gloves you'll find on the market.
Brandon
Is the Velcro closure over the hand a separate individual strap that secures hand to the glove, similar to some Mizuno models? Also, is this glove made with a vented webbing, allowing dirt to pass through webbing with each infield scoop? Dad
The Velcro strap on the Nokona X2 Elite Fastpitch Series (X2F-1250) is designed to secure the hand in the glove. Also, this glove features a closed web, so it wouldn't really allow dirt to pass through.
Chinyere
My daughter currently plays 12u travel ball as a 1st base, short stop, 3rd base, and all outfield positions. Sometimes she plays catcher. She is also very tall and has large adult hands even though she is 10 years old. We would like to invest in a glove that would be perfect for all positions and that she will not be out growing within a year or two. Would this be the glove for her? If this is the glove for her, when would right hand be available? JazzysMommy
The Nokona X2 Elite Fastpitch Series (X2F-1250) should work well for what you are looking for. The right handed thrower option should be back in stock shortly after 8/15.
Patrick
My daughter plays travel and is an outfielder. What size would you recommend? She currently has a 12.50 but its several years old. Carl
Generally, high school outfielders will use a glove between a 12.5" and 12.75" in design.
John
My daughter is 10 years old and I was wondering if this glove would be too big for her? piperblock
For your daughter's age we recommend a 11.5" glove. The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250 would be quite large for her.
Angelique
My daughter just turned 12. She needs is using a 12.00" glove, but she is in that transitional phase from youth to adult size. She plays pitcher, 3rd base & occasionally outfield. Would this glove be a good match for her? Joe
This Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove (X2-V1250) will be a solid transitional glove for a 12 year old utility player moving between the outfield and infield. There might be a transition period moving from the 12.00" to the 12.50" length, but I think that with some time she would come to enjoy this X2 Buckaroo.
Ben
What color is this glove? Chris
The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250 is going to be dark brown in color.
John
I'm concerned about the fit. I just returned a Wilson closed pocket and couldn't get my hand in glove. Will I have the same problem with the X2? I'm tired of returning gloves that are undersized in the hand entry. Nina Crean
The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250 features a 12.50 inch pattern, an adult fit, and an adjustable velcro wrist strap. I don't anticipate you having a problem getting your hand to fit in the wrist opening.
John P.
I have a small hand for an adult. Would this glove fit okay? peewee
If you are an adult male with a smaller hand, you could certainly try this Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove (X2-V1250). It is designed to fit a female hand, but if your hand is small enough, there is a good chance that the glove could fit. As well we offer Glove Assurance for $29.99. When you buy Glove Assurance along with your glove, you will get a 100 day trial period. If you decide it is not the glove for you within 100 days from the purchase date, you can send the glove back for a refund.
Ben
Can this glove be used as an outfielder's glove in adult slow pitch softball league? Dave
If you are an adult male with a smaller hand, you could certainly try this Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove (X2-V1250). It is designed to fit a female hand, but if your hand is small enough, there is a good chance that the glove could fit and could be used for adult slow pitch softball.
Linsey
I have a very small hand for an adult female. Was wondering if this glove would be a good choice? Peewee
The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250 is a good option to consider even for those with a smaller hand. The reason for this is due to the adjustable velcro leather strap that the glove features.
Cameron
My daughter plays short and is a small 15 year old. Is this glove too big for her and does it come in a 12.25" length? jc
For a short stop playing fastpitch softball at 15 years old, I think that a glove like this Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove (X2-V1250) with a 12.5" length could be used. However, it would be up to the preferences of the player (I hear of girls at that age at her position using anywhere from 11.50" gloves to 12.50" gloves). Sadly, we are not carrying this X2 Buckaroo series for fastpitch players in the 12.25 " length.
Ben
What is the difference between the X2-V1250 and the X2-F1250? Cruiser Mike
The NOKONA X2F-1250 X2 ELITE FASTPITCH SOFTBALL GLOVE is essentially the older model of the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250. The main differences are the colorway and the Nokona trademark.
Cameron
My daughter (13 years old) plays all positions except catcher. Is this a good all around glove for her? Also will it require steaming? jray
Yes, the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove (X2-V1250) would be a good option for a utility player like your daughter. We currently only have left hand throwers in stock but should be getting more right hand throwers shortly. We never recommend steaming gloves as it breaks down the leather. The best way to break in a glove is through use.
Taylor
My daughter has a larger hand with long fingers. I am struggling to find a glove that she can get her hand into. What suggestions do you have? rbernzie
With any glove, it is tough for use to know how one model may fit a player. This is one of the reasons we are offering Glove Assurance for only $29.99. By purchasing Glove Assurance alongside your glove, you get a 100 day trial period to use the glove. If you decide it is not the glove for you within 100 days from the purchase date, you can return it to JustGloves for a refund.
Cameron
I am adult man and I would like to ask you about size of the glove. I have quiet big hands, from wrist to middle finger 19 cm. Do you think, is this glove big enough for my hand? Martin Oswald
The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250 would not be a good option for an adult male player as this glove is designed for women's fastpitch softball. The wrist opening and finger stalls will create a tight fit on your hand. A better option to consider would be the Nokona X2 Buckaroo Slow Pitch Series: (X2-1300). If not playing slowpitch, and needing something more for baseball play, then the Nokona Buckaroo Special Series: UT-1225C would be a better potential option.
Cameron
Why is the term "buckaroo" in the name of the glove? Nokona's website has no reference to "buckaroo" for any of their fastpitch gloves. They have X2 Elite, but no buckaroo. Paul Boyer
The Nokona X2 Buckaroo Series Fastpitch Glove: X2-V1250 is named as such per the information we received from Nokona. On Nokona's own website, this same glove is described as such: "When combining Kangaroo Leather with our Steerhides, we call it Buckarooâ„¢."

About the Brand

Joe Phillips writes about his visit to Nokona. It was like sitting in at the plantation party in Gone with the Wind or maybe gazing from the grandstand at the “Field of Dreams” while the Black Sox players tried to work out their idled muscle kinks. And, I was gently reminded by the lines in that movie while I dug into a delicious plate of North Texas barbecue: “threshing crews eating at outdoor tables. It continually reminds us of what once was, like an Indian-head penny in a handful of new coins. . . You talk a good dream.” And here I was. . . graciously invited into this magical and charming “Field of Glove-Making Dreams” in former Comanche Indian land at Nocona, Texas. It was a warm August evening, basked in a golden harvest moon, while friends and the Nokona family paid its kindly southern regards to two of their own and two of America’s finest but relatively obscure glove makers, Bobby Storey and Elvin Ray “Ab” Lemons. You see, the pair had just completed fifty years of time-honored employment with Nocona Athletic Goods, the last of the all-American made ball glove company's. The occasion brought echoes of past successes and human contentment, but in Nocona today you still experience much the same American texture of yesterday and perhaps a glimpse into tomorrow as well.

The two stately gentlemen were being honored in a way that could have taken place in the same manner when they first reported for full-time work at Nokona, in 1952, or back even earlier, in 1933 when the company started making sports equipment. During a brief and informal presentation at the celebration, Nokona’s new sales manager called the two glove makers “Legends - because that’s what their ball gloves stood for, American know-how and pride taken in a best-made product.”

A man of few words but a marveled craftsman who could literally conjure a sows ear into a playable baseball mitt, Mr. Lemons got up and fondly recalled the several men he worked with through his half-century and of the training that had been passed along to him from his old bosses.

His counter part and just as talented, Bobby Storey, had filled in at just about every job at Nokona. Bobby, the son of the sporting goods founder, R.E. “Bob” Storey had most recently served as president and now chairman of the board of Nokona. Though past retirement age like Mr. Lemons, he’s now serving at one of his favorite roles, that of ball glove designer.

At a time for employment in this country when five years is considered a long tenure with the same company, Ab and Bobby are not even the first to complete a half-century journey with Nocona Athletics. The now deceased Jewell Brickey, hit that milestone in 1993, after joining the company during World War II. That’s the kind of devotion that employees forge into this glove-making outfit. A devoted and sustained tenure here is not rare. Last year the company advertising, displayed along with Storey and Lemons, three other employees who had garnered 40 years with Nokona, Warren Clary, Bud Meekins, and Melvin Weedin.“

I don’t have to tell you that the one constant through all the years has been baseball”, wrote W.P. Kinsella. And the most constant of ball glove makers has been Nokona, and the men and women there who keep alive the tradition of American craftsmanship of ball glove making. The spirit of glove-making is still alive and well in Nocona, Texas.
