Pros: This glove has high quality written all over it. Superb leather used in this glove and my son loves it!! We only used Lexol to condition the glove and played a lot of catch and used a glove mallet when the weather wasn't right for outdoor play. Broke it in in about 3 weeks. We also use the Markwort Glove Locker to help keep the gloves shape while it isn't in use. Great glove for any multi-position player in the infield!!

Cons: None.......

Pros: Just received my glove today! (My first nokona.) Feels great. You can tell this is high end leather. Seems like some bloodlines are stiffer than others. I ordered the 11.75 and the 12.00 and the 11.75 was much stiffer than the 12.00. This one wasn't too stiff. I play men's slow pitch and the 12.00 is the perfect size for my preference. I tried on the Wilson a2000, rawlings pro preferred, primo. The primo does feel good though, but not made in USA. None feel like the bloodline. I'll wright another review after I break it in.

Cons: This is just being picky, I wish nokona would let u change the type of webbing. Since your paying $300 you would think you could. But again I'm just being picky. Other than that nothing yet. I'll keep you posted after I break it in.

Pros: This was my first Nokona glove and I fell in love with Nokona gloves. I've used Wilson A2K and other Japanese brand gloves, including SSK and Hatakeyama, but ever since I used this Nokona Bloodline, Nokona is the only glove I use. It breaks in really nicely and I feel like the glove forms to your hand perfectly. I use Nokona NLT Glove Conditioner once in a while to maintain the glove, because the longer I use it, the more I like it and it truly feels like the extension of your hand.

Does the Nokona Bloodline Black series still have the same features as the original Bloodine series? Do they still have Custom Tanned numbers, laminated palms, and breathable finger stalls? Nokona Bloodline Fan
Yes. The Bloodline Black Series has all the same features as the good ole Bloodline gloves.
jaja
hi guys would this glove be a good for infield positions softballsenior player thanks dan s
Yes, it would still be a good glove for you. That particular pocket is still a good softball pocket. Once broken in to your preference, this glove will last you forever! Great glove. Just be patient and break it in.
mad dog
Yes, this is going to be a good glove for someone to use I softball. This is going to be a glove that is going to have a smaller pocket then most softball gloves, but it will still work for softball. This is going to be a very durable glove that you are going to be able to use for a very long time.
Todd
can you get your name embroidered on this glove? bubba
We do not do any embroidering
Sean
Morning guy's I am interested in your Nokona BL1200BLK, looks like a great glove. Question: Can I use this for softball as well? or is there another "best quality" Nokona for softball. The bloodline series, I assume are the best? Thanks, Bill Wizzer
This glove can be used for softball as well as baseball
Sean
Love what I see in this glove. I have a 13 year old pitcher and occasional infielder. I am wondering whether this glove would be a good choice. He's about 5'10" with relatively big hands. Dan
Thank you for your question. For your 13 year old pitcher and infielder, this would be an excellent choice. Most infielders select a glove between 11 inches and 12 inches, and it has the closed web design that pitchers need so that they do not tip off pitches to the batter. As for the hand size, this is an adult size so it should fit any teenager to adults hand fine. Great choice!
Michael
is the bloodline series the best leather and gloves nokona offers? aj
Yes, the Bloodline series is Nokona's top of the line glove.
John
This glove or the Pro Preferred? I play SS Slow Pitch Softball. I prefer a smaller glove. I'm looking for a high quality glove that will not get floppy. Tin
Wow, both gloves will be very durable options. The BL1200CBLK will have a deeper pocket making it perfect for a softball player. The leather on both of these gloves will be high quality, stiff, and will hold their shapes for many seasons. If you want a glove with a deeper pocket, then this glove is for you.
Kris
Would this glove work with outfield? baseballjunkey
The BL1200CBLK is 12inch so it would be able for use in the outfield. Typically we would suggest a 12 1/2 inch for out field play. But this glove would be a great fit for a utility player finding time in both the infield and outfield.
John
HOW DOES THE WEIGHT OF THE BLOODLINE SERIES RELATE TO SOME OF YOUR OTHER GLOVES? COBRA
The Nokona Bloodline Black Series gloves are made with a very high quality and very durable leather. They will weigh just slightly more than average compared to other gloves of the same size.

What is the difference between the Nokona BL1200C, AMG1200BLCW and the BL1200CBLK? My son is 12years old and 5'8"plays pitcher and shortstop. Thanks rob Oldman19
The Nokona Bloodline Series: BL1200C is a dark red glove and is the exact same as the AMG1200BLCW, just an updated model number. The Nokona Bloodline Black Series: BL1200CBLK is a black glove.
Tyler
Does this glove have any features that reduces sting? I play college ball and was looking for a mitt that can save my hand. Ncaaprospect
The Nokona Bloodline Black Series: BL1200CBLK does not contain any extra features that would help reduce sting. This glove is made from full grain smooth aniline leather, making it a very durable glove.
Marcus
I play 2nd base and center field for high school, but I never had this style web before. Will this feel different then the H web? I was also looking to get another Walnut Series 11.75" again, but I don't know how that would do in center field. Ty
This Nokona Bloodline Black Series: BL1200CBLK is a 12" model. This basket web design will feel different than an H-web. Once in high school, we recommend getting a position specific glove. This model will be much too large for 2nd base and much too small for center field. For 2nd base, you'll want to look at a 11.25"-11.5" glove. For center field, you should go for a 12.5"-12.75". Keep in mind we have our 100 day guarantee.

About the Brand

Joe Phillips writes about his visit to Nokona. It was like sitting in at the plantation party in Gone with the Wind or maybe gazing from the grandstand at the “Field of Dreams” while the Black Sox players tried to work out their idled muscle kinks. And, I was gently reminded by the lines in that movie while I dug into a delicious plate of North Texas barbecue: “threshing crews eating at outdoor tables. It continually reminds us of what once was, like an Indian-head penny in a handful of new coins. . . You talk a good dream.” And here I was. . . graciously invited into this magical and charming “Field of Glove-Making Dreams” in former Comanche Indian land at Nocona, Texas. It was a warm August evening, basked in a golden harvest moon, while friends and the Nokona family paid its kindly southern regards to two of their own and two of America’s finest but relatively obscure glove makers, Bobby Storey and Elvin Ray “Ab” Lemons. You see, the pair had just completed fifty years of time-honored employment with Nocona Athletic Goods, the last of the all-American made ball glove company's. The occasion brought echoes of past successes and human contentment, but in Nocona today you still experience much the same American texture of yesterday and perhaps a glimpse into tomorrow as well.

The two stately gentlemen were being honored in a way that could have taken place in the same manner when they first reported for full-time work at Nokona, in 1952, or back even earlier, in 1933 when the company started making sports equipment. During a brief and informal presentation at the celebration, Nokona’s new sales manager called the two glove makers “Legends - because that’s what their ball gloves stood for, American know-how and pride taken in a best-made product.”

A man of few words but a marveled craftsman who could literally conjure a sows ear into a playable baseball mitt, Mr. Lemons got up and fondly recalled the several men he worked with through his half-century and of the training that had been passed along to him from his old bosses.

His counter part and just as talented, Bobby Storey, had filled in at just about every job at Nokona. Bobby, the son of the sporting goods founder, R.E. “Bob” Storey had most recently served as president and now chairman of the board of Nokona. Though past retirement age like Mr. Lemons, he’s now serving at one of his favorite roles, that of ball glove designer.

At a time for employment in this country when five years is considered a long tenure with the same company, Ab and Bobby are not even the first to complete a half-century journey with Nocona Athletics. The now deceased Jewell Brickey, hit that milestone in 1993, after joining the company during World War II. That’s the kind of devotion that employees forge into this glove-making outfit. A devoted and sustained tenure here is not rare. Last year the company advertising, displayed along with Storey and Lemons, three other employees who had garnered 40 years with Nokona, Warren Clary, Bud Meekins, and Melvin Weedin.“

I don’t have to tell you that the one constant through all the years has been baseball”, wrote W.P. Kinsella. And the most constant of ball glove makers has been Nokona, and the men and women there who keep alive the tradition of American craftsmanship of ball glove making. The spirit of glove-making is still alive and well in Nocona, Texas.
