The Nike SHA/DO Elite J Series (BF1697) would be a level of quality often used by professional, semi-professional or collegiate players. Most 11 year old players would take a bit of time to break this model in.

How does this glove match up against other gloves in its price range for a varsity pitcher? calebm34
The Nike SHA/DO Elite J Series: BF1697 Black is certainly a good glove for a pitcher, but really better suited for an OF as it has a 12.25 inch pattern. Better pattern for pitcher would be 12.00 as this will be easier for PFPs. As for how this glove stacks up to the others in the industry, the Japanese Kip Leather is one of the better leather qualities out there and thus it compares favorably to other gloves in the same price range.

What is the best way to break this glove in? cal g
The best manner in which to break-in any glove is to give it as much use as possible. I would recommend using it at all practices and even on days off from practice. Within a few weeks you should be able to have your Nike SHA/DO Elite J Series (BF1697 Black) ready for game use. (You can use some oil/conditioner starting out if you wish, but be sure and use the minimal amount needed)

Does anyone know where I can find this glove for less than $400? I've been experimenting with different glove brands and designs and I've fallen in love with the look of the glove. Please let me know if you can find it! Carter
Sorry, but we are not familiar with the inventories of other retailers or manufacturers, so we would be unable to assist in helping you find one. it is an older model from 2016, and to the best of our knowledge is not manufactured anymore by Nike, so it will not be easy to find. The glove was also $499 as its original price.
