Description

Mizuno has once again made it their priority to develop the games most exclusive line of ball gloves. One of those series is the Prospect Series. Mizuno's patented PowerClose technology is unmatched in the industry. Others may try to duplicate, but no technology closes as easily. Multiple technologies like Pocket2, PowerClose, PowerLock, V-Flex, Side Bar, and SureFit Foam, afford the youth player the best options to make catching easy. The V-Flex helps initiate easy closure while the PowerClose makes it easier for younger players to close the glove and catch the ball. The Parashock palm pad with buttersoft and SureFit Foam lining in select Prospect Series models reduce shock to minimize "sting" while delivering superior feel and comfort. Above all, the PowerClose design MAKES CATCHING EASY! Make your Mark: Choose Mizuno! Free Shipping.

Is this glove leather? FALCON
While it doesn't list the specific material, the Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP900Y1) has a similar feel to other youth gloves that use pig skin instead of cowhide or steer hide leather.
Patrick
Can this glove be used as a training glove? Hi
The Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP900Y1) is designed for youth play. It has small finger stalls and wrist opening for a more secure fit on a child's hand. It can be used for any style of play by a youth player.
Patrick
Is it advisable to use oil in this glove? Falcon
The soft leather and PowerClose technology featured on the Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP900Y1) make glove oil somewhat unnecessary.
Patrick
Can you steam the gloves? steve
We do not recommend steaming the Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP900Y1) or any other glove because it can hurt the durability and longevity of the glove. Below is the link on our website with more information on how to break-in a glove. http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-resource-guide/breaking-in-a-glove/

I need it for my 5 year old son. Is this the right size? He throws with his left hand. He will be using it to play catch and get him to get used to catching the ball. coscho
At 9.00" the Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP900Y1) would be an excellent option for your son. I might also recommend the 10.00" Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP1000Y1) which will give your son a little more room to grow into.
Jake
Is this glove for an adult? Q C DeCota
No, the Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP900Y1) is a Youth pattern, so it will feature shorter finger stalls and smaller wrist openings with a Youth hand in mind.
Tessa
Can this glove be used for girls fastpitch played with 11" softball? There are no specific fastpitch gloves in the really small sizes! GTP
The Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP900Y1 Youth is specifically designed for use in baseball. I would recommend looking into a glove with a little bit longer of a pattern to be used with softball. A lot of gloves are designed for baseball, but can be used for softball with younger players.
Nick
Is this an all leather glove? Jeremy
The Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP900Y1 Youth is constructed from a synthetic leather.
Cameron
How do you suggest breaking this glove in? Will oil be needed? Shawn
To be honest, this Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP900Y1 Youth) is pretty much ready to go right out of the package. There is really no break-in that will be required since the leather will be so soft and the PowerClose Technology combined with the V-Flex Notch will make closing the glove very easy for the player. I do not think that oil will be needed to break in this glove.
