Description

Mizuno has once again made it their priority to develop the games most exclusive line of youth baseball gloves. One of those series is the Prospect Series. Mizuno's patented PowerClose technology is unmatched in the industry. Others may try to duplicate, but no technology closes as easily. Multiple technologies like Pocket2, PowerClose, PowerLock, V-Flex, Side Bar, and SureFit Foam, afford the youth player the best options to make catching easy. The V-Flex helps initiate easy closure while the PowerClose makes it easier for younger players to close the glove and catch the ball. The Parashock palm pad with butter soft and SureFit Foam lining in select Prospect Series models reduce shock to minimize "sting" while delivering superior feel and comfort. Above all, the PowerClose design MAKES CATCHING EASY! Make your Mark: Choose Mizuno! Free Shipping.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPL1100Y1 Youth? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I need a good glove for a soon to be 8 year old. He's mostly a third baseman, but plays some first base and some outfield. He's approximately 4'3" and 60-62 lbs. Would this be a good choice? mark
The Mizuno Prospect Series (GPL1100Y1) is actually a little larger than what our glove coach recommends for a player of that size. An alternative would be the Mizuno Prospect Series (GPP1000Y1) which is a very similar glove in a 10.00 inch pattern. Additionally both gloves feature extra palm padding as well as the patented Power-Close feature which assists in both catching the ball and ensuring firm closure for smaller hands.

I have a 9 yr old and I am thinking a 12" glove is too large. I am thinking he needs either an 11" or 11.5". He plays all positions, infielder most, except catcher. Would this glove work? jimmy
For a 9 year kid playing all positions, I would recommend going with a glove that has an 11.00" length. This Mizuno Prospect Series (GPL1100Y1) will be a solid option as it has a youth fitting and special PowerClose technology that helps younger players close the glove easier.

How does the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPL1100Y1 Youth compare with the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP1100Y1 Youth? Brandon
Both the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPL1100Y1 Youth and the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP1100Y1 Youth are 11.00 inch patterns that will feature the ParaFlex Palm Protection, ParaShock Palm Pad, Patented PowerClose Technology, and Patent-Pending Heel Flex Technology - Increases Flexibility and Closure. The main difference between the two will be the web. The Mizuno Prospect Series: GPL1100Y1 Youth will feature an Arched Tartan Web while the Mizuno Prospect Series: GPP1100Y1 Youth will have a Tartan Flex Web.
