However, unlike many game ready gloves, MVP Series gloves will give players long lasting durability. Inside the glove, players will find an Ultrasoft Palm Liner that provides serious comfort and keeps hands free from sting. These gloves are made specifically for baseball players with their position-specific designs and patterns that were selected by the best players in the game. These gloves feature a conventional open back design and professional-style webs to give players maximum performance. In addition, the redesigned MVP Series features the new Center Pocket design which allows for the most versatile break-in possible! It's time to have MVP performance in the palm of YOUR hand! Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno MVP Series: GXC57 Catcher's Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this a good glove for High School Baseball? Kerri
Yes, the Mizuno MVP Series: GXC57 Catcher's Mitt at 34.00" would be a good choice for a High School catcher.
Aubrey
Would this glove be good for 7th graders, using this glove through high school? Ben B
The Mizuno MVP Series (GXC57) Catcher's Mitt is a 34" pattern, which may be a little large for your age. (We actually recommend a 32" pattern.) It is tough to say how long any glove will last, however, with proper glove care techniques, this glove can definitely last a couple seasons.
Tessa L.
I'm playing in an over 35 league and need a new glove. What is the difference between this one and the GXC50PB1 and do they have the padding to handle 70-80 mph? mikeb
The Mizuno MVP Series (GXC57) will have a more game ready leather that will not require much break in time. The Mizuno MVP Prime Series (GXC50PB1) will use a slightly higher quality of leather that will require more break in but will be more durable in the long run. Both gloves will have similar padding that would not issues holding up to 70-80 mph pitch speeds.

On average, how long would this take to break-in? What would the age category be for this glove? dylanlee149
The Mizuno MVP Series (GXC57) would be a good design for a more adult player probably 12 and up. It is fairly game ready so breaking it in should not take very long.

(1) What does it mean when it says "two-piece closed web" (2) Is this a better design to have in a catcher's mitt? (3) This glove boasts a "Game Ready Feel". Is it broken-in already? JD
(1) The Two-Piece Closed Web on this Mizuno MVP Series (GXC57 Catcher's Mitt) means that the webbing will be closed, but it will be built with two-pieces of leather instead of just one piece. (2) This design of webbing is advantageous because having the two pieces should allow the overall web structure to last longer than a single piece web. (3) This MVP model will come very soft and it may take a little bit of use to get it exactly where you want it for game-use, but the work needed will be very minimal.
