Coach J

Pros: We ordered the best rated middle infield gloves on the market that would potentially fit a U12 4'6" second baseman. We ordered gloves from Wilson A2K, A2000 Pedroia fit, Rawlings Heart of the Hide, Gamer & Taper, etc... We laid them all out in the garage (9 of them and without price tags) to see which one he would pick and decide upon. There where 3 finalist but ultimately for him the clear winner was this one. It felt balanced more so than the other ones, he had no sting from balls being fired in to him at 65-70 mph (the others he felt a slight sting), and he was able to get a quicker transfer out of the glove for turning 2. The glove does fit a smaller adult's hand and the wrist can be adjust through re-lacing for smaller hands.

Cons: None, really, but I don't understand why most glove heel hinges are off to the side and not centered. The only kids I see catch a ball and fold the glove over it at the factory hinge are the lesser skilled ones.

Pros: Really nice and soft for fielding and nice smaller size for up the middle infielders. Takes a bit of time to break in but once it is it has a great soft feeling of leather

Cons: no flaws I can think of.

Is this a youth or adult model? riverdogs
The Mizuno MVP Series is an adult model.
Kara
Would this glove be good for an 11 yr old shortstop & pitcher for the next few years? jay
The Mizuno MVP Series: GMVP1125B1 is an adult glove, but it would be a good size to grown into.
Kara
My son uses the MVP Prime (Black) for outfield. It is a surprisingly good glove for the price. He likes the stiffness/durabiltiy. He needs something smaller and stiffer for middle infield. Would the GMVP1125B1 be a good choice? Also considering the Wilson A1K. morris44
The Mizuno MVP Series: GMVP1125B1 would be a very comfortable infielder's glove. Yet, it would have the same soft feel as his current MVP Prime. If he wants that stiffer feel and is looking at the Wilson A1K Series, I would recommend that.
Brandon
My son will be 12 in December. He is about 5'4" and 95 lbs. Plays short, pitches and center field. Would you recommend this glove or should I be looking at youth models? Thanks. AJ
The 11.25" Mizuno MVP Series: GMVP1125B1 is best for an infield player only. We recommend the 11.50" Mizuno MVP Series: GMVP1150B1 for a utility player. Based on his size and age, and adult glove would be appropriate.
Kara
Could you describe any key differences between this glove, and the Mizuno MVP Prime GMVP1127P)? I'm looking for an infield glove for a 9U travel player. Paul
The Mizuno MVP Series: (GMVP1125B1) will be constructed using Bio Throwback Leather, whereas the Mizuno MVP Prime Series: (GMVP1127P) will incorporate an Oil Soft Plus Leather. These models will both have an infield design, and will have a game-ready feel. Ultimately, these models will be pretty similar, the biggest difference will be the materials used.

How does the durability of this glove compare with the Wilson Pro Soft Yak series gloves? Which is more durable? Me
The Mizuno MVP Series (GMVP1125B1) will feature the Bio-throwback leather. This leather is naturally very soft, and the glove will have a factory break-in. The Wilson Pro Soft Yak Series (BB1786) features the Ecco Yak leather. This leather has high natural strength, which allows Wilson to use thinner layers of leather for the glove construction. This results in a soft game-ready feel. In terms of durability, they will be very similar. Given proper care and storage, I would say the Yak series has a little more durability than the Mizuno model.
Joe
Which leather is better quality: MVP leather or MVP Prime leather? Corb
They are actually very similar. The Mizuno MVP Series (GMVP1125B1), or the MVP leather is actually Bio Throwback Leather. MVP Prime leather is actually called Oil Plus Leather. Both leathers are actually a softer leather, which means that they will require little to no break in. Generally with gloves, the price point will be your best insight into the quality of leather as well as the durability of the glove. Since both gloves are around the same price point, the quality will be very similar.
Tessa
Would it be possible to find a stiffer glove for around the price of this glove? Dj
The Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series (FGOP14-BN112) would be a model that is a similar price and style but with a slightly stiffer feel than the Mizuno MVP Series (GMVP1125B1) but it would not be a huge difference. Most gloves around that price range are designed to be more game ready.
Patrick
What size is this glove? Johnny Baseball
This Mizuno MVP Series (GMVP1125B1) will feature an 11.25" length.
