Pros: Overall I'm pleased with it. Does require a good breakin period. But after that,... AWESOME glove.

Cons: Took some time to breakin

Pros: After losing my glove of 8+ years I had to start looking for a new glove. I play mens fast pitch softball 3x a week so this glove had to be ready for quick use. This glove broke in quickly and had a nice quality leather. It really felt like a good glove, but it just didn't meet my specifications.

Cons: I had never tried the trapeze lace pattern before as I have always used a basket weave. The trapeze was extremely strange to me, I didn't like it at all. There are also loops for the thumb and pinky finger that I thought were really annoying when putting on or taking off the glove. The palm padding was thinner that I expected it to be as well. The biggest con for me was the fact that the hand hole was huge and there was no way to adjust it when your hand was in the glove. Thus, it had a very loose feel.

Pros: love this glove! it comes pretty stiff but after a week or so it starts loosening up quick ive had for about a month and a half and i love it always make the catches in centerfield! also leather is very high quality for price!

Cons: if you have big hands do not get the thumb pocket is extremely small it will cut off circulation, i suggest oiling inside of the glove and putting something bigger than your thumb in it let it sit and then youll be golden

Great Value OF Glove Brendan Player

Pros: Sleek looking glove that has lasted me 4+ seasons with no signs of wear. Just re-tightened the finger laces and it has stiffened up just like new. I love the center pocket design, don't let this glove flatten and it will stay centered pocket.

Cons: Thumb is tight for me (I wear an XL batting glove in the glove)

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this glove compare with the "Louisville Slugger TPX H2 Lite Series: H2L1275" as far as durability, comfort, and value for the cost? I am a 1st Baseman-turned outfielder and need a glove suitable for the outfield. Peter
Both are excellent outfield gloves. The H2L1275 will be a little lighter in weight compared to the GMVP1277P. Neither will have an advantage over the other in terms of durability. The GMVP1277P is a little softer out of the box and won't take as long to break in. I can't attest to comfort, because that really comes down to your personal preference as well as hand size. I have average size hands for an adult and the H2L1275 fit a little tighter than the GMVP1277P. I liked the fit and feel of the GMVP1277P a little better, but that's my personal preference.
Brett
What is the difference between the MVP series and the MVP prtime series? Babiii
The Prime Series is going to be a little bit softer leather. Otherwise, there is not a difference.
K.B.
Could this glove be used for 12' softball in the outfield? Would it recommended? lasershow
Because of the design of the pocket, it could easily be broken in to a 12" softball.
Linda
I am a Fastpitch softball player, is this glove ok to play softball with? I have large hands and I'm 6'0 feet tall and need something that has a larger inside than a softball glove. kjones
This will depend on the player. This glove can be used for softball due to the large pocket.
KG
Is this glove for softball or baseball? And does it suit a 14 year old left fielder? lusdabeas
The Mizuno MVP Prime Series is a baseball glove. We recommend a 12.50" to a 12.75" glove for your age and position.
Kara
I'm a 13 year old boy and play the whole outfield and pitch. Will this glove be good for me? lefty
For a 13 year old who plays the outfield and pitches, I would actually recommend a 12.5 inch model. However, if you prefer a slightly larger than average glove, or plan on playing mostly outfield in upcoming years, the GMVP1277P would be an excellent option.
Tyler
I was just wondering if this glove would work as a good infield glove (mainly 3rd base)? I have a big hand and prefer bigger gloves to play the infield. mjks
The Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P is meant to be used in the outfield, but if you are used to using a bigger glove, it should work for you.
Zach
What is the difference between this glove and the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series GCP79S besides the color and price and which one would you prefer for high school play? Emilio24
The GCP79S is constructed from a slightly higher quality leather and will be a little more durable. Both are great gloves and it's up to your personal preference as to which one to get.
Tyler
Im a 14 year old boy , who plays the outfield . Would this glove be good for me ? If not , what are other gloves that I can purchase ? asjdfaf
A 12.25" to 12.5" glove is most common for a 14 year old outfielder. A few great options in the same price range are the Wilson A1000 SuperSkin Series: BB1799SS and Louisville Slugger Omaha Pro Series: OPRO1250.
Tyler
What glove would you recommend for a 16 year old outfielder between the Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P or the Rawlings Gamer Dual Core Series: GDC1250? Nathan
Both the Mizuno MVP Prime and the Rawlings Gamer Dual Core are both great outfielders gloves. The Rawlings for the price is going be the better glove to go with because it is going to have quite a bit better leather quality.
Noah
Is this a awesome glove for baseball or softball? Superman
Yes, the Mizuno MVP Prime Series would be great for either baseball or softball.
Chad M.
Is this glove 100 percent leather? 252
The Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P is made of 100% Oil Soft Plus Leather.
Katie
Is this glove durable? 252
The Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P is made of an Oil Soft Plus Leather, which gives you a supple but robust feel. Mizuno also uses thicker stitching for added durability.
Katie
Would you recommend this glove or the Rawlings Gold Glove Legend Series: GGL302CV? meweeee
The Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P and Rawlings Gold Glove Legend Series: GGL302CV are very comparable in terms of quality. The Rawlings will break-in a lot quicker than the Mizuno, as it has an 80% factory break-in.
Katie
Would this glove be great for a 13 year old as an outfield glove? Wookie
Based on your age and position, we recommend a 12.50" to 12.75" model. The Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P would be a good option at 12.75".
Aubrey
I'm 16 but I have massive hands. Would this be good for someone like me? Joe
Yes, the Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P would be a good glove for someone with large hands.
Damon
I'm going to be playing the next three years of baseball and I play about 40-50 games a year as well as practice about 3 times a week. Would this glove be able to last those three years or would a Wilson A1K be better? (I play second base) kp34
The Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P is a 12.75" glove. I would not recommend this for second base. I would recommend looking at a 11.5" or 11.25" instead. In general, the life of the glove depends on quality of leather in the glove and how well you are able to take care of it.
Justin R.
Would this be a good glove for short stop and outfield? the player
This Mizuno MVP Prime Series: GMVP1277P is a great glove for outfield use. However, the 12.75" pattern size is much larger than what infielders typically choose. A 13+ year old short stop usually chooses the 11.25" or 11.50" pattern sizes. The Utility pattern for that age of player is 12.00" which would be a compromise for infield and outfield use.
Mac
I am 17 years old, and I play outfield and pitcher. I need a glove that will work for me because I have big hands. Dew
This Mizuno MVP Prime Series (GMVP1277P) features a 12.75" pattern size which is a great choice for an outfielder. That pattern size might be a bit larger than the typical recommendation for a pitcher, but you can absolutely use the larger size if you're comfortable with it. The fit on your hand will be pretty comparable among different gloves in this category, but please take advantage of the 100 Day Guarantee and free shipping label if it wasn't just right: https://www.justballgloves.com/returns/
Mac
I play outfield and infield. What size should I get? Hammertime
If you are planning on using the same glove for infield and outfield I would not go any bigger than 12". I would not suggest using the Mizuno MVP Prime Series (GMVP1277P) on the infield.
Aaron
I play outfield in high school. Is this one of the best gloves that I can get? What if anything would be better? Hilde
The Mizuno MVP Prime Series (GMVP1277P) is a great choice for a high school outfielder. It is high quality and will be one of the best gloves in this price range.
