The 34.00" pattern size of the Mizuno MVP Prime Fastpitch Series Catchers Mitt (GXS50PF1) is regrettably the only size they produce the MVP Prime Catcher's Mitts in. Currently, the only fastpitch catcher's mitt we carry that is smaller than 34.00" is the Mizuno Prospect Fastpitch Series (GXS101) Youth model.

Ultimately, the size of a catchers mitt that a player is comfortable using would depend on their personal preference. 34 inch mitts like the Mizuno MVP Prime Fastpitch Series Catchers Mitt (GXS50PF1) would be a bit on the bigger size but offers a bigger target for the pitcher as well as a large pocket for secure catching. Smaller gloves will provide a lighter feel for better maneuverability and an easier transition to the throwing hand. Which style you would like would be based on which design features you value more.

I would recommend passing on this glove if you are looking for a mitt to fit an adult male hand. My recommendation would be to get an adult baseball mitt with a large circumference so that it can handle a softball. A Mizuno option to consider is the Mizuno MVP Prime Series Catchers Mitt (GXC50PB1) which will fit an adult male hand and have a 34.00" circumference which should handle a softball well.
