However, unlike many game ready gloves, MVP Fastpitch gloves will give players long lasting durability. These gloves are made specifically for the female athlete with their narrower finger stalls, vertically laced heel, and V-Flex Notch that helps initiate easy closure. These gloves have a closed back design with a PowerLock adjustable Velcro wrist strap for a custom fit and maximum performance. In addition, the redesigned MVP Fastpitch Series features the new Center Pocket design which allows for the most versatile break-in possible! Pros: I'm a 15 year old left hand catcher play 18U in Arizona. My notes: Requires minimal breakin time. Deep pocket secures catches. Flexible hinge action. Comfortable fit. Confidence inspiring. Looks Good.

Cons: None to report at this time.

Pros: My daughter is 12 years old and her Mizuno Prospect 101 32.5" Cathers Mitt has gotten to small for her hand. I was afraid the Mizuno GXS57 would be too big of a glove for her. But it is the perfect size. Love the leather, the pocket is deep, perfect for the 12" ball, and easy to break in. Used it is a tournament the next day after receiving it, and she only dropped one ball. We made a great Choice.

Cons: No Cons

Pros: very nice glove but has a flaw

Cons: My daughter play varsity and travel and loves the glove, but the stitching holding the web broke in two spots after only two months of practice and 4 games. I was able to re-stitch the glove myself but if you can't do that the warranty only last 100 days and you may want to look at something else

Pros: In 12U my daughter had a GXS92 that she loved, but her pitchers were starting to throw hard enough that she wanted something with more padding for 14U. She tried the Worth Liberty Advanced and a Mizuno GXS31 also. They were much stiffer mitts (and the Worth had a sheepskin lining at the wrist which she dislikes because it gets nasty.) She preferred the feel of the GXS57 which appears to have all the aspects of her good old GXS92 plus more padding.

Cons: None so far, but someday she may find that her pitchers outpace the GXS57 padding as well and then we'll have to come back to JustBallGloves again!

Pros: This is my daughter's second GSX57. The first one was stolen, along with her catcher's mask. Her team gave her new gear and we decided to try another glove. We got her a Louisville Slugger Xeno catchers glove to match her pads. She did not like it right away, as it was smaller than her stolen Mizuno, and not padded enough. She plays for a very competative 12U team, and was begging me to replace her old glove. She feels that much more confident with it. Break in time is short, and the quality of the last glove and this new one are both excellent. I hope this one sticks around longer than a few months, as these are getting harder to find.

Cons: They seem to walk away on their own....

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series: GXS57 Catcher's Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My 13 yr old is using an old Easton SFP20 catchers mitt. I think it is a 34". She has been catching for many years on travel teams. We are thinking about the GXS57 and wondering if it will fit similar to the Easton size wise. It sounds from what I have been reading that a 34" may be a little big for a girl her age. We recommend a 33.00" fastpitch glove. Here are few options for you: http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/

my daughter is a catcher for a travel softball in 14U fastpitch, she injured her thumb (gamekeeper thumb) was wondering what would be a good catchers mitt to protect her or minimize this from this happening again ? maggie
With a ParaShock Palm Pad, the Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series: GXS57 has above average padding, and would be a great option for your daughter.

I'm looking for a Men's Left Handed catcher's mitt what would recommend? moku
Check this out: http://www.justballgloves.com/product/louisville-slugger-tpx-pro-flare-series--cmcc-catchers-mitt/13648/ It is the Louisville Slugger TPX Pro Flare Series: CMCC Catcher's Mitt. It does come in a Left Handed Thrower. It will have a closed Web and a Deep Pocket. It will feature Extra Wide Lacing for added Durability. It will have a Flare Design which will provide a larger catching surface. The Break-In period will be quicker than other gloves but still take a little time to get it where you want it. It is made from Top Grade Oil-Infused Horween Leather.

My daughter is 15 and catches for a 18u travel team and her high school team. I'm looking for a new mitt for her. She plays at least 100 games a year. Will this be a durable glove for her? If not what do you recommend? rob g.
The Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series: GXS57 Cather's Mitt would be a great selection for the serious fastpitch player. It's made from soft, pebbled, Bio Throwback Leather. Mizuno MVP Fastpitch gloves are game ready straight from the box. However, unlike many game ready gloves, MVP Fastpitch gloves will give players long lasting durability. Inside the glove, players will find an Ultrasoft Palm Liner and a ParaShock Palm Pad that provides serious comfort and keep hands free from sting. If you want to checkout a Mitt even more durable than this one look at the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series or Wilson A2K Fastpitch Series Catcher's Mitts.

My daughter has a GXS92 (I think) that she uses for varsity high school and travel. She loves the fit of the glove but broke the webbing warming up her school pitcher. I am looking at the GXS57 and GXS31 as replacements. Other than cost what at the pros and cons of each? fastpitchmom
The Mizuno Classic Fastpitch Series: GXS31 is made with higher quality leather and will be more durable. However, it will take a little longer to break-in due to the higher quality leather. The Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series: GXS57 will be game ready and has a softer feel, but it will not be as durable.
Tyler
Between GXS57 and GXS92 which is better? jack
Both the Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series: GXS57 Catcher's Mitt and the Mizuno Franchise Pro Series: GXS92 Fastpitch Catchers Mitt are great gloves. The difference between the two is that the GXS57 will have more padding in the glove than the GXS92.
Sean
Is this glove available for a right handed thrower? Susan
At this time we are unfortunately sold out of the right hand thrower in the Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series: (GXS57) Catcher's Mitt.
Merritt
I am trying to replace my catcher's mitt that got left behind at a tournament. I bought a Mizuno GXS90F1 but I can't get my hand into it. I am considering the GXS57, but am not sure if I will have the same problem. Is the hand opening any wider on this model? Coach Keith
The Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series (GXS57 Catcher's Mitt) will feel the same. As these are fastpitch mitts, they are made for a woman's hand and not a male. The finger stalls and wrist opening will feel tighter than a baseball catcher's mitt.
Brandon
Could you please tell me the difference between the Mizuno GXC57 and the Mizuno GXS57 glove? fletch
The Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series (GXS57) Catcher's Mitt is a fastpitch softball mitt designed for a woman's hand and features an adjustable wrist strap. The Mizuno MVP Series (GXC57) Catcher's Mitt is a baseball mitt designed for an adult male's hand and features a conventional open back.
Tom
When will this glove be in stock? Jennie
We are expecting an order for the right handed option of the Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series (GXS57) to come in some time this coming week.
Patrick

You would order a Right Handed Thrower Mizuno MVP Fastpitch Series (GXS57 Catcher's Mitt)
