Description

Developed with USA All-Star Jennie Finch, the Franchise Finch series was designed to meet the specific biomechanical needs of the fastpitch softball player. These mitts are made from oiled Durasoft leather that provides unrivaled comfort and game-ready playability. Comfort is enhanced as SureFit Foam is added to the finger stalls to create a cushioned and more customized fit. This custom fit feeling is amplified by a Power Lock Wrist Closure that provides the quickest and most secure fit available. The Franchise Finch series uses a Double Hinge Heel that creates an extra wide pocket for secure catching. These gloves also feature a V-Flex Notch that is designed to help initiate easy closure. Plus, with a ParaShock Palm Pad, that stinging feeling after a catch will not be an issue. The Franchise Finch series is worth owning not only because of all of the technology and practicality it provides, but it is also cosmetically appealing. The unique web styles on this series are specially designed for fastpitch softball and will undoubtedly turn some heads. With a Sakura leaf pattern around the web, players will take the field in style! Mizuno: Be Yourself. Only Better! Free Shipping!

Would this glove be good for a youth player? My daughter is 8. jay
At 12", the Mizuno Franchise Finch Series: GFN1209 is a little too big for your average 8 or 9 year old. A better size would be 11" to 11.5".
Tyler
My daughter is 12 years old and plays infield would a 12 inch glove be too small or does she need a bigger size? lex
Using the Glove Coach Feature on justballgloves.com I was able to determine that an 11.50" model is recommended on the Mizuno Franchise Finch Series: GFN1209 Fastpitch glove for a 12 year old player. Using a 12" glove should still be fine. It would also allow her to get more use out of the glove long term.

The Mizuno Franchise Finch Series: GFN1209 Fastpitch at 12.00", is slightly small for first base play, at 12.00". For a 14 year old, we'd recommend a 12.50" model, such as the Mizuno Franchise Finch Series: GFN1259 Fastpitch.
