Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GXC27 Catcher's Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is your largest fastpitch catchers mitt? My husband is 6'1" with long fingers. He ordered the GXC27RG, but it's a little short in the fingers. Is that a 34"? Do you have larger? Thanks. Margie
The largest catchers mitts we have are 35 inches. If you're referring to fastpitch softball, then this glove may be difficult to use because it is a baseball mitt with a much smaller pocket. Most men who want a glove they can use to catch fastpitch softball will use a larger baseball glove (around 13 inches) or a baseball firstbase mitt (around 13 inches). If you're referring to a baseball catchers mitt, under "Shop By Size" on the left side of the webpage, click "35.00". This will show all the 35 inch mitts.

Is this a fastpitch catchers mitt? It doesn't state anywhere. I'm having trouble finding a large enough fastpitch catchers mitt for a large-hand dad to catch her daughter. Margie
This is not a fastpitch catcher's mitt. All fastpitch catcher's mitts (no matter how big they are) will be stitched with much more narrow finger slots and a more narrow hand opening to better fit a smaller hand. I have average size hands for an adult male, and any fastpitch catcher's mitt is pretty uncomfortable on my hand. Most coaches and dads of fastpitch softball players will use a regular 13 inch baseball glove or 13 inch baseball firstbase mitt when catching their players. Feel free to give us a call at 1-866-321-4568 with any specific questions.
Tyler
would this fit me i am 5'4 big hands and 14 evan
At 34 inches, it is a bigger than average mitt for a 14 year old. However, if you are bigger for your age you may be able to get by using a 34 inch mitt.

does the glove have alot of padding and can it hold up with speeds of 90 + miles? howboutdemctowntrojans#19
Yes, this glove should be able to withstand pitches that are around 90 mph"s. This is going to be a very durable glove that has a lot of padding. This is a glove that is meant for higher quality baseball, so it will withstand harder pitches.
Brett
My son wants this glove but he is only 12 do you make a small version of this glove or can he handle it Kyle
This is a 34inch glove, it could be a little big. Another one to look at is the Mizuno Global Elite Series: GXC10 Catcher's Mitt it is a 32.50" glove.
Linda
How does this glove compare to the Wilson A2000? LB
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GXC27 is very comparable to the Wilson A2000 line. They are both durable. The Wilson will be a little lighter weight because of the superskin material. The Mizuno has a little softer leather.
Kara
Is the the right size for a 5'8" 12 year old? Benos32
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series (GXC27) Catchers Mitt has a circumference of 34.00 inches, This would be a good size for an 12 year old and he should be able to use it for awhile.
Jackson
I catch guys on my high school team that throw 88 mph- 95 mph. Will this glove hold up? TS
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series (GXC27 Catcher's Mitt) will be able to hold up while catching those pitch speeds. To maximize the longevity of the glove, we would also suggest regular oiling (when glove is showing signs of dryness) and storing the glove in a controlled climate (not in a garage or trunk).
