Pros: I play High School shortstop. This glove broke in fast. It scoops easy, and has a nice pocket which is easy and quick to retrieve the ball from.

Cons: Th first glove I got had some stiching tear out. I contacted Justballgloves.com and they sent me a new one overnight. No issues and easy exchange. I haven't had a problem with the replacement after many games.

Pros: Break in period was about 2 days of tossing and kneading the glove. (Used one pass with steam after nokona conditioning) Glove has held up really well, I play about 4 games during the week and Tournaments on saturdays (mens during the day and coed at night) so about 12-16 games a week during the season. Position - 2nd Base.

Cons: Had to tighten the laces twice since I had the glove (owned a little over a year) but nothing other then that, the glove is solid and will last a long time with good care, just keep it conditioned.

Pros: Easy break in. Soft but durable leather.

Cons: Not really a con, but anticipate the need to tighten laces as they are loose to aid the initial break in. Especially the fingers. Just tightened lower web and fingers half way through season and made huge difference. Using glove for ss at 13u.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP53S? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference in quallity between the gcp53s and the gmp63 series gloves? My son broke his glove hand index finger at the base of the finger , using a Nokona amg12. i need a glove that has more pocket padding. Will the gcp53s be a better glove with the padding i need, price doesn't really matter. QUICKHANS
The GMP63 will be made from a higher quality leather that is a little more durable. In terms of padding, the GCP53S may actually have a little more padding that will help your son.

Whats the difference between the Classic Pro Soft glove and the Global elite and Mizuno pro? What kind of leather is this glove made of and is this glove good? Babiii
The Mizuno Pro Series uses high quality japanese Leaather, it is very soft and keeps it shape over time. The Pro Soft Series uses pre-oiled "throwback" leather which gives it a more vintage look, most like "distressed" leather. The Global Elite Series is made of steerhide leather which is very stiff and heavy and requires a long break in period. You can't go wrong with any of these gloves. All three gloves are high quality leather and durable.

Will this glove stay firm or will it become floppy? 4
Compared to other gloves in the same price range, the GCP53S holds it's shape very well. It may get pretty soft, but not floppy.
Derek
What is a better fit for my 13 yr old son the 11.5 or this one 11.75 Carlos
It actually depends on the position he plays, and his preference of the size he likes.
Linda
GCP53S is used by adults or children. Johnny O
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series is an adult glove.
Brad
Which glove is better the mizuno classic pro soft series gcp53s or the Rawlings heart of the hide pro mesh Pronp5pM? Eleva
100% of that comes down to your personal preference. Both are great gloves that will perform great. With the number of high quality gloves on the market nowadays...there isn't one that stands out amongst the rest as "the best"
Tyler
difference between Mizuno Classic Pro soft gcp65s and gcp53s? Bubba D
The GCP65S is an 11.5 inch model. The GCP53S is an 11.75 inch model.
Tyler
How deep is the pocket in this glove im playing SS and want another .25" but im worried this pocket will be too deep for the quick transfers and will this glove hold up for several seasons and lots of practice or should i look elsewhere maybe higher quality? any thoughts? Thanks alot!! K_Smoove
Being that it is an infielder's glove, the GCP53S will have a fairly shallow pocket. This is a high quality glove that should last multiple years while maintaining good shape and performance.
Tyler
I play thrid for a travel team and school team will this glove last me 2-3 years mike
Yes, the GCP53S is going to last for a very long time. the 11.75" size is going to be ideal for 3rd base play.
Sean
if i play both shortstop and outfield for my high school team, will this glove give me the versatility to use it for both position? Jake
At 11.75" the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP53S is just a little too small for a High School utility player who plays multiple positions. I would recommend a 12" glove.
Tyler
Does this glove fit larger hands? Nick
Yes. The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP53S is a full-sized glove.
Tyler
I'm going to be in high school, and play secend base. If I order this glove what size should I get? Lamon
I typically see middle infielder's in high school use a glove size of 11.50". The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP53S will be a 11.75". This glove will still work for you. I just see the 11.50" glove being the more popular choice.
Brandon
My son is 11, he has a 11.5" Akadema glove at the present, I want to go up to 11.75" with his new glove, but there are not a lot of choices in that size in youth. He likes the Mizuno GCP53S 11.75" but it is adult, do you think it will be too large for him? g-man
Going to a 11.75" adult model from a 11.50" youth model may be too large for your son. The finger stalls on the Mizuno GCP53S will be quite a bit bigger than the finger stalls on his Akadema.
Noah
Would this glove also do well in the outfield? Jaden H
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP53S is slightly small for outfield for most ages, at 11.75". We'd recommend around a 12.00" or bigger, such as the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP19S.
Katie
What is the difference between a youth 12" glove and an adult 11.75"? Keaschall
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series: GCP53S will be an 11.75" adult model. A 12" youth model would be a .25" larger in size. Also, the 12" youth would have skinnier finger stalls and a tighter wrist opening compared to an adult glove, as all youth gloves will.
Brandon
I really love this glove and web combination, but I play outfield. I was wondering if you guys had a glove at the size of 12" with this same kind of glove and web? Keaschall
No, at 12" we only have a fully closed basket web or a modified T-web in the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series.
Brandon
Will this glove be better for shortstop or third base? moles
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series (GCP53S) would be ideal for third base. 11.75" models are typically recommended for that position.
Gary T.
I know the palm part of the glove isn't too thick but does the glove reduce sting? ayydee12
Yes, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series (GCP53S) has a good amount of padding to reduce sting on catches.
Sean
Is it possible that a hard thrown ball could get stuck/go through the webbing of this glove? Or is the web able to secure the ball properly. Bob
The webbing on the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Series (GCP53S) is not large enough for a ball to pass through under any circumstance. Additionally, the glove is very durable and this situation is highly unlikely to occur.
