Description

For the better part of the past decade, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft series has been a favorite of ball players everywhere. These gloves feature classic designs with the new and innovative web styles that Mizuno has become known for. The Future series was designed for the next generation of superstars, with all the same features as the pro model! The Classic Pro Soft series is made from Mizuno's Throwback Leather that is a rugged, rich and naturally pre-oiled. This leather is soft, yet durable enough that it maintains it's shape over time. Players will be able to make catches without the fear of sting as these gloves feature an UltraSoft Pro palm liner for added protection, excellent feel and a soft finish. Every Classic Pro Soft glove has a new Roll Welting to increase structure and support throughout the fingers. With a lightweight feel and extra structural support, these gloves are quick to the ball and will retain their shape for years to come. Each Mizuno glove is handcrafted to the highest quality control standards. All of Mizuno's glove craftsmen have been through a rigorous certification process overseen by Master Craftsmen Kosaku Kishumoto (fielder's gloves) and Kuni Nakamura (mitts) who together have over 65 years of experience making ball gloves. Pros: This is a great glove. Bought one for my 9yo (now 10) last year. Plays 2nd base on a travel ball team. Glove has app. 75 games on it and has held up very well. Just bought another one for my younger son and am thinking of buying the adult model for myself. Great fit, great pocket, good quality, at a much lower cost than other gloves of the same quelity. Both of my boys love them and it gives them a lot of confidence on the field.

Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP40F Youth? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

my son is 10 plays 2nd/SS would this be a good glove or go with the adult version? Rexj75
The GCP40F would be great for his age and position. I would only consider an adult if he has larger hands for his size.
Mark
What size of pocket is this? Looking for one to assist with fast ball transfer, and an extension of the hand feel. Thanks Rexj75
Pocket size isn't something that is measured, but this glove will have an average size pocket when compared to other 11.25 inch infield models.
Mark
Which glove would be better for a 9 yr old with small hands? This GCP40F Youth or Franchise Series GFN1102? Smitty
The GCP40F is going to be the better glove. It is going to use better leather and be a more durable glove than the GFN1102. The GCP40F is a glove that is going to be able to be used for multiple years based on the durability of the glove.
Todd
Someone had told me that this glove (Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP40F Youth) will fit smaller hands better than the Rawlings Gold Glove Gamer Pro Taper Series: GG1102G—even though it's 11.25" vs. the 11" Rawlings. Is that true? CBC
Mizuno glove do tend to run smaller than the size listed, and Rawlings do tend to run true to the size listed, so yes, that statement is correct.
Sean
My son is currently playing with an easton Nat Elite 11" youth. Time to get a new golve to get ready fot the spring. He is 9 with small hands. How do they compare? KB Golf
The Pro Soft Series is going to have a higher quality leather, makiing it more durable than the Natural Elite. The Pro Soft Series will take a little bit longer to break in than the Natural Elite Series.

I am looking to buy a new glove for my son who is 9 years old. Does the GCP40F model come in a youth and adult version? If so is there a difference in size if they are both a 11.25 size. I am thinking he needs the youth version if there is a difference. What is your recommendation? Tara
I wold definitely recommend this glove, the youth size will have smaller hand slots for smaller players.

Which glove would be better for a 14 year old ht 5'6 weight 140 the GCP40S or the GCP40F? I need a glove asap. He was using a Rawlings Gold Glove Pro Series it was 3 yrs old & dry so I oiled it and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes which RUINED IT. I need a glove that will brake in really quick for this season. I'm in the dog house help me get out. Is this the right glove? He is middle infielder & pitcher & being 14 years old would the GCP40F or the GCP40S work best for him? Thank you need glove asap! dog house
This glove is a youth model and will be small for a 14 year old. The GCP40S will be a better fit as that is an adult glove and will give him more room in the finger stalls to grow. The GCP40S glove will be perfect for infield players, be durable, and be pre-oiled for a quick break in.
Kris
How is this glove when compared to the GWW 1127? My other son has this and it was immediately available to play with. Is this the same or does it need more break in time? Love the 1127. David
The GCP40F will need to be broken in. It should only take a week or two to get it game ready.
KB
What positions is this glove ideal for? Ezaz
This glove would be good for infield positions. The common size for infielders is about 11-11.50 inches, so this would be perfect for that. Most outfielders tend to prefer gloves that measure between 12-12.50 inches, so this might be too small for an outfielder.
Jennifer
Would this glove be good for a 12 year old boy that plays middle infield? Red
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP40F Youth is 11.25 which is a great length for a middle infielder, but it is a youth model which would not work. A 12 year old would be using an adult model glove. Here is a link to an adult model glove that would work great for the 12 year old middle infielder. http://www.justballgloves.com/product/mizuno-global-elite-series--gge41/11969/ http://www.justballgloves.com/product/mizuno-classic-pro-soft-series--gcp65s/11976/
Tom
Would this glove be too big for a 8 yr old boy? ricky
The 11.25" Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series youth glove should fit your 8 year old just fine. If there are any problems with the glove we offer a worry-free, 100 day return policy on all of our gloves.
Noah
My son is 11 1/2 years old, would this glove last him a couple of years or should he go with an adult glove? He plays infield, with the higher grade leather I would think this would work but I understand at 12 they go to adult sizes. Mark
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP40F Youth is a great glove and would certainly last your son several seasons. The only danger you run is if he hits a growth spurt and outgrows the glove.
Kevin
My son is playing with a 11.25 Wilson A2000 showcase SS. We are looking for a lighter glove, with a softer feel. How does this glove compare? Scott
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series will be durable but have a softer feel with the pre-oiled throwback leather.
Damon
Is this glove real leather or synthetic leather? Joe
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP40F) uses real leather.
Kara
Can this be used for a girl in softball? ez
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP40F) Youth is best suited for a youth baseball player. The design of the glove, including the pocket, are for catching a baseball. The GCP40F can be used for softball, but you might not get the performance you are looking for in a glove.
Jason
If the GCP40F is discontinued, is there a glove that is replacing this model? Vic
Yes, the model that has replaced the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP40F) is the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP41F). Here is a link to that glove: http://goo.gl/BJ9NrU
