Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP10F Youth? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My 11 year old is currently using a 11.5" fielders glove. It is getting worn out and I want to upgrade, but sizing is a concern. He is a tall kid so was wondering if 12" is too big of an upgrade or should I go with 11.75". He plays all infield and pitching positions. Nyeddie
The ideal size for playing infield and pitching would be 11.5". If sizing is a concern, I would recommend going to an adult sized 11.5" instead of the youth.
Justin R.
Would you recommend the GCP10F or the Nokona Bloodline BL200 Youth? My son is 9. He is big for his age. He plays first base and outfield. E
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: GCP10F Youth glove should be slightly easier to break-in. The Nokona Bloodline BL200 Youth will feel more stiff. Both gloves would be a great choice for the youth player.
Brandon
I am a 14 yer old high school ball player and I'm 5'10. What size glove is better for 3rd base and pitching, a 11.75 or a 12 inch? Also, which brand makes a better glove for these positions? John T.
I would recommend a 11.75" adult model. A youth model is designed to fit a younger player. I would take a look at the Mizuno Global Elite Series (GGE5) model. It is ideal for an infielder and pitcher.
John
Is this a baseball glove? It has "soft" in its name. Also, my son is a small 12 year old. Will the 12"(youth) be too big for him? He is an outfielder...is this an outfielder model? Claudia
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP10F) is a baseball model. The 12 inch size will be perfect for a youth outfielder.
Bobby
My son will be 9 in 2 weeks and will move up next yr to kid pitch. He is tall for his age and is using an 11" glove and needs a bigger one. I expect him to either play 3rd or outfield so I am debating on getting him an 11.75" or a 12". What size and gloves do you recommend? Breeze
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP10F) is typically used by an outfielder. We typically recommend an 11.75" for a utility player.
Kara
Would this glove be a good fit for a player that is between 14-16 years old, and is also a pitcher? Marco
Depending on the size of the player's hand, the Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series: (GCP10F) Youth might be a little too small. However, it is still going to be an excellent model. I might recommend taking a look at the Mizuno Global Elite Series: (GGE11). This model will also be high quality, but it will not be the youth model. Ultimately, it will come down to the size of the player's hand, but the adult model might be a good option to take a look at.
Merritt
My son is 7 and plays second base. He is big for his age, but we can't seem to find a glove he likes. He uses an adult glove now but his hand is a little small for it. Is the GCP10F youth a good fit for him? blake
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP10F) Youth is a great glove for a 7 year old. However, the 12" pattern might be a little big for a second baseman his age. The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP41F) Youth has an 11.25" pattern is typically a better glove for an infielder his age.
Jason
Does the youth model run the same as the adult in terms of size? Also, are the pockets the same size? I play slow pitch and currently use a 12" model but at times find it a pain to control due to having small hands. Shawn
The Mizuno Classic Pro Soft Future Series (GCP10F Youth) will have a much smaller wrist opening as well as significantly smaller finger stalls. It is doubtful that an adult would be able to fit their hand inside this glove. If you have fairly small hands, you could also consider a fastpitch model glove such as the Mizuno Classic Fastpitch Series (GCF1203). This will have smaller finger stalls as well as a narrower wrist opening, but is more likely to fit a small-handed adult male.
