I would recommend you go down to the next size in this glove. It comes in a 11.75".

This glove appears to have a flared thumb. Is that correct or is it just the way the picture came out? If so, is it okay to put a ball in the pocket and wrap it to form a good pocket or will that mess up the flared thumb? Are there other 12" flared gloves? jreg
The Miken Super Soft Series has a slightly flared glove. Wrapping the glove with a ball is a great way to break in the glove and should not mess up the flare.

Based on your daughter's age and position, an 11.5" or 12" glove is recommended. If you want a glove she can get multiple years of use out of, I would recommend a 12" model. She may outgrow an 11.5" glove too quickly, but it would be a good fit for her right now.

How does this glove compare to the Wilson A1000? rob.
The Miken Super Soft Series: MS120FP Fastpitch glove will have a deep pocket Fastpitch Softball Pattern. It will come Pre-Oiled with a Basket Web. It will be made from a Full Grain Leather Shell and feature PORON XRD Impact Reduction Technology. The Wilson A1000 FP12 Fastpitch glove will use Wilson's ECCO Leather for a Lightweight feel. This glove will have an H-Web and feature Wilson's Dri-Lex Technology. The A1000 will be lighter than the Miken. Both gloves will be very durable and have a softer game ready feel. They both will have a full 100 day warranty.

Can you unflare the thumb through break-in? Also would this be a good utility glove? H.
It will be very difficult to unflare the Miken Super Soft Series: MS120FP Fastpitch as it is part of the design of the glove. It would be a great utility glove.

Would this be a legal glove for pitching? The rule states "uniform color", so not sure how far that would be taken. JH
The Miken Super Soft Series: (MS120FP) does not have significant contracting colors. However, we always recommend to check with your local league official or coach to clarify the rules.

My daughter is 15, plays senior league little league, and High school softball at 2nd, 3rd and outfield. She is constantly wearing the inner lining out at the thumb. She currently using a 12". Should she get a larger glove? Tim
That will be a matter of preference. The Miken Super Soft Series (MS120FP) Fastpitch features a 12" pattern, which is ideal for her infield positions. For the outfield, our Glove Coach recommends that she use a 12.50" design. Sizing is preferential, so if she wanted to go up in size, that is definitely something to take into consideration. Ultimately, it will be up to her and what feels most comfortable.
