Pros: Excellent value for money--top quality leather all around. Very user friendly pattern, deep pocket and tight web. The glove has a very small had stall which should suit a smaller big field player or advanced little leaguer. Consider this glove for a 10+ year old. If the "flair" design is not to your taste, it could esily be worked into a conventional shape.

Cons: The laces are a little bit dry but should improve with regular oiling. Like many quality gloves, it will take some time to get game ready.

Pros: I got this glove today and I'm super excited to use it! The leather looks great and the colors are beautiful! Perfect size for me at 2nd base, deep pocket, I'm going to do the 2 fingers in the pinkie thing also. Also, the flare design didnt really pop out at me when I got it, but you can just form it a little I guess.

Cons: The laces are pretty dry but I just oiled them so they should get better.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Flare Series: OFL1125? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

would this glove fit a small 11 year old gusto
I think it would be. I probably wouldn't go any smaller than a 11.25" or any bigger than a 11.75". Generally, a 11.5" would be recommended, but if he's a littler smaller for his age, it wouldn't hurt to go to a 11.25".
Kyle
how does the flare on the pinky and thumb fingers make a difference on the glove and its production? matt
The "Flare" characteristic can add flexibility to the pocket structure. Many players, especially infielders, find it to be a benefit to shape a glove to their personal fielding strenghts.
Jeff
Will this glove fit a 12 year old with a very small hand, and is it a good choice for a shortstop playing on AAU teams/ high level baseball. Drew Connolly
Yes, this glove will fit a 12 year old. This will be a good glove for the infield. That is what this glove is made for.
Brett
would this be a good glove for a pitcher? B-player
Yes, this would be a good glove for a pitcher. This glove would be good for any position in the infield. Most infield gloves run from an 11.00-11.50.
Brett
is it ok for outfield? dante
It is all personal preference, but most outfielders will use anywhere from a 12 - 12.75 inch glove. An 11.25 may be a little small for the outfield.
Mark
Would you recemond this glove to a pitcher R-player
Sure. A lot of pitchers prefer a closed web glove, but this one would work.
Sean
Would this fit a 15 yr old Big guy
I believe that this would work great for a fifteen year old playing the infield. Most infielders use gloves that are 11.00-11.50.
Brett
what is the difference between this glove and the silver $149 flare series glove? Jett
The difference is going to be when these two gloves came out on the market. The OFL1125 is going to be a little older than the Silver Flare.
Brett
Between this glove and all the other gloves in the flare series, is there any difference in the glove besides the web, size, and color? Bigfoot11
That is going to be the difference and when these gloves came out. The newer gloves are going to be a little more expensive than the older ones.
Brett
why are there more expensive gloves in the flare series than others? Manly
A lot of the difference with these gloves is going to be when they came out. Some of the older gloves are going to be cheaper and the newer ones are going to be a little more expensive. The newer glove will be more expensive because they will have been made with newer technology.
Brett
What's the difference between the pro series flare gloves and omaha series flare? the machine
The difference between the OFL1125 and the FL1125CC is going to be the leather that is used in the glove. The FL1125CC is going to use a higher grade of leather than the OFL1125.
Brett
how long do you think this glove would last if you play a lot Ivan24
This is a very durable glove. This glove should last you a couple of years if you take care of the glove. Louisville Slugger gloves have been known to be very durable gloves.
Brett
My son 7yrs old has the 11" Omaha Crossover, and I was wanting to get him a little bigger glove. Would this glove fit much bigger in the hand area? I've heard Nokona has smaller than average hand stalls? Any other adult brand infield gloves of high quality that run small for hand/finger stalls? Coach Pitch Dad
The hand opening and finger stalls will be a little bigger in the OFL1125 compared to the 11 inch Crossover glove. In addition to Louisville's Crossover Series, a few others that run a little smaller are Mizuno's World Win Series and Rawlings Gold Glove Pro Taper Series. Nokona gloves also run just a little smaller than advertised.
Brett
What Size Is 11.5 Is It 11.50 ?? Javii
If a glove says it's 11.5, that means it is an 11.5 inch glove (measued from the tip of the index finger along the palm down to the heel of the glove). This particular glove is a 11.25 inch model.
TJ
Any chance a 7 year old boy can use it ? Thanks but i need a good quality glove for my son. Gerry
I would recommend a youth model for a seven year old. If he has a larger hand you could try this model. There is a 100 day guarantee on our gloves. If you are not satisfied you may return the glove at no additional charge.
K.B.
would this fit a 13 year old playing shortstop and 2nd base in 8th grade? bigjeff
Yes, this would be a great choice for an infield player. The glove is very durable and will last a few good seasons.
KG
Can you tell me which glove is lighter between this glove and FL1125CC, as well as compare the stiffness between the two gloves. I'm looking for an infield glove for a 10yo transitioning out of a youth glove. Jeff
The OFL1125 is a super easy glove to break in, pretty lightweight. The FL1125CC is also easy to break in, is just a little heavier, but very durable. Keep in mind our 100 day guarantee, if the one you choose doesn't work for him.
Linda
if you are 13 turning 14 soon, is this a good size glove? and which glove is better this or a Louisville Slugger 11.25" Omaha Pro Series Glove hc
What position do you play. If you play infield. It would work as most infielders prefer between a 11-12 inch gloves.
Linda
Which glove is better this or a Louisville Slugger 11.25" Omaha Pro Series Glove? I play 2b/ss hc2
The difference between the OFL1125 and the FL1125CC is going to be the leather that is used in the glove. The FL1125CC is going to use a higher grade of leather than the OFL1125.
K.B.
would this fit a 12 year old with a very small hand and plays 2nd base flip
Yes, the omaha will fit a player with small hands playing 2nd base
Sean
What is the size of the glove for a 12 year old Theboss
A 11.25 adult size would be a great size for your child.
Brad
Would this fit a 15 year old that is 5'1 105 lbs? Normy
Yes. I know a few players (some in college) that use this model as in middle infielder's glove. Your son shouldn't have a problem with it.
Tyler
I play at the college level at 3B and 2B. Would the 11.25 be a good fit for me? vega2012
If you are playing second base, then I would recommend the 11 1/4 in. glove. For third base, I would recommend a 11 3/4 in. glove. Middle infielders typically want a smaller glove so they can get the ball out of their glove faster.
Nick
Will this be good for an 11 year old? camcam
The appropriate size is also determined by the player's position on the field. An 11.25" glove like the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Flare Series is perfect for an infield glove. A utility player would normally use a 11.50" glove.
Kara
I am 11 will it be good for shortstop ? camcam
Absolutely. The Louisville OFL1125 would be a great glove for you to use.
Tyler

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
