Pros: So far so good. We have only had this glove for about three weeks. It seems to be a quality glove. It works for us and only time will till if it will hold up under the use we will give it.

Cons: As of this writing there are no cons.

Glad I bought it. Terence Coach

Pros: I bought this glove for my 12 year old to step up from the small league issued glove. What a great decision so far. He has been using it for three weeks now. The glove is nice. It came broken in. I was concerned that it would be hard for his small hands to close but it is not a problem. The padding is exceptional. This will help eliminate some seasonal injuries too. Lastly, it makes a great popping sound when ball is caught right.

Cons: None yet.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would you recommend this glove for a high school freshman that is 5'8" and 140 lbs? AJ
The All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT) Catcher's Mitt is an excellent catchers mitt for a high school freshman. The 33.50" model is an ideal size for a player your age.
Jason
I am 14 years old and I was wondering if this glove would be a good size fit for me? scoop
Yes, I think for a player your age you will need to be in either a 33" or a 33.5".
John
How do I know what size to order my son? I don't want to order the wrong size so just wondering if there's a way to measure and know? Cricket
Fielders gloves and first base mitts are measured by starting at the top of the index finger of the glove, down the finger along the inside of the pocket and then out to the heel of the glove. A flexible tape measure has to be used, not a stiff ruler. Measure from the highest point on the glove (normally the index finger). Lay the tape measure across the palm of the glove, so that it folds across and into the indenture, down to the heel of the glove. We also do have a glove coach option, available on our website, this tool will help determine the correct size based on the age of the player as well. These are just a couple options to help you figure out the best size to go with.

What the difference between this glove and the (CM3030BB) Catcher's Mitt? Would this glove last a good amount of time for college? DBSCATCH32
The only differences between the All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT) Catcher's Mitt and the (CM3030BB) are the color of the leather and the adjustable wrist strap offered on the (CM3030BT). The "BB" model offers the Black and Brown colorway while the "BT" offers the Black and Tan colorway. At the $79.99 and $69.99 price point, the leather in these catcher's mitts would likely not hold up long when catching at the collegiate level. I'm not sure how old the player is, but it may withstand a few seasons of catching high school pitching; but it's difficult to estimate the life of any glove.
Mac
Is the leather of this glove hard? Will last longer than a year? jayrez95
Because the steer hide used on the All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT) is pre-oiled, it will be slightly softer out of the box but, if taken care of, it should be durable and hold its shape for several seasons of play.
Patrick
Will the leather stay stiff or will it become really floppy over time? willy
The All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT) Catcher's Mitt has a oil-softened premium steer hide leather shell for a quick break-in. Unfortunately, this quick break-in causes the glove to eventually get floppy over time.
Jason
What size should I get? I'm 5'4", 200 lbs. and 15 years old. Edgat1
For a player of your size, we would recommend a 33.50 inch glove like the All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt).
Joe
I am a sophomore in high school and am starting JV catching this year. Would you recommend this glove for a starting catcher? dhauptmann6
The All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT) Catcher's Mitt has a oil-softened premium steer hide leather shell for a quick break-in. This quick break-in does cause the glove to eventually get floppy over time. I would recommend looking at a glove with a higher grade leather that has not been factory softened such as the All Star Pro Series (CM3100SBT) Catcher's Mitt if you were looking for something with a bit more durability.
Joe
My nephew is a high school freshman and plays travel ball and for his high school team. Would this glove hold up for a year? Amy
The All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT) is a high quality catcher's mitt that should hold up to extensive use if taken care of.
Patrick
When will this price lower? jonny gomez
Right now, I am unsure when the All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt) will go on sale.
Frankie
What size is this glove? nick p
The All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt is a 33.50 inch pattern.
Cameron
How much doses it weigh? jhart
The All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt will weigh approximately 28 ounces.
John P.
My son is throwing about 65 mph, and when he practices with me, I don't have a catcher's mitt. I want something that will last. Would this be ideal? Catcher Charlie
The All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt would be a great option for you to catch your son. All Star is very well-known for their high-quality catcher's mitts and this mitt would take little time to break-in.
Marcus
Will this work for high school varsity level players? carlos
Yes, the All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt works for a high school varsity player. It has an adult 33.50" pattern.
Jason
My son needs a new catcher's mitt and I want All Star. Do they have a 33 inch that would fit a smaller hand. Right now he has the youth 31.5 but not big enough. I want to move him to a 33 inch, but he is ten. I am afraid a larger one will be too big for his hands. Any recommendations? mike
Unfortunately AllStar does not make any youth catchers glove larger than 31.5". My recommendation would be to get the All Star Pro Series (CM3100SBT) Catcher's Mitt, which is 33.5", and see if it would fit his hand. Some of these are a pretty tight fit. And if it does not just contact us and we will pay for the return and you could go ahead and get another glove to hold him over for a year or two until he can use an adult sized glove and then come back to one of these larger All Star gloves.
Carter
I am a 13U travel ball player and I'm a full time catcher. Would this last me all spring ball, summer ball and fall ball and tournaments? nate
Unfortunately, it would be impossible for me to guarantee that any glove (including this All Star MVP Series [CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt]) will 100% last for a specific amount of time. However, I think that if this glove is given proper care, then it should have the ability to last for an extended period of time for you.
Ben
Would this glove be a good option for a 16u showcase player? spencer
Yes, the All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT) Catcher's Mitt would be a great option for a 16 year old ShowCase player.
Carter
Would this mitt be good for a starting high school JV catcher and primary catcher for a showcase tournament team? doc
Yes, this mitt would be great for such a player. All Star makes high quality catcher's mitts for players of all ages and skill levels.
Kyle J.
I have a 12/13 yr old, will this glove fit his hand? He goes around 5'5" to 5'6" right now. Gus
This glove is intended for adult sized hands, so it would be a good glove for him to grow into.
Kyle J.
Does this glove break down fast? Trenton
No, the All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt is made with a Oil-Softened Premium Steerhide Leather Shell which will keep its form for a good amount of time.
Sean
How long will this take for it to break-in? Trenton
The Oil-Softened Premium Steerhide Leather Shell of this All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt) will not come very stiff and a player should be able to get this glove in game-ready shape within a few weeks.
Ben
What size is this model? I am looking for either 34 or 35 inch. Rob
The All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt features a 33.5" pattern. Here are a couple All Star 35" catcher's mitts: All Star Pro Series: CM3100BT Catcher's Mitt, All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000BT Catcher's Mitt.
Logan
How long do you think someone could get out of this glove? brandon k
The All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt will be lasting glove. It is tough to say the exact amount, I have seen All Star gloves being caught with everyday and use them for 2 years.
Max
I have a 10-U player. We used an Akadema that broke down over a 40 game season. Is this a better option than the Akadema Youth mitt? eric
I would be a little nervous to suggest this All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt) as it has more of an adult hand fitting and a 33.5" circumference. For a 10-U player, I would suggest a glove with a 31.5" - 32.00" and a youth hand fitting. I would definitely suggest the All Star Young Pro Series (CM1010BT Youth Catcher's Mitt) over the Akadema your player has used in the past. The All-Star I have suggested is a 31.5" circumference and has a youth fitting mitt.
Ben
Would this glove work well for a starting high school catcher? Andy
The All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt would work for a high school catcher, but may not last long with the oil-softened leather construction. One I would look at for a little more durability would be the All Star Pro Series: CM3100SBT Catcher's Mitt.
Logan
Is this glove high school and travel ball quality? bobby pinter
This All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt) is a solid mitt for a high school aged player, but may be lacking in the quality needed to hold up to consistent play in high school and travel seasons. I might suggest looking at the All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBT Catcher's Mitt) if you wanted to get the best quality mitt from All Star that can hold up to all the demands of high level play.
Ben
I am going to be playing high school ball where kids will be throwing in the 70s, do you think that this glove is the right size and has enough padding? Mikey Jowdan Abdul-Jabbar Magic Kobe
The All Star MVP Series: CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt is an appropriate size and has adequate padding for a high school catcher.
Logan
Hello, I am a baseball player in high school in Korea. I want to know if it is possible to ship to Korea and if this glove is suitable for an average of 78 miles. korean player Lee
Unfortunately we cannot ship to addresses outside the United States or Puerto Rico. I would advise looking at the CM3100SBT or the CM3100BT for high school play.
Kyle J.
Is this glove good for a 12 year old playing middle school travis
Yes, this All Star MVP Series (CM3030BT Catcher's Mitt) could be used by a middle school catcher. If it was a little large at the beginning, it does have the velcro strap on the back to tighten the fit for a younger player's hand.
