Description

Known for comfortable gloves that perform unlike anything else on the field, Akadema has raised the bar with the Torino Series. With a light brown palm and a chocolate brown shell, the Torino Series performs even better than it looks! Akadema's newest glove line is made from soft and smooth kip leather that enables the Torino Series to be 20% lighter than traditional gloves, yet just as durable as U.S. steerhide. These gloves break-in quickly yet retain their shape better than any other glove on the market. This 12.00 Inch pattern features a Spiral Lock Web and is the perfect size for any position. Never drop a ball again as the pocket on the 12.00 Inch Torino Series is made deep to make ball retention and transfer easier. With a conventional open back, this glove is made to give players the ultimate control in the field that they've been looking for. Akadema: Bring Your "A" Game! Free Shipping!

Pros: This glove comes very stiff and after three days of oiling the pocket and playing catch it was ready for use in a slowpitch softball game at short stop. The leather is very high quality and could be comparable to any HOH or A2000. After the break in it formed a great pocket and with the stiff thumb and pinky it will be a solid glove for a long time. I am now a big fan of Akadema.

Cons: None found at all.

Pros: Once it breaks in it is a nice glove that will last a long time I think. It has nice feel. I have been practicing for about a month with it and the ball sticks in the pocket pretty well now.

Cons: It takes a good bit of work to break in.

What's the size of the glove like? I've heard that Akadema fits smaller than typical gloves of same size. My son is 14 and plays outfield/pitcher. CH
Akadema gloves, including the Akadema Torino Series: AWE20, run average for their size. They won't be smaller or larger than their advertised size. You may have trouble finding a glove that will work for both a pitch and an outfielder though.
Kevin
Would you recommend this glove for a college 3B? How long will this glove last? SB
The Akadema Torino Series: AWE20 is designed for a utility player. We recommend the Akadema Torino Series: AER3, 11.75". With proper break-in and care, the glove should last several seasons.
Kara
What size would you recommend for a 17 year old pitcher? CDeets
Generally, for a pitcher your age, we would suggest a range of sizes between 11.75 inches and 12.25 inches depending on your personal preference. The Akadema Torino Series (AWE20) would be a great option.

About the Brand

In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.

Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!

Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
