Pros: Very easy to mold to your standards, breaks in very quickly.

Cons: Wears out quicker because of the softer leather. Good for 2-3 seasons.

Pros: Great glove for softball outfielder. The ball sticks in the glove.

Cons: I don't know why this model isn't made in the pro series.

Pros: Comfort, Break-in, Durability. Like any leather product - take care of it. This is my second since my other was stolen. Never had durability problems and played 115 games with it for 3 years.

Cons: None.

Pros: Great golve, good sized for softball, high quality, they do run about a half size smaller then advertised which was good for me because I was looking for a 13.5" glove. Also, this site is great, super fast shipping and great customer service. I order my glove on Saturday at around 2pm and they shipped it out that day.

Cons: Not as soft as they claim, probably will take a few days to break in. If you have small hands this glove isn't for you, look into the 13" if you do.

Pros: Great glove so far. Break in period was about 10 games and now it feels and fields just great. No complaints at all. Good glove for the price.

Cons: None.

Pros: Leathers and workmanship appear to be fair quality. Definitely above the average sporting store standard glove. I feel like I got what I paid for and free shipping is nice.

Cons: I typically wear XL gloves and this one still feels a tad bit large. Made in China

Pros: I'm a 81 year old male playing outfield in a senior league. The service was great, I ordered my glove on Monday and received it Thursday afternoon; used it in practice on Friday. It is a well constructed glove, with a nice deep pocket.

Cons: I don't think this glove was game ready out of the box. I will only use it in practice for two or three weeks, before I try it in a game.

Pros: Soft, obviously quality, leather. The service from this site was amazing. I probably should give this glove more stars, because it was my fault for ordering such a huge glove.

Cons: I like gloves with big pockets, because I play 3B. This glove has a big pocket, but it is WAY too heavy for an infielder! I realize that is probably because of the quality leather. Also, the reviewer who said that "if you have small hands, this is not for you" couldn't have been more right.

Pros: Easy to catch with and break in also the color goes with anything

Cons: Can run a half size small and the soft leather will give you only about 3 seasons instead of 4-5.

Pros: Great feel of the soft leather and glove has a great look to it. Not a lot of break-in time.

Cons: Haven't seen any at this time.

Pros: I was very picky in my search for a 14 inch glove for softball. Although I cannot attest to the glove being a 13.5 inch (or 14), it is definitely bigger than my 13 inch glove that I had. One previous comment was don't buy this glove if you have small hands. I was apprehensive that this glove would be too big on my hands because I don't have huge hands. I would say my hands are average size and I believe this glove would fit most average sized hands to bigger hands after trying it. I have also tried on some gloves at a leading sports store and this isn't the type of glove you feel you would need super long fingers to close the glove. I did have to adjust the pinkee strap a tad so my hand wasn't spread out as much. The leather is soft, and the palm has quality padding to it. My index finger is comfortable out of that hole. It seems like it would break in fairly quick, but not game ready out of the box. I think every glove needs a little custom breaking in anyways.

Cons: They were out of stock of the Akadema glove conditioner when I ordered and certain leathers need certain conditioners so I had to get that elsewhere. Hopefully they restock soon.

Pros: The glove care kit made breaking in this glove a breeze. This 14" glove is a lifesaver...I don't have to reach down as far to get those grounders.

Cons: I think they may have had to use the whole cow to make this glove because its huge!

Pros: 1- Inexpensive glove.

Cons: 1- Used version of this glove clearly had never been used but rather had visible manufacturing defects/smears/stains. 2- Did not recieve free gift sunglasses as advertised.

Pros: This glove is big. Usable out of the box but definately needs breakling in. It fits well

Cons: The wrist strap. I like the glove better than my last glove but the strap was way better than this one.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Akadema Pro Soft Series: ASR282? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I'm a lefty female, playing 1st base with B division men with huge arms. Need a very durable mitt. Have Mizuno but it wore out in 3 months. Is this durable enough? gibby
That all depends. There are other gloves out there that will be a more durable, but may cost a bit more. For the price, this will be an excellent glove with good durability.
Brett
Is this glove made in USA? dan
Akadema does not manufacture glove models within the United States; their production is stationed in China.
Brett
Is it American made? Royster
No. Akadema's Patriot Series is made in the U.S.A. Their Pro Soft Series is made in China.
JH
Is this glove good for a slowpitch pitcher? I have bigger hands. Also, is the free glove bag just big enough for the glove? Pat
Yes the Akadema Pro Soft Series: ASR282 With FREE Glove Bag would be great for a slow pitch pitcher. Yes the bag is just big enough for the glove.
Jeff
Is this a hardball glove? I need at least a 14 in for hardball. r
Most baseball leagues and organizations limit glove size to 12.75". At 14", the Akadema Pro Soft Series: ASR282 is designed with softball in mind, but if you are in a baseball league with no glove size restrictions, it would be a great option.
Tyler
Would this be a wise choice for SS or 3rd? Steve Merc
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (ASR282) could work for those products in slow pitch softball but may be slightly larger than some players would want for infield. However, it ultimately comes down to what the player is comfortable with.
Patrick
I play 2nd base in senior softball. If the ball pops out of the glove, should I go up or down in size? Ed
The ball popping out of the glove can indicate that you need a deeper pocket or that the glove is too stiff and needs to be broken in more. The Akadema Pro Soft Series: ASR282 has a 14.00 inch design with a ultra deep pocket. If your current glove is not stiff then this Akadema model could potentially help rectify this issue for you.
Cameron
Would this glove work for an 11 year old outfield/ pitcher? bravesplayer12
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (ASR282) is a 14 inch glove. This glove would be too big for an 11 year old. If it did fit, the glove is designed to be an outfielder glove.
