Description

Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Their increasing market share can be attributed to their innovative quality and professionally designed product line. Focusing on the quality, feel, and small details has lifted Akadema to the next level. With a goal to provide products for all ball players, Akadema has created the new Precision Series. The Precision Series uses Precision Kip Leather that is 20% lighter and tighter grained than steer hide. The hides are harvested in Europe and tanned in Japan. Ultimately, the Precision Series design provides the player with a more pliable glove. This allows for easier break-in. The Precision Kip Leather also provides more tensile strength than competing glove lines. This results in a stronger, more durable glove. With a conventional open back and a deep pocket, this 12.75-inch glove is everything that a serious outfielder could ask for. Akadema: Bring Your "A Game"! Free Shipping!

Pros: I've had this glove for about two years already, awesome ballglove, great pocket and feels great in your hands once broken in. I would definitely recommend this glove over any other brand. I've used Wilson's and Rawlings; and this glove feels much better compared to the other gloves.

Cons: Absolutely None.

Steve

Pros: I got this for my son who is 13 years old. The glove arrived super stiff. I could not even bend it with my hand inside. But after a few hours of molding it, pounding it with a mallot, oiling it up, etc., it is now to the point where it is usable. We played catch and my son loved it. It will probably take a few more days of sold use to make it completely comfortable for game play. I can tell this is a high quality glove. It seems to be lighter, as advertised. I also think it looks pretty cool with the black and gray colors.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Nice looking glove that broke in pretty quickly

Cons: The lace on the webbing snapped in half in 3 weeks. I broke it in slowly just playing some catch and shagging fly balls. Also the thumb on the glove doesn't have much support. Glove feels like it wants to twist of my hand sometimes when catching.

Questions and Answers

How long does this take to break in and how long will it last? Bob
There is not a set break in time or a time frame on how long the Akadema Precision Series will last. It will depend on how often the glove is used.
Kara
Is this good for a middle school/high school outfielder or would a 12.5 be better for him? Bob
We recommend a 12.50" to a 12.75" glove for an outfielder. If the player is on the larger size we recommend the 12.75".
Kara
I'm looking to upgrade from my previous Rawlings Player Prefered 12.25" outfield glove what would you recommend? Alex
If you like Rawlings, I recommend sticking with Rawlings. The Pro Preferred Series would be an excellent option.
Tyler
Middle school, is it better to use a 7.5 if your not big or does in matter much? jim
The size bat you should use depends on your height, weight, and your bat speed. Here is a link to our bat coach tool on our website that will be very helpful in choosing a size. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

Is this glove only for left handed people? When I'm looking at the options on the right - the box is already checked for left handed thrower. Nick
The Akadema Precision Series AMR34-12 is made for right and left handed throwers. Unfortunately we are currently out of stock in the right handed option. That is why you don't see the option.
Damon
Is kip leather going to last longer than steerhide? I hear steerhide is better and will last longer. mike l
The Akadema Precision Series: AMR34-12 features the kip leather. Kip leather is made from the hide of a younger steer. The kip leather and the steerhide will be comparable in durability.

I am looking to replace my Worth Mayhem men's softball glove that broke. I play the infield. Is this a good option and what size do you recommend? mopar99
The Akadema Precision Series (AMR34-12) is a nice design and for infield play for softball, I would recommend this 12.75 inch pattern as a utility size that could be used for both outfield and infield.

How would this compare to the Rawlings Revo 650 or 750 and the Wilson A2000? I play shortstop in a slowpitch softball league. I'm currently using a 15+ y/o Rawlings glove and it's time for a replacement. Thanks. SlowpitchSS
The Akadema Precision Series (AMR34-12) will have a deep pocket that is perfect for slowpitch softball fielders. The Wilson A2000 series is available in two different comparable models, the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A20RB151799SS) and the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin Series (A20RB15OT6SS). Both Wilson models will have higher quality SuperSkin material that is twice as strong as conventional leather. The Rawlings Revo 650 series and 750 series gloves are currently out of stock.
Tom

The Akadema Precision Series (AMR34-12) features a 12.75 inch pattern with an H-web design. The kip leather will be fairly easy to break-in. The Wilson A2000 Series Yasiel Puig Model (A20LB15YP66GM) features a 12.75 inch pattern with a pro stock leather. Additionally it offers Puig's signature "Y" style webbing.
