Description

Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Their increasing market share can be attributed to their innovative quality and professionally designed product line. Focusing on the quality, feel and small details has lifted Akadema to the next level. With a goal to provide products for all ball players, Akadema has created the new Precision Series. The Precision Series uses Precision Kip Leather that is 20% lighter and tighter grained than steer hide. The hides are harvested in Europe and tanned in Japan. Ultimately, the Precision Series design provides the player with a more pliable glove. This allows for easier break-in. The Precision Kip Leather also provides more tensile strength than competing glove lines. This results in a stronger, more durable glove. With a modified open back and a deep pocket, this first base mitt is everything that a serious ball player could ask for. Akadema: Bring Your "A Game"! Free Shipping!

AUSTIN T. BEAVER COUNTY, PA.

Pros: I ORDERED TWO GLOVES: AKADEMA AND THE BRETT BROS. THE AKADEMA GLOVE HAS A BETTER FIT TO THE HAND. THE FINGER STALLS WERE MORE COMFORTABLE THAN THE BRETT BROS. THE BALL POCKET IN THE AKADEMA IS DEEPER AND HAS A NICE FIT AROUND THE BALL. THE BRETT BROS. WAS NOT AS DEEP OR FORM FITTING TO BALL. STIFFNESS WAS MEDIUM. AS FOR THE BRETT BROS. IT WAS REALLY STIFF.

Cons: IF YOU HAVE A BIG HAND YOU HAVE TO LOOSEN THE BACK WRIST STRAP. THAT'S WITH ANY GLOVE TO GET THE RIGHT OPENING FOR YOUR HAND. GREAT GLOVE.

Pros: Great quality glove, incredibly high end for the price.

Cons: The hand opening is TINY. I bought this glove for my 10 year old travel player (he's big for his age) and he said the opening was too tight for him. My hands are larger than average and I could not get my hand even halfway into the glove. Did I say it is a high quality glove?

Pros: Picked up a 'demo' of this glove for my son, 10, and he loves it. Breaking in very nicely, he's already used it in a game. Very high quality glove, especially for the price. He wears a batting glove to get a better fit, but it's great.

Cons: So far, none. Couldn't be happier. So impressed with Akadema his next fielding glove will be one, too.

What ages would you recommend this glove for? I have a big 12 year old and am afraid the 12.50" will be too small. Nacho

Is this the right size for a 13 year old? I am deciding between this one (12.5") vs. the Shoeless Joe (12"). AR
The recommended size for a 13 year old player is a 12" model. It ultimately comes down to player preference, but the 12.50" pattern on the Akadema Precision Series (ADJ154-12) First Base Mitt will work as well.

About the Brand

In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.

Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!

Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
