Description
Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Born to satisfy the needs of the competitive fastpitch player, the Akadema FastPitch Design Series ANF71 is handcrafted to increase your level of performance on the field. Constructed of U.S. Steerhide throughout the pocket and webbing, the back of the glove features exclusive AkademaLyte leather, decreasing the overall weight of the glove and allowing for a faster break-in period and a more flexible feel. Smaller finger stalls used to minimize the distance between the thumb and index finger and Akadema's Grasp Clasp adjustable wrist strap allow for increased playability for female fastpitch players. Akadema's latest innovation, the patent pending Funnel is sweeping across professional baseball infields everywhere! In response to the significant number of professional infielders who bend the thumb and pinky fingers of their gloves outward creating a glove that remains open rather than closed in its natural state, Akadema has created the Funnel. With patent pending FleXion slit and an inverted thumb and pinky finger, the Funnel's natural state is open, allowing for the maximum fielding surface available for that hard ground ball up the middle or that two-hopper in the hole! Turn two like an All-Star with Akadema's all new Funnel infielders glove! Akadema: Bring Your "A" Game!

Pros: ready to use right out of the box. Fit my daughters hand perfectly. It's light weight and looks great. The glove is very well made except for the faux leather on the edges.
Cons: The faux leather used on the edges does not hold up well at all. However, it does not appear to affect the golves performance. I think for $100 it should be all leather.
Pros: Bought this glove for 9 year old girl, she loves it. It makes a great diffrence in digging out balls and it funnels balls very well. Easy to break in oven does wonders......... I also beat the pocket in and the outside to make it loose. Played tournament with it 2 days after getting it she did not miss a ball in dirt or high played 4 games........ It is a great size for her to... Built well..
Cons: None as of now....
Pros: Very good glove for my 10 U daughter. I didn't think it would be broken-in in time for our tournament but she used it anyway. You can throw anything at her and she will snag it with this glove!!
Cons: None.
Pros: My Grand daughter who is 11 really enjoys using this mitt. The quality is high and she catches anything thrown at her with it. The break in kit was a big help in getting it ready. It also improved my 15 year old slighly used glove.
Cons: She has hands the size of an adult male. This glove works now. Question whether it will work if she grows much more in the hands.
Pros: This is a lightweight first base mitt that makes it easier to break-in and easier to handle for younger players.
Cons: The con to it being lightweight is that there is less padding in the palm and middle finger areas. My daughter complained about this, and I noticed it too.
Pros: Light weight, Nice looking, Breaks in quickly.
Cons: Didn't last a full year before it became to floppy. The finger stalls would just flop over. Not worth $100
Pros:
Cons: Became very flimsy and lost shape after 2 years of use
Pros: Glove is game ready so didn't need much breaking in. This glove would be a good glove for a first time young player.
Cons: Since glove is soft and game ready it didn't hold up well. Bought this for my daughter for Christmas and it is already sagging and can't hold the ball in the pocket. Not a good glove for every day use..
Pros: Good price. Fast break-in.
Cons: Too flimsy for a serious player. Maybe it would make a pretty decent mitt for a rec player. I've seen my daughter stretch for a ball and catch it in the pocket. Only to have the top of the mitt fold over in half and the ball fall out

About the Brand
In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.
Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!
Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
