Description

New for What a wonderful glove with perennial excellence! The Wilson A2000 Series is more than just a new year. Wilson has improved on the design while continuing to offer the quality and craftsmanship that one has come to know and expect from the A2000. Since its introduction in 1957, the Wilson A2000 has set the standard for premium ball gloves. With over 55 years of game changing performance, the A2000 only continues to get better and is still one of the most popular glove choices among baseball's top athletes. Wilson has spent decades working with MLB players to refine the A2000 baseball glove so that it outperforms and outlasts all others. The A2000 is made from American Pro Stock Steerhide Leather that is hand selected for its rugged durability. Inside the glove, there is an extremely comfortable Dri-Lex Wrist Lining. Dri-Lex Technology is an ultra-breathable material that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. Each A2000 model also features the patented Dual-Welting that creates a pre-curved finger design to help maintain the most stable and durable pocket possible. With this particular glove, Wilson has replaced some of the leather on the back of the shell with their proprietary Super Skin material. Super Skin further reduces the gloves break-in time, repels moisture, repels dirt, and is actually 2X stronger and lighter than actual leather. Unmatched in their feel and performance, all A2000 patterns are endlessly field tested and constantly improved by hundreds of professionals and top amateur players that choose only Wilson Ball Gloves. The result is a glove that breaks in perfectly for hardworking players everywhere. Wilson: Choose Your Glove!

1799 SS cr player

Pros: good pocket and very light weight

Cons: it feels cheap to me. I have a heart of the hide and the leather does not compare to it. Not worth the money to me.

Many people say this model is great for 2 or 3 in the pinky, however I am used to wearing the glove traditionally, each finger in it's slot. Will this glove be OK for me? I got an average hand, about 7 1/2 size. Andy
The 2017 Wilson A2000 Super Skin 12.75" Baseball Glove: A20RB171799SS works well for having two in the pinky slot. However, it still works well for players that like to wear their glove traditionally as well.

(1) What is the break-in, conditioning, and maintenance process for the super skin material? (2) Is it okay to put leather conditioner on it? Steve
(1) The SuperSkin featured on this 2017 Wilson A2000 Super Skin 12.75" Baseball Glove (A20RB171799SS) will be pretty ready to go out of the box. No conditioning or maintenance is really needed for the SuperSkin material as it will actually come pretty pliable right out of the box (use of the glove will allow the material to become even more pliable). (2) You will not need to put any conditioner on the SuperSkin as the conditioner will not have any real effect on the SuperSkin material.
Ben
I am both an outfielder and a pitcher. Will this glove work well for both of those positions? I have another smaller glove that fits well and I could use while pitching, but what would you recommend? Piazza
I would recommend using the 2017 Wilson A2000 Super Skin 12.75" Baseball Glove: A20RB171799SS in the outfield. You could also use it while pitching but I would recommend using the smaller glove when you are on the mound.
