Description
The Wilson A2K Series simply exudes greatness. These gloves were meticulously developed with a focus on durability and a break-in faster than you can imagine. Made from Pro Stock Select Leather, these gloves use only the top 5% of all hides Wilson purchases and were triple sorted for consistency and flawlessness. This unbelievable consistency in the leather leads to a stronger pocket and an all around higher quality glove. The A2K Series features Rolled Dual Welting where strips of Pro Stock Leather are skived thin and rolled to provide long-lasting shape. Inside, a thin, strategically cut piece of leather is placed between the palm and outer shell, providing maximum pocket stability and improving the durability where the most wear-and-tear is experienced. Its 2X Palm Construction also provides maximum shock resistance during the catch. A2K gloves showcase the time and passion that Wilson's craftsmen has put into every single glove they produce, as their master technicians spend 3X longer pounding and shaping the glove by hand before it even leaves the factory. That should be all the proof you need that the A2K from Wilson was created with unparalleled craftsmanship, and is one of the highest quality gloves a player could ever take to the diamond.

Can this mitt last 2+ years if you play around 75 games a season?
Big-E
If the 2016 Wilson A2K Series (A2KRB16PUDGE) is well taken care of and maintained, it very well could last 2+ years for you.
Marcus
I'm stuck between getting this mitt or the Rawlings Pro Preferred PROSCM33RT. I play around 80 games a year and I take very good care of the mitts. I wanted to know which mitt would last me longer and which one will not get floppy with use? I am 16 years old and I catch pitching anywhere between mid 70's to high 80's.

Both the 2016 Wilson A2K Series (A2KRB16PUDGE) and the Rawlings Pro Preferred Series (PROSCM33RT) should work extremely well for what you are looking for. They compare extremely closely so preference would ultimately come down to brand preference or based off the look you like more. You cannot go wrong with either mitt.

how wide is the area where the heel pad is. I like that area to be wide and i cant really tell from the pictures or videos
dbaball
I would say that the heel pad on the 2016 Wilson A2K Series (A2KRB16PUDGE Catcher's Mitt) is a bit smaller when compared to other catcher mitts.

What improvements have been made to the 2016 A2K Pudge mitt?

The biggest difference between the 2015 A2K Pudge model and this 2016 Wilson A2K Series (A2KRB16PUDGE Catcher's Mitt) will be the cosmetics. Overall, both gloves feature the same length and technologies.
Ben
I have an A2000 CM33, but I want an A2K to be my new gamer. If I get it used, would it be in awful condition?
Jay
At the time of your question, we have an option of this 2016 Wilson A2K Series (A2KRB16PUDGE Catcher's Mitt) that is rated to be in excellent condition. A glove that is in used condition will be one that was owned and used by a prior customer and sent back under our 100 day guarantee. When we received the glove back, we inspected the glove and determined that the glove received a little bit of use and was well cared for by the previous owner. Because of that, we rated the glove to be in excellent condition. Overall, if you were to get the excellent rated option of this glove it would not be in awful condition.

Was the glove broken in properly at the hinges so a proper pocket was formed?

The 2016 Wilson A2K Series: A2KRB16PUDGE Catcher's Mitt that is listed in "excellent" condition so this mitt will feature very little break-in; in short the pocket can still be formed to an individual's personal preference.

Wilson makes a variety of baseball gloves and equipment for several different positions, uncluding bats and batting gloves. They are best known for models that include the A2K and A2000, as well as custom gloves. Players such as Clayton Kershaw and Miguel Cabrera have sported Wilson baseball gloves.

To do so, we verify some information. If you see an item listed at a lower price elsewhere, this is all we require:
We must verify that the website you want to price match is legitimate and an authorized dealer of the products they sell.
We must confirm that the competitor has the same size and product in stock and ready to ship. If the same size and product is out of stock on the competitor's website, we are unable to match their price.

We have the final decision for matching an online price.
