Description

Wilson A1K 12.25" Baseball Glove: A1KRB16OF1225

Pro-Level Performance for the Up-And-Coming Player - the Wilson A1K is BACK!

Glove Benefits

The Wilson A1K takes the same legendary A2000 and A2K patterns designed for the game's Elite and tweaks them slightly to meet the needs of Intermediate to Advanced-level players everywhere. Built from Top-Shelf Leather, the A1K Series provides pro-level performance without the need for a lengthy break-in. This high-end steer hide leather is the best quality available on the open market, and it blends a high level of durability with a softer, mold-able feel that allows you to form the glove to your exact preference. Each glove in the A1K Series also features the Pedroia Fit. This feature includes all of the fit modifications that Dustin Pedroia requests for his own game-model glove. These include a smaller hand opening and tighter finger stalls for a more-snug fit, longer laces, and a low-profile heel. By removing the padding typically found at the base of the pocket or "heel", Wilson is able to create a design that closes easier and minimizes the rebound created when bad-hops hit the base of the glove.

This model features a 12.25" pattern size, a Pro-Laced T-Web, and is perfect for a Youth to Intermediate Outfielder.

Pros: Love this glove. As an adult with medium to small hands, the Pedroia Fit works very well once I open the back up. There's still enough room to put two in the pinkie. Breaks in easy, not game ready out of the box but pretty close. Combining the Pedroia fit with the Kirby Puckett design is the best of both worlds. I'm reminded of this every time I make a "Snow Cone" catch! Big fan of the Pro-Laced T-Web.

Cons: The low profile heel pad is more for an infielder. This is a design feature for the glove, but for an outfielder's glove there is a bit more sting when catching a hard hit ball low in the glove.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A1K 12.25" Baseball Glove: A1KRB16OF1225? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would this glove be a solid option for a 10 year old player? Mark
For a 10 year old player that is competing exclusively in the outfield, this 2016 Wilson A1K Series (A1KRB16OF1225) would be a solid option of glove. It has a snug fitting for a player with a smaller hand and a 12.25" length that works for a younger player in the outfield.
Ben
Is the A1KRB16OF1225 glove and laces black or charcoal? Chris
The leather and laces of the 2016 Wilson A1K Series: A1KRB16OF1225 are black in color. The logos on the glove are charcoal in color.
Marcus
Is this an outfielders or pitchers glove? bobby
At 12.25", the 2016 Wilson A1K Series: A1KRB16OF1225 will be best suited for outfield play. Pitchers generally use 11.75"-12.00" gloves while outfielders generally range from 12.00"-12.75".
Marcus
How easy is the glove to break-in? Carson Cole
It depends on use and if you use glove oil or not but on average the 2016 Wilson A1K Series: A1KRB16OF1225 takes about 3 weeks to break-in.
Sean
Could I use this for outfield and pitching for a lefty comfortably? Treytift
The 2016 Wilson A1K Series: A1KRB16OF1225 is a 12.25 inch pattern and can be a good option for someone that is both a pitcher an OF. It is best suited for pitching but if one put two fingers in the pinkie slot it can be an adequate OF model. The only potential issue would be the smaller wrist opening and tighter finger stalls could make the two fingers in the pinkie slot difficult.
Cameron
How much wear has been put on the used glove? nick
At the current time of your question, we have a "used" version of this 2016 Wilson A1K Series (A1KRB16OF1225) that is rated to be in "excellent" condition. A glove that is listed to be in "excellent" condition is one that was probably received by a customer, used very gently and then sent back to us under our 100 day guarantee. If you were to get that "used" mitt, it would be noticeable that another customer had it before you, but almost all the break-in would be left to you.
Ben
Is this glove ok for a high school outfielder? clay
Yes, the 2016 Wilson A1K Series (A1KRB16OF1225) would be a great option for a high school outfielder is the player has a little smaller hand due to the Pedroia Fi on this option. The Pedroia fit features a Smaller Hand Opening and Tighter Finger Stalls for More Secure Fit.
