A true American icon in the world of sports equipment. This Chicago-based manufacturer of quality gloves began in 1913 as Ashland Manufacturing, which was as a subsidiary of the Wilson & Co. meat company. The Wilson A2K Fastpitch Series: A2K0FP3CL26 would be the 12.50" size and work for the elite fastpitch player.
The Wilson A2K Fastpitch Series: A2K0FP3CL26 is slightly large at 12.50". We recommend closer to an 11.75" for a 14 year old playing primarily shortstop. The Wilson A2K Fastpitch Series: A2K0FP3INF in a 12" would be a good fit for her, as it's designed for primarily infield and pitching.
The new A2K Fastpitch Series gives the phrase "play like a girl" a whole new meaning. This series was created to put the female ballplayer in control. Crafted to fit the female hand, A2K Fastpitch gloves feature patterns for shorter, narrower hands and include bigger pockets to accommodate a softball. These gloves are meticulously developed with a focus on durability and break-in faster than you can imagine. Made from Pro Stock American Steerhide Leather, only the top 5% of hides become A2K gloves. They're triple sorted for consistency and flawlessness and then tanned specifically to become an A2K. Each glove features Rolled Dual-Welting where thin strips of Pro Stock Leather are skived thin and rolled to provide long-lasting shape, while allowing for a quicker break-in. Inside, a thin, strategically cut piece of leather is placed between the palm and outer shell, providing maximum pocket stability and a quicker break-in. This 2x Palm Construction also provides maximum shock resistance. A2K gloves reflect the time that Wilson's craftsmen have put into each glove. These master technicians spend 3x longer pounding and shaping the glove by hand at Wilson's factory - reducing the break-in time for the player. Wilson put everything they had into this glove - and then styled it with their iconic Wilson tan and jet black to celebrate their 99th anniversary. Wilson: More Win! Free Shipping!
